This is truly a original journey whether Railway or roadway. Both are amazing and Awesome. I love journey towards beaches and western ghats both in railway and roadway
Heavenly feeling. You can enjoy the nature . The journey is enjoyable if you are lucky enough to get a window seat. As we can not stand for 2 to 3 hours in the door. Train goes slow in ghat section for passengers safety.
In Gujarat we always strive for such a heavenly ride of thick forests Only a small portion of such forest ride we find in gir forest. But no match to this train ride. Even North East train ride and konkan railway ride is awesome
Thanks for the excellent Video enjoyed watching it 🙏 Love from Dehradun Uttarakhand 🌹 you have done a great job to give Your South Indian sitting in Northern India. Great Karnataka 🙏

👌👌 Awesome & Amezing... Wow, Nice Capture. Many Many Salute to LOCO PILOT of this Train. Because Many Challenges & Difficulty of his Route. They are Well Control & Drive Train 🚂..
Its amazing, I'm not surprised even shocked to saw such trains were running in such beautiful mountain by Indian Railways I am from Pakistan Kindly tell me how many trains were going such areas and also tell me till how much height from see level these trains can run GOOD WORK DONE INDIAN RAILWAYS PAKISTAN RAILWAYS MUST IMPROVE THEIR STANDARD AND PERFORMANCE LIKE INDIAN RAILWAYS
Now trains are stopped in this section. After opening you can plan the journey. This is a tri weekly train. Plan with family and opt for non ac seats. You will see heaven. Try fresh cooked food served on badam leaf plates, cardamom tea, pakodas in evening too. Believe me the water gushing from above is purer than expensive bottled water.
During the 1980s when this line was metre gauge, we used to travel in the YDM loco hauled trains up and down several times. There were only two trains then. The up train from Mangalore started at 12.30 noon and reached Bangalore early morning next day. There were only three stations between Kabakka Puthur and Sakleshpura. The loco pilots, guard, TTRs and passengers enjoyed a half an hour halt at the picturesque Yedekkumeri station by gulping hot dosa-chutney-sambar and invigourating hot coffee in the cold climate above the mountains of the western ghats. From Kabakka Puthur up to Sakleshpura another loco engine will push the train from the rear side. There were nealy 58 tunnels then. No broad gauge train of today will give you such an enjoyment as we got from those old metre gauge trains. We used to sit in the foot boards of the metre gauge coaches and enjoy the thrilling scenery 😃😃
Thanks for sharing your memories, MG had a different charm and those musical track sounds and the wobbling coaches and the purring YDMs truly nostalgic.

Nice Management by SWR,it's our Karnataka lifeline, single tracks connected to coastal karnataka(Mangalore under Palakkad SR),we want Maintainance of Existing route,Formation Mangalore division under SWR(Coastal KA under Konkan railway) Also connectivity between Mangalore and Hubballi,Davanagere,Gulbarga Directly under SWR
The camera man is extremely professional. He has given his best to shoot the exact location and train turnings and tunnel. It tempted me for a journey. August or September.
Marvellous scenery! I remember reading about the opening of the Hassan - Mangalore section in the late seventies when I was in college. It was the last metre gauge track to be built in India. After that the railways took a policy decision to end metric. Sometime during the nineties, the route was converted to broad gauge. That took a long time which is understandable considering the work involved in widening the dozens of tunnels and redesigning the numerous bridges to accommodate the new, wider trains.
