I bought a 2019 Subaru Forester Limited and received it in July of 2019. I've put 238 000 km on it so far. 1st brake job at 212 000 km! 2nd set of tires at 120 000 km. We've taken this vehicle everywhere. I can't say enough about it. Would definitely buy again.
Recently did a lot of research before purchasing a used SUV. My impression after reading numerous articles by mechanics, auto magazines, is that repairing Suberus is more expensive than other SUVs. For that reason, I chose a 2016 Toyota RAV4, because of it's record for reliability, safety, resale value. One of my most important lessons in pre-purchase used car buying is the reliability, operation, structure on any vehicle varies from year to year, and it is wise to become informed about which years to look for, which ones to avoid.
I do agree with you that Toyota RAV4 is one of the most reliable CUVs, if not the most reliable one. It has proven itself over the course of many years in the hostile environment of the Middle East. Keep up the good work.

I’m on my 3rd Mazda… 2 CX5’s with a CX9 in between; I bought the 2013 first year model and now drive ‘21 Grand Touring because I loved it so much. I also had wonderful luck with an early model Honda CRV. I don’t think you can go wrong with Mazda, Honda, or Toyota. My sister loves her Subaru but it seems her repair costs are far higher than mine regarding preventive maintenance and also repairs. Great video! Thank you for helping us make better choices!
I recently purchased a CX-5 Grand Touring in Soul Red. It is a head turner! Everyone comments on what a beautifully designed SUV it is inside and out. It's performance is plenty for me and I really enjoy the Bose sound system for a long road trip. I'm not in love with the Infotainment system that uses a "Commander" knob instead of a touch screen but I'm getting used to it. The seats could have more lumbar support but the seating position is very comfortable. One more thing, the cabin is QUIET. Really quiet. Bordering on luxury level. The fit and finishes are spot on. Overall, I'm in love with this car. Happy I chose this over another oil sucking Subaru. Time will tell how reliable it is but it's history is very promising. Definitely test drive the CX-5 if you are in the market for a small SUV. It's well worth it.
I am thinking of getting CX-5 too and wanna know your experience. Did you get Turbo or regular one? Which year and does your version have android auto? I am stuck between turbo and na but I am going more towards na because turbo is unpredictable. Do you love the speed of it and maneuvering?
HEAD'S UP on the Forester! I had a Subaru Forester I purchased in 2022 ...until last week. I absolutely loved it! Drives well, sits high, good power, relatively good mileage, lots of interior space for hauling (if I centered a 7ft board over the console, it would fit ... I'm a woodworker). Nice display and fairly easy to figure out features (but I had the model that wasn't fully Bluetooth, so I had to plug in the USB to get Maps) and had a moonroof I didn't want, but it was a 2020 with just over 4k miles and in nearly pristine condition. Until ... My sis and I were starting our vacation and didn't make it out of town before a deer decided to dart across 4 lanes of traffic on a major freeway. We didn't see it until the truck beside us hit the brakes. Then BAM. Just barely enough time to hit our brakes. Totaled the engine compartment. I get crumple zones and I have to say that my sis and I didn't feel much of an impact at all. Airbags didn't deploy (and it seemed weird). But the battery was shoved half way into the engine compartment and the windshield wiper reservoir ended up near the firewall. After about 5 minutes, I noticed that there was flame coming from near the firewall and we smelled fuel. That shouldn't have happened. Car was completely engulfed before Fire got there. We were totally fine and never even sore. Managed to get all of our stuff out too. Just stood there watching it burn and listening to the airbags and tires explode while waiting for the State Police and Fire. Apparently, the Forester seems to have an issue with minor accidents resulting in fires. Having been told this by my ins co., I took their advice and reported the incident to NHSTA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). I gather many of these incidents seem like par for the course with that kind of frontal damage, but I know better. Cars should crumple, but not catch fire. While I LOVED the Forester, I'm a bit hesitant to get another. Just a head's up.
