Bro, all combat maid like entoma epsilon, naberal gamma and sebas has two form that called true form. Entoma is spider, epsilon is man-eater slime, nabe is doupleganger, and sebas is dragonoid, sebas also is guardian floor so his power is like other floor guardian demiurge/albedo etc. That's why sebas is just 1 shot punch any eight finger that you said they strong just by their looking😂 . Other form is just like humanoid that what you see. It's about title that written "overlord" is overleveled character that trapped/moved in game. If you imagine level gap, evil eye and other powerful human is like around lvl 20-40. Demiurge like 80, and all supreme being is max level 100. So you can imagine what will happen if human that just around level 40 wanna try start fight with high level npc or maxed level ainz
Entoma is not weaker than Evil Eye, but Evil Eye is strong enough with help and the verminbane spell to beat Entoma, one one one though Entoma could beat Evil Eye. It wouldn't be easy as verminbane is dangerous to Entoma but verminbane is all Evileye has to fight Entoma, without that spell it would be more like Entoma hunting Evileye, it would take time but Entoma would eventually win. Entoma is either the weakest or second weakest of the battle maids, she can fight but is not a proper fighter like the other maids, she's more of a support class that distracts foes.
Evil Eye has a good eye (pun not intended) when it comes to power but with foes around her power she can't accurately judge them. To put it in game terms anyone who's within ten levels of her can't be accurately judged. When it comes to foes like Entoma Evil Eye judged her power by watching the fight before intervening and assumed she was stronger.
No, YOU are breathtaking! I do have a soft spot for anyone that appreciates this series and seeing someone go through it for the first time brings me great joy.
Fun detail: in the LN, they had like 4-5 whole pages of backstory on those fellas, only to be destroyed by Sebas in one second

Another fun one, they go more in depth about it in the LN but Sebas is genuinely angry at the undead guy for daring to call himself "The Undead King" when that title clearly belongs to his master Ainz. Its written fairly clear how seriously upset it made Sebas, which is very out of character for him.

Entoma is actually one of my favorite battle maids. She is cute and relatively not evil, if Blue Rose had not forced the fight on her, she would not have attacked herself.
This is Nazarick's problem. Even if the denizens of Nazarick try to be non-aggressive... to ordinary people and adventurers, they are simply monsters.

Don't ever worry about 'not getting enough references'. Part of the reason why many Overlord fans, myself included, really cherish your reactions is that you seem genuinely interested in the series. We've seen enough reactors to at least get a feel if someone is actually enjoying the anime or not, regardless of whether you get every reference. Its the fact that you try, genuinely, to understand that make your reactions so real and enjoyable to watch. Demiurge’s opinion of humans is based on how useful or harmful an individual is to the supreme beings. For most he does not care, or sees them as useful as test subjects for his experiments. Lord help you if he sees you as harmful to the supreme beings (damaging their reputation as an example), because his cruelty is probably the most complete of the guardians.

Can also add that he thinks his views on humans are not worth mentioning. Demi and Albedo are both very intelligent and see humans as factually inferior instead of having opinions about it. For them they see a human like we see an ant.

Spatial Slash was actually one of Touch Me’s skills. Sebas was a bit nervous about it. For exactly one second.
it's was an ability similar to that of touch me, world break, which is said to be superior to the spell reality slash, which cuts space itself, spatial slash is an ability that only make's a cut through space, although sebas was still nervous of that ability because of how similar it seemed to touch me.
another way to see it, is that spatial slash is the regular cut of sukuna, and world break, is the slash that cuts the world itself.

It's just so satisfying to see "the bad guys" support each other like the good guys usually do! It's a welcome change from the usual baddies that kill the weaklings in their own ranks. Demiurge came in like Goku arrived on Namek!
Fun detail: Sebas said that he never hits women, so while punching literally through everyone's faces, he just decapitated the lady. What a gentleman he is !
Fun detail #2: Also, he was worrying a little bit of armored guy (Peshurian of the Spatial Slash), because "Spatial Slash" sounds similar to the skill that Touch Me (his creator) had.

