Hi Bincy, I made this cake today and it smells so amazing and taste very nice. So glad that I saw your recipe. I had substitute plain flour with oat flour, brown sugar with coconut sugar and milk with ideal milk. Basically use what I have at home. Everything was good except is slightly dry. Maybe baking time is too long. I bake it at 180’c for 60mins and using a 7x7 inch tray. My cake height is quite low so maybe next time need to reduce the baking time I think.

Found these measurements online - please see if these look ok to you. 350 gms dates- 1.5 cups tightly packed dates 50 gms sugar - 1/4 cup sugar 2 large eggs 225g all purpose flour- 1and 3/4 cup +1 tablespoon or so 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp Vanilla extract 1 tsp coffee powder(optional) 75-85 gms chopped walnuts - less than 3/4 cup Butter - 100 gms Hot milk-150 ml -0.6 cups Thanks so much for your recipes!

After amalgamating the butter, sugar and eggs together with the whisk you would really be better folding in the flour and dates using a wooden spoon. This keeps the cake mix a lot lighter.

Hi Shiny,while making a cake,we need to add something for sweetness,and even if it is natural honey or dates, it is not recommended for a diabetic diet.Generally, there's no advantage to substituting honey or dates for sugar in a diabetes eating plan. Both honey ,dates and sugar will affect the blood sugar level. So What we can do is to eat cake in moderate amount.

Here are a few egg substitutes,alternative for one egg: • Flax seeds : 1 tbsp ground flax seed + 3 tbsp water. Stir and let sit for 15 minutes. • 1 tsp baking soda + 1 tbsp white vinegar + 1 tbsp water. Mix into the dough ingredients. (fluffy) • A half of ripe banana (for suitable flavor) • ¼ cup of puree fruits (moist): apple, apricot, prunes, avocado, pumpkin I hope this can help you.

And it is cook in a steamer as what thier retired chinese cook have taught me. Now i'll follow these recipe of yours madame. 😁😁 But can steam it also?