BTW - don't think they sell them in the US but we bought a 2016 Skoda Yeti, 109,000 km on it now, solid feel, drives great, love it or hate it looks, very peppy acceleration......highly recommended.
I'm not surprised that the vehicles listed are all from Japanese makes. Reliability has been part of their legacy for decades. I currently own a 2020 Honda CR-V and I absolutely love it.
Yeah, it's a shame, too. I've owned Ford, GM, and Chrysler vehicles. While quality has improved quite a bit over the years, they still aren't there. They just don't hold up as well. Of course, any vehicle can become problematic, but on the whole, Japan still makes more reliable vehicles. I currently own a Chevy, Honda, Toyota, and Mazda. The Japanese models were all made there. The Chevy is newer and has fewer miles than all, but the Honda, and it has by far required the most repairs. I have to laugh ... our Toyota is 17 years old with well over 200K miles. It looks like hell, dings, scratches, etc, and it is never in the shop, and when it's time to change the oil, it looks almost like fresh oil.
surprised Kia is not on the list. I've bought three new Kia SUV/Crossovers, Sorento, Soltos and Sportage the past 10ish years and 5 KIA's total (two used forte's that were EoL when we got them). Kia is the best brand i've delt with. They got a very bad (and deserved) reputation 20/30 years ago but they are pretty great now. their warranties are hard to beat. If something goes wrong they don't mess around. I've had Ford, Jeep and Cadillac SUVs previously. I find it hard i'd ever go back to any of those brands, at least not new ones.
Awesome! Bought 2024 RAV4 hybrid…..and getting 40.6 mpg….I love the hybrid technology and I’ve changed my driving habits a bit to accommodate the hybrid technology, but it’s got power and goes down the highway very well……not at all disappointed…I really like it a lot….
I live in West Sussex, England. I saw a 2007 RAV 4 recently in the shopping car park. Spoke to the owner, he bought it new. Almost 16 years old his car. Done 128,000 miles. Regular service. No other unplanned costs. Raved about his RAV. Value for money extrordinaire.
I'll go with Subaru not only because of the quality and reliability of the product but because of high standard of safety for having 5 stars rating in European New Car Assessment Program Euro NCAP and Australian NCAP and high emissions standard.
Well, I have a Subaru outback 10 years old 70,000 miles. I get about 15-16 mpg which is not good. I’m the only driver. Car well maintained and never on long trips except for when car was new and I visited my parents which was a 13 hr drive of which all but a couple or three hours on two lane road was all interstate. Turned out cam is bad and will cost $3000 to fix. Time for a new car. It it won’t be Subaru. Looking at Hondas but they have had their share of problems also 3:24
What kind of interesting because I also have a 2021 Forester and I find it one of the most annoying vehicles I have ever owned. First, the minute you get into the car the radio comes on which any good mechanic knows you should listen to your engine when you first start driving your car. Second, the eye safety feature makes the car shake constantly when you look quickly checked the left or right so you don't hit somebody. The seatbelt is super annoying because if you don't plug it in even if you just want to pull it 5 ft 4 in into your garage the alarm starts going off and to make matters worse after goes off for a couple seconds and if you don't plug it in then it goes off even louder. Really annoying feature. Lastly, the engine shut-off feature when you're at a stop is Superbad on the car because the number one thing that wears out the starter or starts and stops. They'll try to tell you that it isn't completely stopping the car but I call it the Emperor who wore no clothes. It's obviously shutting off the engine and restarting it. Now at about 50,000 miles the starter is beginning to fail which is going to be a nice chunk of change. I'm not a fan of this car.
It would be nice if Toyota would do some work on the RAV to make it more enjoyable. Better interior finishes and much less noise. Keep the rustic ones, too for off-roading but some niceness for those who never want an off-roader. Of these I would choose the CC hybrid for the money. Wouldn't pick a non-hybrid even though some nice choices. Also, Lexus UX is a great little urban runaround that is also very comfortable on the highway.
