I just took the plunge with Sonos two weeks ago, and had a horrible experience. The ethernet cable solved my problem. This video just reinforces exactly what I found. I have a very very ultra high-performance network, with multiple bands, and this is the only thing that worked. Thank you for “going loud” and communicating this fix. I hope more people see this, great job!!!
Hi Otto, you can purchase a booster if you like. But as explained in the video, you don't need one, if you have a LAN socket in reach to plug in one of the speakers and do the setup as described. This will replace a boost.
Banks and other much more time sensitive applications are able to operate using routed protocols. There's no actual reason for sonos to require a layer 2 bridged network to deliver static content.

This helped me a lot. Finally got it working after a long struggle. Thanks
Great content and competently shared. So many SONOS uses struggle with connectivity issues. Thank you!!
Thanks for the information. I am experiencing this issue and plan to purchase a booster.
