Love how they think threatening to get a lawyer will have Customs quaking in their boots.
Customs is a farce. Legalized graft, nothing more.
I love the facial expressions of the female officer. She's terrific!
She clearly shows disgust
@dilekavan5796no messing about with that officer
He looks weird and weird. It was so shameful that he claimed he is an Australian .
Agree with your sentiment but did he "claim" to be Australian?
It’s shameful that a Nguyen is making this comment about another Vietnamese 😂
He’s so sketchy 😂
That's the most Vietnamese dude ever.
If you know a lot of them, you'll realise they're all very much the same. They'll try to scam the system as much as they can get.
I think that female Border Security officer is ace. There should be more like her. You go girl!
Even when you are doing the right thing being rude and cocky makes you look bad.
She was the one being rude.
To Say the Least!
Yes my thoughts too
Its not rude...its professional....u cant be kind to a criminal can u? Isnt that common sense. What will happen if u see a police smiling all the time? It doesnt make sense.
My goodness humans getting more and more dumb nowsdays.
@@fin788 Well it is rude. You can be professional without being rude.
The guy traveling from Vietnam should've pulled a Joey Tribbiani and wear all the Rolexes walking through the airport hahaha.
😂😂😂😂
Or he could try being honest with integrity, just for something different. Most Asians don't know what honesty or integrity is sadly.
I hope they have him on a WATCH list so next time he tries that scheme he don't get away with it. GEEEZ!!!
Time will tell
Too many! 😅
I love how the officer kept her cool all the time...
I don’t even know if this guy understands what he is being questioned about
this guy is gonna see this woman in his nightmares until his death
Yap 😂....one of the worst customs officer .....but she got her outcome.........
Hahaha 😂
I have bought close to 100 Pandora Charms over the years for my wife and she still has them all on multiple different bracelets. She loves them and it makes shopping for her easy. They cost from 25 dollars to a couple hundred dollars depending on the charm so they definitely can get expensive.
if i had that tacky hair dye job i'd be nervous in public too ..
🤣
Pandora isn't even that good 🤣
Huge scam considering Pandora is made in Thailand
And nothing seems to be done to stop this scam. Hope they have their passports "marked"
If he's Australian, how come he can use the TOURIST refund scheme - he's no tourist in his own country.
This man had smugger he need get arrested by police
Just as FYI. working in theatres, people have catteract surgery usually do it eye by eye meaning they do one eye then a few weeks later do the other eye.
That’s crazy when people lie on their card that they sign telling the truth would be so much better
this is about 4 years ago
@@christinehore4624 the video says 8 hrs ago
no this is from a old episode
They lie while looking the customs officers straight in the face. No shame whatsoever.
@@annegreenwood3624 ok I see 🤗
at 2:52 perp tries to pull the UNO card on customs, and she pulls another back on him, lol.
When most people are given the choice they will lie. I have been in law enforcement for over 30 years and a Drug Court Investigator and I have learned people will lie even when they don't have a reason to. I still don't understand why ?
So if I believe what you're saying is true (that people lie for no reason).... I'm obliged to believe that statement to be a lie as well...
XD
that's because they've something they know they should hide, got nothing to hide, no reason to lie
According to evolutionary psychologists we have developed an ability to delude even ourselves. So we even lie to ourselves.... this helps us to deceive others because we are less likely to exhibit physicial clues when we lie since we partly believe our own BS. So even self-deception is an Darwinian acquired trait.
It is not self-evident since one would believe that lying to oneself can only be detrimental. But apparently not...
That might explain partly what you observed. (I am a physicist, so you know more about liars than I do....)
Because LE always ding them regardless if they are being honest or not. They have more chances by lying.
I know right, people who do lie are not even good at it.
Omg, it's so annoying. He does NOT understand the officers 's questions 😢😢😢
Karen "Do not carry fake rolex ok ok"
i bought a rolex on ebay = fake and no refund no return !
What a fine 'citizen'
He was caught and couldn’t believed it 😝😝😝😝
Officer : customs and quarantine is part of going through an airport …..
Dude: I don’t have money you handcuff me now !!! 😂😂😂😂
"If in doubt , keep them out" 😂 Ian foot british immigration - come fly with me
buy jewellery in oz, went overseas, claim gst, return back to oz, then return the goods. if the jewellery store is his own, it is free gst return.
Meanwhile in all this diversion Scam over a Rolex a few other guys just passed with 500 kilos of coke.
Those look like CVS receipts
😂😂😂😂😂
Yes they do 😂😂
😂 true!
No, CVS receipts are longer. lol.
How can he be an Australian whne he can hardly understand any English..
Look around in your own country and see if everyone speaks your language well
Mate this is the new Austraya.......😂
Australia belongs to the Aboriginals. Not the white populous.
This is wild!
I know a guy who bought a Rolex overseas. He had to pay $14,000 AD duty on the watch comin back to Australia.
coming back....