Wife is test driving new vehicles right now. She immediately eliminated the RAV4 for the reasons you describe. She found it uncomfortable and unrefined compared to the competition. I had put it on her list for the traditional selling points, resale, reliability, etc. She was a hard no on that car.
I test drove the RAV4 this week and was really disappointed for the same reasons. It was very uncomfortable and I was not impressed at how it handled the road. The Venza was the most comfortable and impressive and I am on the hunt now. The CRV was also very comfortable...love the hybrid but bummed about no spare tire.
We bought a 2021 Forester Touring new and have been very pleased with the vehicle. The quality and fit and finish are impeccable. Not a single flaw we could find. Now, over 30,000 miles later and it still drives like new. Great mileage and a luxurious interior. Plenty of power to cruise at 80-85 mph all day. Love our Subie!
Yesterday for the first time I purchased a new vehicle and not used. I had just purchased a 2019 RAV4 Hybrid Limited with only 20.7 K miles but my mechanic told me I could get a new 2024 RAV4 for about the same price and after additional research I turned the hybrid back in for a full refund and instead purchased a new 2024 RAV4 for actually $3.2 K less that had the features I needed plus better screen tech features (no JBL sound system but no need for a lifetime warranty to cover the 5 yo hybrid battery which saved $3K). Thank you for this video as it confirmed my choice. While I would’ve loved to have purchased a hybrid, in my case, it doesn’t make sense as I only drive about 4K miles per year, and I also learned that may not be good for a hybrid engine in the long run.
Last year I bought a Forester Touring with the saddle brown leather interior. I looked at the CX50, but I couldn’t get it with tan or brown interior unless I went with the turbo. I looked at the Venza and LOVED it but it has only 1990 gloomy gray or death black interior. I then looked at the RAV4 AWD hybrid. The fit and finish, road noise, comfort and rear visibility were subpar with my 11 Rav 4WD Limited. This is why I chose the Subaru.
You are so lucky! I just learned about the Venza this week while test driving lots of different makes/models...so hard to find one now! The LE especially....fingers crossed
I got my Ford EcoSport in 2019, it's been very, very reliable, never had any issue with it. I don't like the fact that it doesn't have a spare tire. But other than that, love the car, great fuel economy, easy to maneuver, easy to park, and its quiet. The EcoSport was designed in Asia for the Asian Market. Ford is still selling the EcoSport in South America, and in Asia, but no longer sells new EcoSport's in the United States.
Thank you . I will definitely try to get your help in getting a deal but most likely at the end of the year. I’ve been driving my Vibe for 15 years now and since it’s a Matrix clone, I have not any major problems whatsoever but it’s time to get my retirement car lol. I might consider test driving 3 cars. Mazda CX 50, Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid and the Toyota Venza hybrid
Great review. I'd also love to see comments on road noise and seat comfort. Much love to my 15-year-old Suzuki but I can't do noisy econo-boxes anymore.
I have a Nissan 2011 Altima top of the line leather seats great fog lights map lights console in the middle two cup holders in the middle of back seat turn lights on both side mirrors want to get a new car not sure but your information is very helpful thoughts about RAV4 have been helpful 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I have owned 2 Honda CRV's now. I bought a 2017, with the "earth dreams" engine. Never had a single issue. I sold it with 130K+ miles for a great price. The replacement was a 2021 Toyota Highlander. Although the Highlander was an awesome vehicle it was overkill for my needs. It got a very good price. I went back to a 2020 Honda CRV. I do not regret it one bit! Honda made some nice upgrades over those years that just make it so much better. I did debate buying the new "Gen" hybrid. The pricing seemed "out of touch", and I did not care for the interior. Now as I see them on the road the exterior also looks less sexy. Regardless, the mpg of the 6th generation CRV with the hybrid setup seemed too expensive for what you get. I have been getting almost the same mileage with my 2020 Honda CRV, and I paid half the price.
