Hi Merry Christmas, I tried your recipe, turned out superb, I'm gonna catch hold of all your Nana's recipes... too good, hey also tried your milk cream, that too turned out good, thanks for sharing n keep up the good job.
Hi Trisha I would like to know how many grams is the flour. Also incase I want to add rum to by cake how do i go about it. Your reply will be appreciated.
Hey Trisha . I prepared the Date and Walnut cake recipe and followed as directed. The cake turned out fantastic. I used fine granulated Demerara sugar instead of white sugar. I also added 1/4 tsp of cinnamon powder and less than 1/4 tsp of nutmeg powder. The flavours of cake was more enhanced. Thanks 🙏 again. Appreciate the great recipes and your sweet voice 😇
Beautiful colour! Am going to try this recipe ! Watching you doing it makes it seems so easy! Boost my confidence! Thank you Trisha! God bless you! Merry X'mas!!
Hi .. compliments of the season! thanks for the easy and awesome receipe .. I tried it twice and every one loved it .. since the walnut content is more it’s not too sweet and definitely tastes better the next day. Pls can you suggest the cooking time for a microwave convection oven? I had issues with getting the timing and heat right .. I kept on 180 for 30 mins and it was raw inside and burnt on top.. it split open on top the second time .. I used a ceramic and glass cooking pan as the other tins are not suitable for my oven.. appreciate if you can help me with some suggestions to improve. Keep up the great work with the receipes..
Thanks Anita. Glad you enjoyed it. I have never worked with a microwave oven so unfortunately cant help. But with your oven, like with all other bakes, place the cake on a middle rack. Bake with both the top and bottom burners / heating elements on. If you see the top of the cake browning too fast, make a loose tent with some foil over the cake tray to prevent the top from burning. Hope this helps.
Elaine, it really depends on the weather. Heat and humidity can shorten the shelf life of the cake. I have kept it for about 3-4 days at room temperature and it has been fine.
Hi Priti, it’s just below the video. If you’re watching on your phone, click on the little arrow on the right hand side / under the video. It will give you all the information there.
So glad you enjoyed the recipe Bernadine. Typically this cake should last about 4-5 days but climate (temperature and humidity) will affect the shelf life too.
Beautiful recipe.... 😍😍😍 to get it darker and to look richer you can add in 1tbsp of coffee powder in 1/4cup of water and pour it in.... i wont give any coffee flavour but would rather make it look dark
WOW! Amazing recipe. Thank you so much for sharing it. Instead of white sugar, could I use dark brown sugar for a darker color? If yes, then what should be the proportion?
I've never tried it with brown sugar. Start with half the quantity of white and half brown and see how you like it. Taste a little bit of the batter before you bake it and add more sugar as needed. Brown sugar can be less sweet.
@@TheAspiringHomeCook oh....k. thanks Trisha. Will do that and let you know. I would like to send you the picture of your recipes tried by me . Please let me know how do I go about it.

Hi Trisha, I had planned to make this date and walnut cake, but to my dismay, the oven broke down! I had just bake a cake a couple of days ago! Is there any other way I can still make this cake? Please help!
Hello Mam....Hope you are well. I tried this recipe today. I followed all the steps and baked it at 180 degrees for 50 mins. The top and bottom part got completely burnt. Can you please help and suggest what could have gone wrong. I am not a great cook so some tips would help. Thank you.
Every oven is different. Did you have both the top and bottom elements on? A couple of things you can do is check if the cake is fully cooked at the 30-35 minutes mark. Or drop the temperature to 170 degrees - if you do this the cake may take longer to bake, you will have to test to see if it has cooked through. Also, if you find that the top is browning too fast. cover the cake tin loosely with some kitchen foil. I hope this helps.
@@TheAspiringHomeCook Thank you so much mam for your guidance. I tried this cake again but this time i cooked it on the gas and it came out beautifully and so delicious. Hi I just tried this recipe, but sadly my cake got burnt, I set the oven to 180 degrees and pre heated it and kept it for 35 minutes as I used a square dish, I am feeling so bad, please tell me how do I correct this mistake
I tried this cake twice.. Tasted amazing and simple to make.. however I had the same issue .. it was burnt on top but not cooked well in the middle.. mine is a microwave convection so I tot it might be the cause. I reduced it the second time to 175 but still had the same prob.. wish I knew how to get the cooking time right in my Oven..

We don't have to soak the walnuts otherwise it would taste bitter