Huh, what kind of Rolex? Must have been a Platinum daytona or something
Maybe the government shouldn’t call it a “scheme” if they don’t want criminals to use it.
What about the refund of other items not discovered? Wasn’t case filed on him for other jewellery items that weren’t found?
I find it quite ridiculous that the Australian traveller to Vietnam is granted citizenship despite his average standard of English. When the Australian customs officer is asking questions, the Australian traveller doesn't quite seem to understand her questions well or perhaps acting blur ??? C'mon, you are Australian citizen and living in Australia, do not tell me that you can't understand simple English. Stop trying to act blur in front of the Australian customs officer. Sometimes, I really feel bad for the customs officers, doing their job requires alot of patience and needs to know how to deal with all sorts of travellers.
the guy just pretend he didn't know much of English obviously . So that he may have good chance to get away from custom. Of course, customs officers are trained to target this people 😂😂😂
Or he could try being honest with integrity, just for something different. Most Asians don't know what honesty or integrity is sadly.
As an Asian, from the way he speaks, I do believe he has very limited English proficiency. Well, sometimes I do feel annoyed that people can get their Australian citizenship based on their wealth, relationship status or even through special arrangements. Their ignorance and bad behaviour has painted Asians in a terrible way. Many of us have to spend years of hard work to prove ourselves and get accepted as an Australian citizen.
I find it ridiculous that Aussies don't know anything about their own country. English is not Australia's official language, it is effectively the de facto national language. All Australian citizens retain the right to request an interpreter when being questioned by any official representing any Ministry of the Australian government. The official languages include any of the Pama-Nyungan dialects.
Its about the accent
When stopped by Customs do not answer questions of a personal matter.. They can only ask about your luggage, They have your Passport and name and address is on it so remain silent.. Tell them to hurry up with the inspection and if they find nothing then they dont have any information to fall back on to detain you. Stay silent if they persist tell them you want a supervisor present to watch over the search.
If they don't want to let you in, they don't let you in. End of. "Tell them to hurry up..." Good luck with that one.
he operated his mom’s eye 😂😆😂
Why not leave, get the taxes back, then get homie to send it back via mail..? 🤔
Australian border patrol acting like FBI
he doesn't understand English, before she asks him to answer her questions she needs to call a Vietnamese translator to help him understand what she said.
But he's an Aussie Citizen he doesn't need a translator 😂😂
She's awesome takes no bs. You go girl. She knows her j.
good stuff
Deportation 😂
You’ve got 15 minute: !!! Hahahaha right
Whole camera crew filming you being accused of committing an offence. They need to sign consent for this. I doubt this is real. Just like all reality shows
He triggered Border Force algorithms due to previous efforts and claims. They were waiting for him.
In public, you have no reasonable expectation of privacy. And he did commit an offence. Failure to declare dutiable goods.
I can't understand why an Australian citizen having a hard time speaking english. Nowadays you have to have a good english score to have a PR. Maybe not so much back in the day
Because..
I can't understand why so many non Asians can't speak Cantonese why living there... or Italians, or French or Nigerians or Eskimos.
How many languages do you speak? Have you ever lived in another non-enlish speaking country?
@@alimfuzzyIf you cannot pass an English test or past the citizenship quiz questions, you are not able to be an Australian citizen. This man doesnt even know the heads of Parliament if he's asked. Many foreigners do speak Putonghua when living in China by the way. Maybe you should learn about ethnicities vs cultural appropriation before blasting off. Eskimo? Really? Where are you from? Mars?
@the.mystictraveller actually I'm from Uranus. It's actually quite clean here because all of the 💩 comes out your mouth.
03:42 I wonder if he was aware that he could say no to being filmed.
The Vietnamese man , would've been very obliging, if question by custom officers in Vietnam.
They get heavy handed, if he try to be arrogant or not complying.
He's good at playing the dumb game to certain questions.
Goes to show how they manipulate the custom officers.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to post the paperwork and simply wear the watch?
Yeah why didn't he do that?
@@ThriftyCHNRbecause hes dumb. Sometimes people are so stingy, in scamming they dont even spend the last few couple hundred of dollars, thinking things through.
That custom Australian woman has an Attitude talking to that vietnamese guy!!
What attitude? She’s doing her job. What about his attitude? If you have nothing to fear, there is no need for an “attitude”!
He traveled too regularly. Plus he's carrying the evidence. Then he wants to be wrong and strong. Duh.
Or he could try being honest with integrity, just for something different. Most Asians don't know what honesty or integrity is sadly.
Guarantee he would know the business owner he would return back to Australia then return the products to the store, the store then looses no product and they have made free money from the government
Can't even speak proper English but can become Australian citizen..
We do let these folk in. Big contributors.
Looks like Australian government robbing an ordinary citizen Is Rolex illegal in Australia?
Can someone please explain the Pandora part ? Did he purchase those charms in Australia for around 53k then claim back around 4K tax. And now where are all these pandora ? He didn’t bring them back with him right ?