I’m picking up a 2022 crv ex tomorrow with just under 7.000 on the clock, I had two new Kia’s before that but the last one GTS was a nightmare spent hours on the side of the road waiting for the transmission to cool down and that was after I had a new gear box replaced, hopefully the Honda will be better lol
The CX-30 Turbo tops the list here. It has GREAT speed and refinement, nice Bose sound system, very reliable. But there are 2 drawbacks to the CX30. It has a small gas tank, and it is not as spacious as the others.
I just got a CX-30 non turbo, the tank is small but the gas mileage is so good it isn’t as much as an issue as it would be if you have the turbo. The back seat is tiny but I rarely ever have anyone else in the car with me. 99% of the time its just me.
The “big three” used to be Ford, General Motors and Chrysler. I propose we call Mazda, Toyota and Suburu the “better three”! Especially in the quality category! Love me some Japanese cars!
I bought a CRV hybrid in 2023. So far I'm pleased with the vehicle. I wanted to buy the RAV4 hybrid but the dealerships around here all wanted $10,000 market adjustment; moreover, they didn't even have any to test drive, they wanted a $2,000 mon refundable deposit to order it, and I'd would have had to wait 8 months to receive it. I considered it an absurd proposition and left. I went to Honda a test drove the CRV hybrid. I liked it and they were willing to sell it at MSRP. So while the RAV4 may be a better choice, the Toyota dealerships leave much to be desired.
Is the VoltsWagon Atlas a good SUV to buy or the Chrysler Pacifica better looking for a vehicle with a lot of storage space with ok gas mileage and not that expensive to keep on the road
@@powertools2375 I had a Dodge Journey 4 years ago it was a good little SUV until I took it to the Dodge dealership because it broke down near the dealership. After I had them fix it it kept breaking. They made it worse till I had enough and traded it in for a Toyota Corolla.
I am looking for an SUV, saw the Lexus UX and thought it was a very nice car. Can’t seem to find an SUV with electric folding side mirrors and a heads up display. Can you give info on the Lexus UX hybrid?
The best outta of all these is the Mazda CX-5. It wins in every category, maybe not on the infotainment. It was the only car that got the perfect score on the safety rating.
I just ordered a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness in Winnipeg. Apparently, all Canadian Crosstreks will be manufactured in Japan. I was told they are no longer manufacturing the 2023 models.
@Rhonda Simpson ... Thats good to know. Ive heard Japan cars are made perfect. I'm in Toronto, a rep told me arrival would be July-August 2023 for the 2024. I've got a 2023 Rav4 Limited coming in week or so but I've really liked what I see in the Crosstrek. Considering a switch if I can. I put a 1,000.00 down. Have a great day!!
Im looking for a small SUV with good towing capacity. I was disappointed to the see the Chevy Blazer as a top 10 SUV to not buy due to its history with the 3.6L V6 engine. The Subaru Forester looked nice until it was mentioned it sort of does not show strength. What do I get? The Toyota Rav4????
Maybe some of the people in this community can help. I'm currently driving an 07 Altima 2.5 S, 196000 miles. Looking to trade in to something that can meet these requirements. Doesn't need to stay a sedan. - Something that can operate in peak summer and deep winter (I live in the great lakes region, we can get lots of snow) - Something with an interior to accommodate a BIG BOI (6'4" 370lbs, NO MOON ROOFS) - Something 'sport adjacent' (Altima has 170hp and feels quite zippy, I don't wanna dip too far below that if possible) - If used, closer to 100k than 200k miles Looking at around $5-6k down, around 15K for used, or low 20Ks new perhaps. Any recommendations you can provide would be appreciated!
Did you find a good replacement? I had a 2017 Nissan Altima not a great car. Have you looked at the Honda CRV, Lexus RX, or Mercedes ML series? My friend raves about the room in her Acura MDX SUV.
I'm a university student, who also has a part time job. I'm going to be spending so much time on the road. If I'm looking to put 40k on a suv, which one should I go for?
