Amaravathi Express Passing Dudhsagar Water Falls
Dudhsagar is a major waterfall in the Western Ghats, situated on the border of Goa and Karnataka. Compared to last year, in this year the inflow of travelers to the waterfall has increased rapidly. However, poor logistics and travel options for Dudhsagar Falls are forcing tourists to take an unsustainable route.

The journey to Dudhsagar Falls during the rains is done using the services of the Indian Railways. This waterfall with a height of 310 meters is the 5th largest waterfall in India. The most spectacular part - a railway track has been built right in the middle of the waterfall. The falls look extraordinary from below and you can walk straight to the falls where there is a railway track, but it takes a 15-minute climb.

This one is biggest and most beautiful waterfall in india..it is just 30 kms from my house... i have gone to a trip with friends walking too and fro from kollem station to thos place few yrs ago ( 6 plus 6 12kms ). You can also go to this waterfall by govt. Tourism vehicles from collem r.s. they charge 800 per person and they drop near the fall from which distance is 600meter by walk... you can trek to the railway route by walking another 1 km through jungle , from where fall is more clearly visible ( but it is prohibited now by rule not to venture in this area and may be prosecuted) but you can enjoy the fall from the place where it is admissible.)

@@abhijithpappachan1447 , people can go from r.s by walking 6 kms through jungle at own risk.. along the routes sides but its risky.... earlier train stopped thr... now I think it don't stop.... but u can very well go after October...

If this is located in Europe or US, they would have made important tourist destinations having millions of footfalls. That could have been possible with good infrastructure facilities. Whereas we have developed any facilities for tourists. In fact tourists are discouraged as it is dangerous to visit.

Pehle rukti thee train , ab nahi rukti, you have to get down at kollem and walk along track for 6 kms to reach thr...
