Agreed I had a used 2016 Kia soul for about four years I financed through drive time it drove from l.a to chino six days a week before I began to have issues with it then just last year I got a brand new 2023 Kia soul g.t line only got to drive it for 10,000 miles without a oil change it worked perfectly fine no issues but last month I had gotten into a horrible accident a police officer hit my soul and basically ripped the front of my soul completely off and 20feet away from where the collision occurred 😢 I should be dead my soul saved my life my car caught on fire it was horrific this month I got another brand new Kia soul g.t line I love them the gas mileage the space inside how easy it is to handle and the safety features I will only ever drive souls I don’t understand the hate buy them new is the best route in my opinion they have amazing warranties and deals in case anything goes wrong with it for as long as I live or god forbid they decide to discontinue them😢😢

this man is a TRIP. he delivers his information in one unbroken sentence... staring dead ahead (eyes on the road of course)... and then, when he's done... tosses a bit of side-eye as he looks at the camera... as if to say... "got it, bitch?" that said, VERY informative, objective and good info that I think a lot will find helpful.

I have just bought a 2024 Kia Soul GT-line with the "wimpy" 2.0 liter 4-cyl. Friends, this car is a sleeper: especially in "sport" mode, this things goes like stink. I LOVE the CV transmission, torque is available instantly (no turbo spool up) and no complicated, expensive 8-sp. dual clutch tranny. The car is solid, quiet, and eats up the freeways. It's a great daily driver: compact, solid and good-looking.

I've had my new Soul GT-line since the end of February. I'm quite happy with it. A very smooth, quiet, comfortable drive. If I have any complaint . . . it's that there's too much technology for my taste. I'm a not very techy sorta guy in my 70's. . . and lack the curiousity to learn.

I just sold my 2010 Kia Soul after 13 years of use as the original owner. I put over 300000km on the car. With minimal repairs up until the end, it certainly help it’s end of the bargain.
I was going to buy another, but went with the 2023 Seltos instead. Likely going to keep it 10+ years as well.
Kia’s finance rates are way better than all other companies right now, which just make the car much more affordable.

My daughter has a 2016 Soul that we paid off and gave to her and the wife has a 2021 Seltos. They both love them. they were both inspected by a dealer we trust with a good reputation and checked out OK, so they are free of the engine defects. All our cars are owned. I don't like being in debt forever so I don't lease. I did it once and never will again. Zero car payments a month beats any other price per month.

I've had 3 Soul's since they first went on sale in the USA. They have been trouble free and a pleasure to drive. When I bought my latest Soul a 2023 Soul EX, I noticed there were not many in stock so I had few color choices. I get the feeling Kia may be considering discontinuing the Soul. Whatever happens I have enjoyed my Kia Soul's and I recommend the car.

The Soul used to be a reliable car until Kia went with an IVT transmission. I'm on my second Soul (2020), which has said transmission. The transmission failed at 3 years and a little over 50000. Transmission was replaced under warranty. New transmission didn't even last 500 miles. The IVT has been a continuing problem for the Soul. One the main complaints on the Kia Soul Form is the transmission failure. Until they solve the problems with the IVT transmission, I will never purchase another Kia. In addition, if it's anything other than routine maintenance, your car will be held in Kia purgatory for who know how long while things get sent up and down the techline chain.

It's the first vehicle I ever owned where I wanted another one. Kept up with all the maintenance on both. The thing with the IVT, which has been in since 2020 model year, is it's a crapshoot. You may get a long life out of it but it can just as easily give up the ghost before 50,000 miles. Per Kia Soul Forum, even 2022 models are still having issues with that IVT. For me more than anything, it's the customer service if it's anything other than routine maintenance. They treat their loyal customers like crap.

Thank you. I just turned in a leased 2021 Seltos EX, and because of the low inventory, had to downgrade to a Soul LX with the technology package. Prices have significantly increased since I first leased the Seltos, and I am now paying $50 per month more for the Soul than I was paying for the Seltos, which, if it was available, would have been in the $400s per month. I am happy with the Soul as of now, but hope to get back into a Seltos or, if affordable, a larger model at the end of this 36-month lease. But despite the slightly smaller size of the Soul, it is quite roomy. Great indication of that is that my Seltos all-weather floor mats, fit perfectly in the Soul. In terms of recalls, I have owned and leased various other vehicles from different manufacturers, and have never had a vehicle that wasn't recalled at least once for something significant.

For some unexplained reason possibly temporarily insanity I bought a new Kia Soul in 2016. It was possibly the worst car I had ever owned. I was a victim of the engine issues that were mentioned in this video. My 2.0 liter direct injection engine suffered catastrophic failure at 70,000 miles. Luckily Kia did honor the 100k mile powertrain warranty and they fitted the car with a remanufactured engine. I traded the car in within two weeks of getting it back. I could not in good conscience recommend a Kia Soul to anyone.

Lots of misinformation in this video, probably because half the time it seems like your videos heavily rely on online info and aren't fact-checked. First off, the base engine in the Seltos is not the one in the recalls. It uses a Nu 2.0L Atkinson Cycle engine (G4NH) which is a Nu MPi engine. The recall was for the Nu GDi engine, and mainly the Theta II engines. Secondly, while the Corolla Cross does have more cargo/cabin space when the rear seats are folded, it has less rear legroom with the seats up. And it doesn't even have more cargo/cabin space if it's the AWD model.
Pretty useless video for potential car buyers if they've done any kind of actual research. And even if they haven't this just provides incorrect info.

    • @carhelpcorner
      @carhelpcorner  Рік тому

What are you talking about? The 2021 Seltos with the 2.0L engine was recalled for piston rings that were not properly heat treated and could lead to total engine failure or fire. 150,000 cars were recalled. There were multiple recalls involving multiple engine problems with different Kia engines all of which led to failures and fires.

One thing potential buyers need to look at IF you're tendency is to retain vehicles is how many miles/year are you gonna put on it? I'm retired and don't make many long trips anymore and therefore I rarely drive more than about 5k miles/year. But IF you put the average of 12k miles/year on you may wanna consider alternatives like Toyota. Finally nowadays you need to pay in cash if possible as interest and insurance costs are nasty. Finally learn how to drive! Most people cannot drive for shit. Smooth driving is a must on these cheaper vehicles or maintenance is gonna be nightmare. He's talking performance as well. Tell you what 8 seconds to 60 mph is plenty fast enough. I drive a 7.3 diesel and it takes forever to get to 60 but I still have no issues merging with interstate traffic.

So, when I have to add the oil, which is just full synthetic like Castrol 5 W 20. It burns more oil as the oil gets dirty and it does get dirty. David you sound like a young man. Look you GOTTA purchase something you can afford! Nowadays is tough due to the high interest rates and NOW you got shit for credit on the repo. You really need to take a step back, stay within budget. Don't purchase on plastic and don't carry balances interest is eating you and it buys you absolutely NOTHING, okay?

A wet dual clutch automatic transmission is longer lasting than a dry one. Ford also had a lot of problems with the dry dual clutch for the Focus and Fiesta. I think the new Sportage looks great, but the reliability is unknown.

The Soul really needs a redo. It’s had the same body forever. It’s very dated.