I have had Subarus for 40 years. Great reliability and the best AWD vehicle in the winter. I have a Subaru Foester Wilderness. Best vehicle ever! Great in snow and off road.
Hi, great videos. How would You compare de HRV vs Mazda cx30 and or Toyota Cross. In Mexico the only problem with Toyotas, is that the dealership does not practically sell You the car unless You buy through their own Financer. Thus its easier and more confortable, and receive a better treatment in other dealerships, as Honda, Mazda, Kia, Hyundai, VW, etc. Sticking to my question, between hrv, mazda 30 or cross?, what´s your choice?.
We bought the Lexus UX200, 3 years ago. However, if I was to pick from this group of small SUVs, I would only consider the Toyota Cross Hybrid. It offers so much for so much less, that I wouldn't be able to resist the money saved; knowing I'm getting superlative Toyota quality and resale value. My second choice (not on the list) would be the Lexus UX Hybrid, if you want to go to a more luxurious marque. I do like the Mazda offerings, if you want a more cushioned, less "crisp" handling. However, the entire list contains some really excellent vehicles. Great picks, every one.👍
Actually, the mazda products have far more "crisp" handling that the other marques you commented on. You seem to be confusing crisp handling with cushy ride
I agree with your comments! You have done your homework, and/or are much more intelligent than average. But I'm biased. I've just purchased a 2022 Toyota RAV4 XLE Hybrid.
Mr. Car help corner, what do you have about Mazda Axela? To me its convenient but I don't have a full package concerning it. Tell more about it please.
I’m not a big fan of Japanese cars. But Mazda is way excellently choice. Reliable. Better fuel efficient. Fun to drive. That blows Toyotas and Hondas out of water period
Fords are rolling piles of junk. GM is partial owned by SAIC China. Stellantis? Need I say more. The Japanese know how to build quality vehicles. Not perfect though.
Thanks for this list. I need a car and the Rav4 was my top choice but unfortunately the price of them currently is simply not worth what you are getting. The Honda CRV is off the table due to lack of spare tire and I don't like the boxer engines on the Subarus as maintenance is a real pain. I think my new favorite may be the Mazda CX-50.
Mitsubishi XForce the best modern feature and design ultimate driving performance and handling stability, mazda ,honda ,nissan, toyota also very easier to maintain and repair
I'm in the market for a small SUV , I am very worried about CVT Transmissions . How reliable are the CVTs in these choices as I have been burned by a $5000 repair on my Nissan (I know!) So far I'm only looking at Mazda because of their normal transmissions, but others do look interesting . I plan to keep this car at least 10 years . Thoughts?
Toyota and Honda use eCVTS which are much more reliable than Subarus cvts I was in the market for one and one of the mechanics said Subaru owners just accept the fact that their transmissions will need to be replaced around 100k miles.
I recently traded in my 2016 Honda HRV. The CVT broke as I was driving with my kiddos in the car. Very scary experience to say the least. Granted we are in 2023 and perhaps CVT’s have come a long way but my faith in them is gone. I now have a Hyundai Tucson.
I know Nissan has gotten a bad reputation in recent years due to its problematic Jatco CVT, but not all CVT's are bad. Honda and Toyota for the most part have reliable CVT's. I own a 2020 Honda CR-V with a CVT, and I have no issues with mines. My good friend also owns a 2013 Honda Accord with a CVT with close to 200K miles on it and it's still running strong with the original CVT.
I’m waiting on my 2023 Toyota RAV4 to come in. It was supposed to have come in last Friday but has been delayed a few weeks. I’m really looking forward to getting it! I enjoyed watching this video, especially with you, saying the RAV4 is number one! It made me feel good to know that I made a good choice!
Hi, I am surprised that you have not included Nissan Rogue, want to understand the reasons why it was not included in your list. Can you please explain?
Hope you can give feedback. I'm looking to pay 35k-37ks for an AWD/4x4 SUV as i drive in snow and I also drive 15-17k miles a year. I want to keep this for well over 10 years any suggestions?
