I got to live out my Initial D fantasies with this awesome real-life replica of Takumi's Trueno. Despite zero tofu deliveries made, I had too much fun!

Its a 16 valve Black Top 4-age. Only revs up to 8500 rpm. The one in the Anime is a 20valve silver top variant of the 4-AGE which is tuned by TRD for Japanese Group A Cars and Formula Atlantic cars, those actually redline at 12k at least

Do the hand taped challenge
Unless you're Keiichi Tsuchiya, don't try it in an AE86. You will lose it, you will crash, and you will cry.
What is the hand taped challenge?
Duct tape drath match. You tape one hand to the steering wheel leaving your shifting hand free. It prevents you from turning the wheels very far, so you have to steer by transfering weight instead. It's incredibly dangerous, especially in a rear drive car like the 86.
In a car with no power steering? Unless he's DK (which he isn't) or he want's to break his wrist then he could do it, but still... xD

That's in Europe. Cars are much cheaper to buy and import here in the US. Plus, I live on the west coast, importing stuff from Japan is relatively cheap here

You found one for 20k? With prices here, that's a complete rip off. I found a mint condition AE86 in Vegas for 10k. A bone stock JDM S13 with original Japanese plates, also 10k. Japanese cars are cheap here

Pretty much the only Japanese car that sells for more than 10k around here is the NSX. It's kind of a quirk of this area, all old cars, unless they're from the 50s or older, cost around 10k here

Get a Zenki AE86 Sprinter Trueno chassis, get a 20 valve variant Silver top 4-AGE motor, swap the manifolds, lighten up the flywheels, convert it into a carburetor injection, reinforce the headers, get a set of black Watanabe rims and Bridgestone RE tires, some coilovers, TRD Limited slip diffs and an AP racing 4 pot brake rotors and calipers.

oh yeah I loved driving the 86. the corolla and my old e30 were the 2 greatest cars ive ever driven. both fantastic cars and I miss driving my friends 86 .
been daily driving an ae86 for 5 years now. no ac, no ps, definitely feel all the bumps on the road, hear all the clunks. so far so good but soon ill be getting another daily. its time to retire her and nuat use it as a weekend driver/track car.