Entoma (bug-girl) is by far my favorite character in overlord. As a heavy rpg and mmorpg fan I am drooling over her concept as a playable class instead of the usual beast tamer / summoners you get in those games.
Entomancer- Sword n Shield sounds so interesting as a design choice... that would be really cool to see in a game
(since Entomancer is from DnD [i believe] it could be that Baldur's Gate has some type of Class relating to this)
Demiurge doesn't hate humans, he thinks of them like we think of ants. They exist, sometimes they can be intriguing, but usually they are nothing and if they are in our way we will just remove them without thinking too much about it
Similar outlook as Father from FMAB. Most Humans are not worthy his notice, a select few are vital resources(sacrifice candidates), or irritants to be eliminated(Scar when he was causing trouble before there first meeting).
While that is Ainz, he's currently acting as Momon the Adamantite Adventurer. Ainz knows who Demi is. Momon does not. Momon (and Ainz) has never met Evil Eye (Red Cloak) and is 'assessing the situation' of two unknown beings that he has not seen before. Whenever you see Ainz in his plate armor, he is acting as Momon the Hero who 'has never met Ainz Oal Gown'. Think of it like Superman and Clark Kent. Even though they know things, they need to act like they don't.

Demiurge has negative 500 karma the lowest possible amount, this alignment is also called extreme evil. The main goal of demiurge is to cause the maximum amount of pain and suffering while obeying the commands of ainz and maintaining the interests of nazarik. The entirety of nazarik is kept in control only by the commands of ainz, in a bonus lightnovel (this is NOT a spoiler) where nazarik was transported without ainz they destroyed 3 countries within a few weeks of arriving. The reason most of the NPCs are evil is because ainz owal gown was a guild that role played as the villans, They were very successful at it too because they were kinda known as the villan guild in yggdrasil

Demiurge's underhanded personality on show at the end there, goading Evileye by "accidentally" killing her friends because he "didn't realise" how weak they were compared to her.
There is a logic to it, though.
Suppose one person in a group is significantly more powerful than everybody else. In that case, it means that if an enemy arrives who only the strongest can compete with, it means that everybody else in the group is just dead weight.
Humans are best source entertainment for Demiurge why would he hate them
So to adress the confusion regarding Ainz's entrance at the end: Whenever he's wearing that black armor he's acting the part of the adventurer Momo and is not Momong/Ainz. This is why he's asking who the foe is because he just jumped into a fight and has to pretend he doesn't recognize Demiurge.
Best part is in the novels, those guys are hyped up quite a lot.
The story always takes painfully much effort in explaining the power hierarchy of the new world, and how Adamantite adventurers are just insanely powerful compared to your normal soldier or citizen.
The Six fingers were said to be on that level of Adamantite, and even people like Brain or Gazef would have a tough time defeating them.
And Sebas just brushed them off with such ease.
A lot was cut from this episode in particular. One of my favorite parts that's actually not spoken much about is when Hilma talks with Mare in her Mansion.
While close to him, she activates her magic snake tattoos to attack Mare.
However, Mare simply grabs both those snakes with his hand and crushes them in the blink of an eye.
The scariest part about all of this is that he keeps doing the doubtful somewhat scared act the entire time.
Showing that his outward emotions are literally just an act, and not how he really feels.
Hilma is of course completely stunned considering this scared stuttering child just crushed her hidden ace with just a quick move like that, let alone that he did not seem shocked or even register it as a attack in the slightest, right before breaking her leg not as a form of retaliation, but simply to speed things up as he felt he was behind on scheduled.
Considering the other NPC's don't seem to fake their emotions and genuinely act that way, it might be that Mare had this whole "act" written in his backstory?

Entomancy is really interesting as a concept. Using Bug Monsters in place of skills and weapons plus you can also summon them regularly to carry out scouting, carry things and even be a mount.
16:45 if you wondering why they have to hurry is cos this was added last minute and they dont have much time before the adventurers get here but someone had to stay longer to snack on an arm ....
You can't really fault Entoma for it since she forgot to eat the arm while doing her job. She even used it to say goodbye to her bugs that sent over the important items and info from the Mansion.