Been in the market for something similar and sharing my thoughts if it helps. You could aim for a close to full option of new CX-5/50, Forester, Rouge (2021+), or CPO options for a Highlander or Lexus. And for a non-traditional suggestion, See if you get lucky to find a 2016-17 CPO Cayenne hybrid (hybrid purely for better mpg since the other one has ~20mpg) in that price range. They're phenomenal and outstanding to drive, but would be ideal if you live in a place where a Porsche dealership is accessible. Otherwise it's a no no. Good luck in shopping!
As an auto/aircraft mechanic for over 40 years Toyota and Honda are the best vehicles hands down. 5K oil change will make them almost lifetime !

RAV4 Adventure. Not as fuel efficient, but rock-solid. Should you decide to sell it, it will have much residual value.@@statnotes6339

That's cool.
I own a 2002 Honda CR-V (purchased it in 2012) and it just hit 200,000 miles the beginning of this year. It still runs great!

Like your review, but need to know about lumbar seats and back support. Thanks 🙏

Have '22 Hybrid RAV4, absolutely love it!
Had the '03 4Runner prior for almost 20 yrs and looking for the same on my RAV.
I'll go with Subaru not only because of the quality and reliability of the product but because of high standard of safety for having 5 stars rating in European New Car Assessment Program Euro NCAP and Australian NCAP and high emissions standard.
as long as you dont mind driving the same car as all the LGBQTDW39 ers out there then ya, buy a lame Subaru
I've got a 2021 Forrester and I am still in love with this car! It runs like a top, gets me wherever I need to go and I've consistently gotten 36MPG!
Thanks for that review.
@@Learningthetruth7isn’t there a way to turn off the Eyesight warnings?
We’ve been buying Subaru’s for 40+ years - they are so reliable. They run forever - as with all cars - if you keep them maintained
I'm in the market now for one. I love Toyotas. My first vehicle was a RAV4. I have been looking at the Forrester, though, and the Honda CRV. 🙂
My mom has a 2009 Subaru Impreza non turbo almost hitting 400k miles on original engine
@@alvaroooo17 Wow! That's awesome.
Suburbs are boring vehicles.
Hi. I was wondering if you have given your opinion on the Toyota's cablegate?
Hi, I’m from Europe, it’s rav 4 good car for 10 years minimum? I need quality. Thank you
2021 RAV4 XLE premium hybrid with no issues.
I’m very happy with my choice
Thank you, i have 2021 HRV and i love its so much
Last year I bought a Forester Touring with the saddle brown leather interior.
Why would we care what color ur seats are lmaooo
Cooler if lighter interior especially in a state that is hot Sunny
@@deborahblount8571 I agree, but every automaker has a Hard-On for the 1990 Gloomy Gray or Death Black interiors.
I researched and got the 2021 Venza-loved it so much, I’m upgrading to a 2023 in a couple weeks!!!! Love the Venza!!!!!
Venda drives like a luxury vehicle…very nice!
You are so lucky! I just learned about the Venza this week while test driving lots of different makes/models...so hard to find one now! The LE especially....fingers crossed
I bought a hybrid sport CRV for 33k in the US. It's not the top model, but it is hybrid. Seemed like the best value atleast for me in thr US.
Ever since I got my license I've been driving my mother's Ford EcoSport and that thing is such a fun car to drive!
Can you tell me about the defender Land Rover, is this good to buy
Great review. I'd also love to see comments on road noise and seat comfort. Much love to my 15-year-old Suzuki but I can't do noisy econo-boxes anymore.
which stage should you put Terrain ?
Hi. Got the Subaru Crosstrek at the end of March. Very happy! I had been driving a 2008 RAV4. Base model, very reliable but bouncy and loud.
That crosstalk is cute! How is the ride? Is it smooth?
You right for the CRV. I have 2019 model and I get 33-34 mpg.
No worries! You made a great decision!@@Molesy66
Love to get Subaru, Repair costs are high and frequent. Any feedback?
