Something interesting happened. Today, March 24th, 2016, The Weather Channel actually played a modified version of the 2004 storm alert theme several times in recaps for winter storm Selene! I was very happy to hear it again on TWC. Although this is probably just a one-off occurrence.
+tropicalcyclone100 I hope they resume Storm Alert this year. The 2004 season was memorable for me with evacuations, especially during Frances which brought my mom and siblings all the way to the western panhandle while our dad stayed back home working for fire rescue. I remember hearing that storm alert tone often as our mom had the Weather Channel on TV in the hotel room, an impression no other storm alert left on me in its own time. If they were to reuse one of these storm alert tones for this year's hurricane season, I think 2004 might be good for basic lower level hurricanes and tropical storms. 2005 would fit more severe storms, probably if determined by prior effects when they pass over islands, but considering that was the season of America's most devastating hurricane, it might have a very negative effect on some people... I like the 2006-2007 B version though Sounds like "impending danger, be alert, we know what we're talking about, this is happening, be prepared..."
+DisneyfanBeckers I completely agree.
is there a video of this?
I would like to hear that, it would be interesting to hear.
Also worth noting if you go through coverage of Harvey you will see they had for a time brought back some of the tracks from the NBC-era of The Weather Channel but there is a production track called VooDoo that was even played during Charley coverage in 2004.
1:26 Storm Alert 2006-2007 is my favorite. It's so upbeat.
it sounds like something from mgs2
@@Vishyswaz Low key I was thinking it sort of sounded like a bit like GTA4 lol
It gives me Linkin Park vibes
Storm Alert 2005's music is my favorite. The current one's a catchy.
Hernandez12181 right the best theme.
0:00 2004
0:21 2005
1:26 2006-07 A
1:39 2006-07 B
1:59 2006-07 C
2001 and 2002 had no offical storm alert theme, it was dubbed "Alert Mode". Hurricane Lili was the first storm to go into "Alert Mode", however, I do not have any music from that era. Hurricane isabel was the first storm to send TWC into Storm Alert, while I have clips of it, i do not have music
Oh the good old days, back when the weather channel covered weather and wasn't in a downward death spiral to it's easily forseeable demise...
whoa you called it. I feel like when they stopped making themes that's when they stopped being the TWC.
This comment aged so well. The weather channel has unfortunately become lost to woke propaganda 😭
I think during Storm Alert for Hurricane Dennis, they used the 2004 storm alert opening a few weeks before the 2005 storm alert graphics upgrade
2006-2007 one isn't available comercially. What a pity, I really like the song.
TWC always have great music for weather on the 8s and for tropical update's also for storm alerts. thanks for uploading this *thumbs up*
Here's the names of the storm alert songs
2004: The Perfect Storm by Stephen Arnold and Rouge by Stephen Arnold (fast edition)
2005: UNKNOWN
2006-2007: (possibly) Crisis by Stephen Arnold
Where i can find The Perfect Storm by Stephen Arnold?
2005 is called Lawrence of Astoria. It is available on Videohelper.com. Found it the other day, thanks to UA-cam’s music identification system. Unfortunately, this also means that the 2005 theme is copyrighted.
I was waiting for someone to catch this
While dennis was a 2005 storm, they used the 2004 graphics and music for Storm Alert on it
The Storm Alert opener for Dennis was first used for Isabel, but with different music.
lol I was going to comment that but your comment beat me by 11 years
2007 and 2008 sounds like a Gangsta theme
We all miss Storm Alert....I wish they had not retired it. Sandy would have fit the criteria for Storm Alert perfectly
Irene would have, as well I believe
They brought it back in November 12, 2013
and done away with it again ...I haven't seen red mode/storm alert mode since June 2014 and there have been plenty of cases to warant it so I guess it's retired again
+SuperDuperBuilderman123 thats just the new one
adude6485 They used it for Harvey, Irma, and Maria
Fun fact 2004s was all so in 2005 for a while
This is my childhood right here!
I Like The 2004 and 2005 Storm Alert Theme They Are Interesting
The theme was used with Isabel, however, the music was not. I don't have a copy of the 2003 Music available, but Hurricane Isabel Storm Alert videos are available on UA-cam
i remeber those openings it missed the old music for the weather channel
Something Interesting Hurricane Katrina Since 2005 TWC Played The Storm Alert Since 2004
This was when you knew it was a storm coming for you.

The download links are dead :(
2004 & 05 FTW
2005 FTW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@WeatherNowOnline You'd be correct.
Who composes these awesome storm alert themes?
The 2004 "Storm Alert" theme and The 2005-2008 LOT8s theme ("Eye Of The Storm", not heard here) are made by Stephen Arnold Music.
The 2005 Storm Alert intro theme heard here is "Production Music: Lawrence Of Astoria" by Joseph Saba of Videohelper.
I made the full version of 2006-2007 B theme with the intro. Do you want it? I can post it if you want it.
MegaBrokenstar yes. if you already posted then I’m just lazy to look
I reuploaded it to mp3 format, you'll be able to play it now
Hurricane dennis made landfall in 2005
We all know it did except that they did not use the storm alert graphics that they used in Katrina Rita and Wilma maybe because they had not gotten them ready yet
Where's the one that sounds like a Kingdom Hearts boss theme?
last time i checked dennis was in 2005 not 2004
They used 2004s storm alert before they upgraded it later on in katrina dumb fuck
@cookie1749 last time i checked, this question was already answered
Hurricane Dennis did not hit in 2004 it hit in July 2005 the first intro is from 2003-August 2005 The second song is from September 2005
andrew55656 no it’s not the first intro is 2004-August 2005. The second intro is from August 2005-2006
The package (graphics included) was delivered in the fall of 2003 (September) right before the "Live By It" v.2 launch. There's an old recording of it being used late in the '03 season, but its first full season was 2004.
You missed hurricane ivan
move the download links, they're really bugged
Can You Fix the Links to the Files of the songs?
wait a minute, I thought Dennis was in the 2005 atlantic hurricane season, not 2004!!
it was, but they didn't have the new graphics ready
Do you have Storm Alerts form 2001-2003
There's some AlertMode stuff from 2002 during Hurricane Lili.
Pretty sure Hurricane Dennis is from 2005.
No that was 2004
No Dennis was 2005 they just used 2004s storm alert

I am commenting #BringBackDislikes on every unique UA-cam video that I watch for the rest of 2024, regardless of if I actually dislike the video or not. This is video 5163.