Also I really appreciate that you like this anime so much and absorbed in the happenings that even forget names of characters that you already knew. when the reaction youtubers are genuinely invested in the anime my enjoyments of their videos goes up by the order of magnitudes.
Clarification time:
1) Demiurge and Blue rose. So demiurge was aware of the power difference and he meant to kill them.
He lied to get under Evileye (red cloak) skin. He was rubbing in the fact how easy it was for him to kill them.
Why? Demiurge is a sadist who derives pleasure from enacting as much suffering on humans as possible. Doing so makes him happy.
2) Sense: Some people in overlord seem to have the ability to see power differences, typically due to magic or a skill.
Generally some creatures can hide their power but it typically takes a skill, spell or item. Evileye had the ability to see power difference (likely from a spell).
3) Six arms: so in the Light novel the death of the six arms was funnier because when they introduced them they each got a page dedicated to them.
They each had a full page detailing who they were, what abilities they had and their backstory. Each of them had an entire page detailing their life only for Sebas to one hit them.
Its not really magic or a skill, its just their biological reaction to the difference in level/strength

Evileye is a powerful non-human vampire, formerly a princess of a nation who were all killed by the undead, which is why she wears the mask, and also why she's so much more powerful than the humans. She is however on the side of the humans, and reluctantly leading the adventurer team. An entire light novel volume is dedicated to her, albeit a non-canon story.

This is a common feature of Overlord in that it switches perspectives and you don't always get the whole story up front, just the current perspective of events. You just have to be prepared for them to backfill the missing part, often with just may seem to be a later throw away line. Sometimes the payoff for some events doesn't come until later seasons. This particular payoff comes next episode though lucky for Luke.
I guess the only reason why Evileye said "I am stonger than her" is because he realized that she is a Entomancer and knows that she has Vermin Bane to counter her.
Without Vermine Bane I doubt Evil Eye wouldn't win stand a chance against Entoma

5:16 Glad you are enjoying it. I initially skipped this anime when the first season came out in 2015 and then the sequels in subsequent years. I thought back then that it was weird when I initially saw the dynamic between Momonga and Albedo in the first episode. To top things off, the main character is a weird skeleton. I thought it was BS. Then the pandemic came, so I gave it a try, and it turned out to be much deeper than I thought it would be. Plus, I am into geopolitics, and Overlord does delve into geopolitics. I couldn't ask for more (well, I would have preferred better CGI animation, but OK). I always like to see new people learning to appreciate this series. Again, I am glad you are enjoying it.

Evileye is level 50 but has magical Raid bug spray. Type advantage goes a long way.

Lol, I remember watching the fourth season and having to wait each week for the new episode. Fortunately I got into overlord in the last few weeks so I didn't have to wait much but it was still like "how am I going to wait a whole week?!"
The introducing thing came from the old tradition of samurai (or other warriors of East Asia) having bouts and duels. Basically you announce your name, your enemy announces his, the one who does not die gets to brag and also maybe spells it on other's grave. So basically in anime when you introduce yourself before a fight, you are viewing it as a duel. Sebas obviously did not view it as such so he kept to himself.
The technique with telling us about background characters and killing them is employed by Eminence in the Shadow, somewhat by Attack on Titan.