CX5,CRV,RAV4 how to choose?😢
Im between a RAV4 and HRV.. family of 4 any help??
I have an '05 Forester 2.5 XT with manual and that thing is still holding up today.
Does anyone know about the Corolla Cross complains about excessive road noise?
Hello can you please provide your views on the Hyundai Tuscan. Thanks
I just bought the RAV4 Hybrid after also trying the Corolla Cross and the Mercedes GLB250, the RAV4 just have a better package and is a better SUV
The “big three” used to be Ford, General Motors and Chrysler. I propose we call Mazda, Toyota and Suburu the “better three”! Especially in the quality category! Love me some Japanese cars!
Nah, replace Subaru with Honda. Flat 4 cylinders are a nightmare to work on and their prone to other issues as well.
As a 2018 cross trek owner, I can confirm it’s true lol the starter failed on me and it has less than 55k miles on it
I’m sold on the Corolla Cross ❤
I have the Toyota rav hybrid and we love it
I bought a CRV hybrid in 2023.
I bought the Toyota yaris cross hybrid suv last year 2022 and it regularly gets 66 MPG its a great car to drive 🤷🏼♂️🇬🇧
Where did you buy? In US?
Is the VoltsWagon Atlas a good SUV to buy or the Chrysler Pacifica better looking for a vehicle with a lot of storage space with ok gas mileage and not that expensive to keep on the road
I’ve been burned by Vw and dodge I don’t recommend either. But that is my opinion of course
@@powertools2375 I had a Dodge Journey 4 years ago it was a good little SUV until I took it to the Dodge dealership because it broke down near the dealership. After I had them fix it it kept breaking. They made it worse till I had enough and traded it in for a Toyota Corolla.
What are your views on the Toyota Yaris Cross
I am looking for an SUV, saw the Lexus UX and thought it was a very nice car. Can’t seem to find an SUV with electric folding side mirrors and a heads up display. Can you give info on the Lexus UX hybrid?
There is the RAV4, and then a bunch of others. Hard to beat a TOYOTA, and the RAV4 in particular.
Yep. I love the "Ravi." 🙂
Except the highway noise @@notmebutyou8350
The best outta of all these is the Mazda CX-5. It wins in every category, maybe not on the infotainment. It was the only car that got the perfect score on the safety rating.
@@fr7198 well i really don’t care if I’m buried in gold trim casket or a pine box, I’m still dead !!!
Subaru Crosstrek 2.5 sport is my choice, it is great for me as an older driver.
Amazing review as usual.Still waiting for a comparison between manual WRX and new Type R
I just ordered a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness in Winnipeg. Apparently, all Canadian Crosstreks will be manufactured in Japan. I was told they are no longer manufacturing the 2023 models.
What is the expected wait time?
@Rhonda Simpson ... Thats good to know. Ive heard Japan cars are made perfect. I'm in Toronto, a rep told me arrival would be July-August 2023 for the 2024. I've got a 2023 Rav4 Limited coming in week or so but I've really liked what I see in the Crosstrek. Considering a switch if I can. I put a 1,000.00 down. Have a great day!!
Does Renult Koleos sells in US, seems a reliable SUV as well
Im looking for a small SUV with good towing capacity. I was disappointed to the see the Chevy Blazer as a top 10 SUV to not buy due to its history with the 3.6L V6 engine. The Subaru Forester looked nice until it was mentioned it sort of does not show strength. What do I get? The Toyota Rav4????
I bought the 2023 Honda HR-V sport. I love to!
Thank you for including the Canadian prices! Much appreciated!
Maybe some of the people in this community can help. I'm currently driving an 07 Altima 2.5 S, 196000 miles. Looking to trade in to something that can meet these requirements. Doesn't need to stay a sedan.
