The Soul is (and has been) a really good car. Economical, affordable, practical, a little quirky. I've seen everyone from Gen Z to Seniors driving them. We need more cars like that!
I actually love this little car it's fun to drive, easy to park, good on gas, and you can pack things in it pretty well, I hope they keep it around I love it
I just bought that same model and I actually had to wait two weeks for it to get here because they’re in such high demand. I’m so happy that they did not decide to get rid of their Soul because this is actually the third one that I bought and I love these little cars❤
@Creole Bunny Honestly, I love the safety features. The only issue that I wish that they had was heated seats because I have back problems but other than that so far I’ve had it for two months and love it.
I like the color. I think it works. I think Kia was smart to keep this car around. There’s a market for it and now they’re the only car company that offers something like this. Great job 👍
I've always thought they should make an off road version of the Soul. All wheel drive, higher ride height and aggressive looking tires is all it would need.
Purchased this beauty last week. GT in surf blue with the black roof. Best $24,820 spent! It’s truly a bargain by today’s ridiculously priced vehicles. It’s by no means of speed demon but it’s got the cool factor and I look for that more than speed for those of you in the market for a small SUV be sure to give this one a look. It just may surprise you!
I have this car ordered! Thank you so much for showing it. I am waiting for it to come in in October. Ordered in this color combo, too! Now I can’t wait even more! So excited. I have a 2013 Soul now that I have been very happy with so much so that I am getting another one. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!
I seriously considered a new base Kia Soul with manual in late 17. Heavily discounted under 14k. Then, I test drove a low mileage 2015 XB manual. It felt way better on the road, engine more torque, higher quality, better space, Loved the instrumentation. I got it $4000 less and zero complaints. It’ll be with me for years.
I just picked this exact model and color car up for my 17 year old daughter today . I think Kia makes great cars and the Soul is perfect for young new drivers. Visibility, safety features easy to drive..(I wish LED lamps were included). We own a 22 Gt-line K5 and a 22 Sorrento and are happy with all of them. Always love watching your reviews! Funny,Corny, and thorough !!! Keep up the good work !
LED is available, but it's on the GT-Line with the option package. Kia should make the LED standard on all models. If Toyota & Honda can do it, so can they.
Great review as always, Joe. I actually had a Kia Soul as a rental and I was surprised we got our entire foursome and our golf clubs in the vehicle and it was pretty comfortable. It actually surprised me.
I am on my second Kia Soul. The main thing I would change is I would make the front passenger seat fold forward flat. I have a manual transmission. Need a little more power, downshift and you have it.
Man you don't know how much I have enjoyed this Soul video, you are unique, the way you describe things is funny but you get the attention from the customers, I am a proud owner of a 21LX Soul and I don't see much difference with mine. I am very impressed with the fuel economy these Soul has, mine makes 30 to 35 mpg in the city and 40 to 45 mpg in the highway. Definitively is a good choice when buying a small SUV, thanks for your detailed description.
I have a 2011 for 8 years now. Excellant high head room and I can put my bicycle inside once seats are laid down. It kicks along pretty good. I hit a deer going 60 and it can take a hit head on.
I have a brand-new 2022 soul LX with the safety feature additional package on it I can't think of what the name of it is again right now I've got 3000 miles on it I've had it for three months and honestly I am thrilled to death with it just a super great car super fun to drive and the way it looksI get so many comments from people saying how much they like it.
Just got a '21 Soul off lease. Downsized from a Grand Caravan. I'm happy. It'd be nice if some parts (door panels) were soft touch materials, but that would probably increase the cost. Not a deal breaker for me. Can move my wife and kids with ease.
Im happy with my 2020 Inferno red and Cherry Black GT line with the 2.0L This S has a lot of options and features that mine doest even tough its a GT Line. The soul handles incredbly well at 120 mph. Its not the most powerful out there but it will get up and going to merge on to the highway. I drive my GT line very aggressively and get the tires to spin and fight traction but its fun quirky and just perfect for what I need day to day especially when the gas prices went up. Loved the review.
I have a 2005 Honda Element with only 68000 miles. Manual Transmission FWD, the Element won that box competition for utility but I have driven The Soul many times for weeks on end , it's much more comfortable and fun to drive.
Im currently driving this car as a loner from Lancaster Kia in PA although its a base model- I LOVE this car! I do door dash and ride share and its perfect- quick around the corners with just the right amount of pep- oh, and the sunroof is a nice touch- Note- my 23 Kia Sportage Hybrid "Zonked" out on me with only 25k miles- left me sit a mile from my house complete loss of power- Ill be trading that huge disappointment asap- Hoping Kia buys it back and ill just drive this! We Just(1week ago) purchased the 2023 KIA Soul LX after driving a 2011 KIA Forte EX for 12 years. Enjoyed our Forte! We are missing some of the features we had on our Forte like the fold down cup holder in the back seat and the signal lights on our side mirrors! Not sure why they removed those! Some things you shouldn’t change. Overall, we like the car! And do plan to take it to the beach, but without kids. We are seniors with adult children and and nearly adult grandchildren.😢 We purchased the Mars Orange color Soul. It’s very nice. We liked your review. A good review of the 2023 Soul.
We rented a Soul earlier this year. The CVT was better than I thought it would be. It is a small vehicle. I really noticed it when driving on the highway. I found the Soul to be very jittery on the highway. Around the city it was a good car and the gas mileage was great.
Those 16in wheels on the LX & S trim does that but, you get excellent fuel economy at 37 MPG highway real-world driving. The 17in wheels on the EX make it more stable on the highway while maintaining ride comfort and increasing fuel economy to 35 MPG. The GT-Line trim with its 18in wheel make the Soul the most stabilize on the highway and the most handling grip, but ride quality suffered the most with highway fuel economy tops at 33 MPG.
I have this engine in my 2018 Elantra SE. It's a base model. I even have a manual transmission. I have 98k. I get around 44-45 mpg in summer time. I change the oil every 4k with synthetic oil and a good filter. At idle, sounds brand new. No engine issues to speak off. However the trade off for that gas mileage is that the car has no power. I mean it gets around but it's slow to go. I'd consider this kia, but only in a manual.
Unfortunately they are not making any more manuals even in the base LX trim. My daughter had a 2013 ! with manual and Houndstooth interior. She got rid of it because of issues with her knees and the clutch action. I wish I would have bought it looking back.
That's why this generation Soul have a IVT to extract all the power from this motor, and it does a excellent job. It's the most the responsive non-sport CVT I ever tested.

The Soul succeeded cause we got all these, in addition to better interior materials and engine choices. Having said that, the 2nd gen Soul was the best looking…current gen’s nose is too long, making it look awkward (love the headlights, though).

My friend has a 22 green Soul. He's happy with it, I like the roominess and gas mileage. My question is will it burn oil or will it catch on fire? Wouldn't a Mazda CX 30 be a better choice?
Every time I see this on road I can't imagine how they (Kia) think this is a beautiful car... They should go for a completely new redesign, and give it a new soul. hehe

I miss those old commercials of the kia soul with the hammers performing funny stuff.
One of the things that is rarely mentioned is the verticalness gives class leading headroom and the cargo benefits from it.

Every time I see this on road I can't imagine how they (Kia) think this is a beautiful car... They should go for a completely new redesign, and give it a new soul. hehe
and apply this paint color to more cars while theyre at it
KIA - Dare to be different 😂
I always picture a hamster driving
Did they change the obnoxious loud horn?