16:15 this scene is actually like 5-6 pages in the LN if I recall correctly, explaining just how Hilma went from a "High Quality" prostitute to where she is not, it even talks about her Tattoos and how deadly they are (they are actually a special toxin that can insta-kill), also mentioned how she tried to poison Mare with that toxin for him to just stick the snake in the face and out of existence, she also tried to bride him with a sexual offer, not realizing this is a literal child and doesn't understand what shes talking about. The rest is about the same as the Anime tho.
One of the more subtle aspects when mare (the dark elf) meets Hilma (the woman in the mansion) she initially sees mare as a girl due to the outfit. But when hilma gets a better look she realizes mare is actually a boy because she can tell that based on her experience as a prostitute.
Then it gets better because hilma initially starts to say she is not the most important person in the mansion, but then catches herself because she knows she would be killed immediately if she is thought of as not important.
Hilma has real good life preserving instincts, but may have been better for her psyche if she didnt in this case 😅
when einze first appeared in the fight he came as part of the favour that marquis raven said he was calling in from the adventures guild. when he sees demiurge knowing he set this mission for him to command, he asks who is his foe as not to get in the way of demierges plans. he knows demierges plans are quite complicated and not being on the same mental level always tries to see what he is thinking. so he is actually posing the question to demierge, knowing that if he had to help fight evil eye she would die not revealing he and demierge know each other.
I think it’s one of the next seasons that has someone that would definitely say yes to the muscle lady. Not that you’d be surprised at this point lol
demiurges character is complex and nuanced (and smart) enough to be able to give like more subtile expressions, thanks to his neurotic as fuck creator.
all evil charas in nazarick dislike humans, mostly because how the human player base treated non human players in the game, that aspect seems to have seaped through the guildmembers into the npcs. but also evil = hates humans (eventho humans usually the most evil whatever...)
in case of demiurge, i dun think he outright hates them tho. he is like pragmatic evil and tries to find value in everything regardless in which form and or way.
he is cold and cruel to anyone outside of nazarick (unless they could be useful - hinthint); he is endlessly patient and willing to help anyone in nazarick though. as long as the others action dun break any of nazaricks rules or his believes etc.

in the LN the woman with the magic swords is the last one to still be standing cuz he was warry of em, iirc.
14:42 - that was solution. who's job class is "assassin" (it being a follow up to the thief classes is also the reason why she is able to use healing scrolls - thiefs can copy skills, and enable em to use spells from other class, in her case able to use priest related spells, can use em even if in scroll form - was a lv6 healing spell for tuara... one of reasons why was so pissy bout it back then...)

Luke, the very reason Evileye said she had to fight is due not to be able to take the other two with her if she got away. I hope that means she is alive. While it could be Pandora's Actor, my bet is it is actually Ainz and he's using this as an attempt to get in good with the human adventurers like he's tried before (with the Graveyard and his adventuring party).

Depending on your perspective, Mare could be said to be the worst guardian to go up against.
Is incredibly timid, looks harmless, is very soft spoken and polite, will just utterly cruch you instantly without even giving you the chance to realize how outmatched you are, and then do terrible things to you without a care in the world other than making Ains happy :)

A good isekai knows that the side characters are equally if not more important than the main characters. When the lead cast has the ultimate plot armor and overpowered skills, you gotta draw tension from the ones who don't instead.

And on this my like 7th or 8th time watching this episode it finally occurred to me to google what "Gehenna" is. It's a valley outside of Jersusalem and there's a lot of biblical lore around it but the short version is that it was cursed by Jeremiah the prophet for child sacrifice/generally offending God by way of paganism. Per the wiki, "In later rabbinic literature, "Gehinnom" became associated with divine punishment in Jewish Apocalypticism as the destination of the wicked for the atonement of their sins."
So that's really prophetic in more ways than one.

I always likened this show to be kind of "reverse lovecraft" or "reversed cosmic horror"
While in typical cosmic horror, you see the perspective of the hapless mortals encountering the unfathomable and subsequently succumbing to it in one way or another (madness, death, etc)
In overlord, you instead see all of this playing out from the perspective of the unfathomable god instead. Outside of that perspective change, it follows all the same beats. Nazarick's presence at any point in any of the smaller stories acts to undermine and devalue the efforts of the non-nazarick people, whatever those efforts may be.
I think the most prominent example is what Brain went through after he encountered Shalltear. In typical lovecraftian protagonist fashion, he was so shattered by the experience that he didn't even see a way forward anymore.

If I remember well, Evileye is strong enough to face Entoma, I'm not saying she could win alone, but with the element advantage and the help of the blue rose it's completely reasonable that Entoma could not handle them all by herself. The pleiades are the last defense of the Tomb of Nazarick, and they are designed to fight all together.
