    Just wanted to add my thanks! Thanks for taking your time to make this video. It was fantastic! I would have never had the courage to change the broken axle on my 2014 RZR 800without your video. You saved me hundreds of dollars while helping me gain the personal satisfaction of doing the job myself. If we love near each other, it would be my pleasure to buy you a steak dinner as a thank you!

    Thanks for a simple, straightforward easy to follow video. So many people try to impress the viewers and don't make an easy to follow USABLE video. Great job!

    Wow, 8 yr old video but as others have stated, great video, simple instructions and helpful suggestions like blue threadlocker and such. Appreciate the how to man. I feel dumb for thinking it was harder than this.

    Very mgood video. Nice tips and attention to detail. Most vids just resort to bigger hammers which often causes more damage. Thanks a million!

      Holy Schmidt brother. 32 minutes toolbox open to wheels down, including removing the rear control arms on my Turbo. grab every tool Neal used and every 15 millimeter you own and it's a breeze. thanks again Neil, going driving!

    If you are going to torque the castle nut by hand why did you put the cotter pin back in?

  • @archibaldadventures
    @archibaldadventures 5 років тому

    Don't have to take the caliper off. Just take the castle nut off the axle, the upper arm bolt out of the knuckle and rotate the knuckle down. Pull the axle up out of the hub and then out of the diff. Easy peasy.

    What if your leaking black looking oil from where the axel pops in to the rear diff? I think my mechanic is dicking me around. The previous time i had him changw my oil, they cross threaded my drain plug. Brough it back to them to have them fix it. And they told me i needed two new wheel bearings. got it back and. Oticed the black oil around the rear right drive shaft. Almost looks like there is a little bit of space between the diff and the drive shaft. Alao has a bit of a clickey aound when you wiggle the wheel. Other side looks thight.

    Did the Quadboss axle hold up well? I ordered one yesterday because of cost amd availability, hoping for good quality too.

      I didn't have any issues with the Quadboss axles, from my experience all Quadboss replacement parts are of excellent quality!

    those washers that you installed before the castle nut. Are those called cone washers? I've been reading a lot about them being special washers and people having major issues when they don't il use the cone washers or install the upside down. Is that correct?

    • @mudandgutsoffroad
      @mudandgutsoffroad  8 років тому

      +jkelley05 I have never heard that but I do try to put them back the same way I remove them! I have never had any issues!

    Those look like stock rims. The reason I am asking is because I want those tires. Are they stock rims and if so how did you make the front and backs to work size wise?

    • @mudandgutsoffroad
      @mudandgutsoffroad  8 років тому +1

      d57702 yes there are stock wheels, I think I staggered the tires with 8 and 10 but honestly I don't remember. they may have been the same all the way around. I didn't have any issues.

      @d57702 8 років тому +1

      If you could share actual sizes that would be great.

      I wish I would have known this before I figured with the size on the front it would look weird or handle poorly.

      Never been a fan of the sway bar in the off road world. Only reason my xp has one is because I don't have limit straps yet. Lol