- Something that can operate in peak summer and deep winter (I live in the great lakes region, we can get lots of snow)
- Something with an interior to accommodate a BIG BOI (6'4" 370lbs, NO MOON ROOFS)
- Something 'sport adjacent' (Altima has 170hp and feels quite zippy, I don't wanna dip too far below that if possible)
- If used, closer to 100k than 200k miles
Looking at around $5-6k down, around 15K for used, or low 20Ks new perhaps. Any recommendations you can provide would be appreciated!
Did you find a good replacement? I had a 2017 Nissan Altima not a great car. Have you looked at the Honda CRV, Lexus RX, or Mercedes ML series? My friend raves about the room in her Acura MDX SUV.
@@evaallen9728 yes, actually picked up a 17 charger in that price range, so I'm good now!
what do you think the Yaris cross, cheaper than RAV 4 and small SUV
Where does the encode Buick stand ?
I'm a university student, who also has a part time job. I'm going to be spending so much time on the road. If I'm looking to put 40k on a suv, which one should I go for?
Is 2023 or 2024 Subaru outback worth buying . As first time car buyer
No surprise Toyota/Lexus has the top vehicles. It’s amazing how many older RAV4’s I see still on the road.
EXACTLY! I've seen a TON of them on the road!. Super old, but yet, still rolling! I love Toyotas. 🙂
Do you if the 2009 Nissan murano a reliable SUV?
What about GMC Terrain SUV, we had it for more than ten years and never had a single problem with it.
I have had Subarus for 40 years. Great reliability and the best AWD vehicle in the winter. I have a Subaru Foester Wilderness. Best vehicle ever! Great in snow and off road.
How do you feel about the 2024 Ford Edge St?
Hi Is 2022 or 2023 Nissan Qashqai is good ?
I've just purchased a 2022 Toyota RAV4 XLE Hybrid.
you have no right to spend money on cars with such logo
I own a 2020 forester. My best purchase ever. In my country there is no awd option for the corolla cross and the rav4 is caught by an impossible tax
Mr. Car help corner, what do you have about Mazda Axela? To me its convenient but I don't have a full package concerning it. Tell more about it please.
And we can find the Toyotas in stock where?
where do you think Kia Niro fit into this lineup?
Always straight to the point, recently I have started following your videos, really you give lot of good info about all cars.. thank you.. 👍
Great reviews, maybe a little bias with the Toyotas
I’m not a big fan of Japanese cars. But Mazda is way excellently choice. Reliable. Better fuel efficient. Fun to drive. That blows Toyotas and Hondas out of water period
Fords are rolling piles of junk. GM is partial owned by SAIC China. Stellantis? Need I say more. The Japanese know how to build quality vehicles. Not perfect though.
I have one !
Visibility is bad , also if you are tall the roof is to low . I’m looking for new car now . App doesn’t Alwyas work great .
I have 2022 CX-5 GS and I’m loving it! Reliable. Luxurious Feel. Fun ride!
I love this video! neutral analysis!
I'm a jeep cherokee trailhawk fan. But the Subaru cross track would be my 2nd choice
Is Haval H6 Hybrid ultra good choice?
Mitsubishi XForce the best modern feature and design ultimate driving performance and handling stability, mazda ,honda ,nissan, toyota also very easier to maintain and repair
I noticed Subaru Outback wasn’t mentioned here. I have a 2016 Premium Edition AWD snd I love this car ride quality steering handling is great.
You can get RAV4 with a great vanilla 8 speed auto, not sure of the other brands

I went for the crv 2023 sport but i wanted the rav4 but its taking so long to be delivered unlike the crv i got it within 5 days.
I can't believe that RAV4, HRV and CRV are considered small SUVs
Hi, I am surprised that you have not included Nissan Rogue, want to understand the reasons why it was not included in your list. Can you please explain?
Nissans are trash
Nissan are nonsense trash
Because they suck!
Can you do a video on best pickup trucks?
I can 👍
I love my Mazda CX-5
Please suggest SUV for a family of 4. Preference is mileage, safety and reliability. Budget 40k
Thanks