En el momento en que vi el bolso kislux , supe que tenía que tenerlo.
Lucky its only 1600
I bought my Rolex I wear it the whole time. Not put in bag when going through TSA unless told to take off. It can be mishandled. It can be missing.
He's an Australian but not speaking good English. I thought the ability to speak English (at least C1 level) was one of the requirements for becoming an Australian.
So too much money is bad and two little is bad?
if he was smart enough and his not why didnt he just wear the watch?? he would of got through with it 100% not smart bubble wrapping anything lol
How can he claim TRS when he is a citizen?
Hooze the manaja here now!., hahahaha
😂😂😂😂COCC 😅😅😅😅🎉🎉🎉
Not sure this is a respectable tone of questioning even if he is a criminal
Don’t bring recipe with you
Mare of Sydney.
Amazing after decades living in Australia he cant understand any English
I have not used cash since 2009 only cards
so he bought items in Australia then went back to Vietnam, received tax return for the items, and then he returns back with the same items to resell. is that right?
Yep, pandora is made in Thailand as well.
Or is he returning them to the original store for a refund, thereby gaining the refunded GST?
@@carolmacey7531he received the refund when he left the country. By brining it back, the item is not intended for export so he needs to pay back the taxes. Like everyone else in Australia where everyone need to pay sale taxes for any purchases
@@brianthered Customs don't do the the tax, you follow the signs at the airport & go to a desk, its designed for Tourists so they can get the GST (VAT) back on items they have purchased whilst here on Holiday.
@@bryant4422 I understand what he Should do, but I wondered if sneaking it back in for a store refund was how he was making money. Get the total back when he already got a refund on the taxes.
She got him good
It wasnt that hard after all $1600 taxes.
Wished the uk had customs and immigration like the aussies, they set the bar and others should follow their example.makes me jealous.
Pandora is fashion jewelry
The moniiii, my saladryyy 😂😂😂
thats GST trick
Not first time
The customs officer's tone towards the passenger seemed harsh and unhelpful. Her focus on sensationalizing the situation, especially considering the passenger's language barrier, was off-putting.
While it's important to declare purchases, the video's portrayal of the passenger as a potential scammer based on a single undeclared watch and travel history was misleading. The officer's comment about a chef's financial means to travel and make expensive purchases felt particularly prejudiced. The passenger's explanation about traveling for his mother's eye surgeries, which often require separate procedures, was completely disregarded.
This raises a concern about Border Security's editing practices and tactics of customs officers. Focusing solely on non-native English speakers and dramatizing situations and intentionally not offering assistance can be unfair to passengers.
Ultimately, this was a case of a forgotten declaration, not a $53,000 fraud as they were not able to prove that. This can happen to anyone. The passengers at airports deserve a more professional interaction rather than customs officers hunting scapegoats for producers of a TV series. The passenger deserved a more professional interaction that considered his explanation and didn't rely on stereotypes.
spolier blocker
He should carry tax forms Australian
this guy is ripping off the Australian Taxation...SUPPER SCAM
Lol
Lying
What’s your salary? Really what’s yours
No offense the airport need better translators...
Jewelry
Lol...fake Rolex..can tell from just watching🤣🤣🤣
That rolex was FAKE 😅
Man😅😅😅u need to dye your hair back to original man…that red colour attract unnecessary attention😂😂😂
do you think this broader guard is racist? so a chef does not have money to buy ticket 3 times for last 3 weeks to back home, especially his mom has eye operation?
So an Australian that looks Vietnamese visiting Viet Nam, tell the truth. An Vietnamese immigrant landed in Australia some years back and went to his home country.
I don't agree with corruption but it is hard to know who is really corrupt the customs' or the traveller .. living in australia it is as if your not allowed to have money or make money ..
sorry no more pho for u
he doesn't understand Enghlish
Is being nervous a crime? Just saying some people have anxiety.
Yeah but it's the border securities job to find people who have broken the law, acting suspicious is one of the main ways to figure that out. Also being too accommodating and giving too much information is another give away. They deal with thousands of people a day, they know what is suspicious.
@@alimfuzzy I understand so how do you investigate if someone has committed a crime or about to commit if they have nothing on them of haven't done anything yet?
@@steelstreet79 you do exactly what they did and what police investigators do. You ask questions and when things don't add up, you take things further.
He knew he was being deceitful
@@alimfuzzy ah that's how they get you huh. Just asking. Is that why police can walk up to people and randomly ask questions til they find something on us? Like where you going..why...who when...where you coming from.. you know anyone in the area? Etc right.
"what did you do there"? the anwere should be "none of your business".
The words and phrase "OK", "O-Kay", "Okay" (and others) should not be used by people in authoritative positions. Better to say, "Your bags are going to be searched, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" "OK" is a colloquialism and is ambiguous, depending on the situation. Formal and clear language is preferred.
