Phew, I've been working on this for 5 days now and I'm having trouble remembering everything (after all, I am 67 - my memory is not so good anymore) This solo is really hard because it has so many different parts :-) Great video lesson!!! Thank you very much for this great work.
A great big thank you from Ireland Kelly. What a fantastic break down and very detailed lesson. Absolutely fantastic. Thank you so very much for doing this. ☘️🌅🌠👌🏻
A true classic Kelly but still cant beat Chinatown there are no tutorials out there will you be the first ? You really take on some true classics your the best 👍
Spot-on as usual! Would love to see a tutorial on 'Sarah version 2', that song is like a dream. Thin Lizzy had a magical formula that just worked. Would love to see a tutorial of yours nailing Pantera's 'Forever Tonight' onto UA-cam.
the reason you play Cmajor (Am as you said) over the Chord progression starting on G chord is because the mode is mixolydian. G mixolydian scale starts on the fifth note of the C major scale, which is G
I've always hated this tune by Metallica. I wish they would have never recorded this one. Phil Lynott had such a soulful voice. they've never been the same without him. He was the star of every song he sang. Nice to hear you say that you liked the Thin Lizzy version the best. But at our age, I wouldn't expect it any other way. great lesson by the way. Peace..
Just want to mention the original guitar player on the original Thin Lizzy recording was Eric Bell( another Belfast Native). A fantastic and natural guitar player and one of the most humble and down to earth humans one could ever meet. 🌠🌌
Brilliant and spooky. Was just about to request this. Keep up the good work. How about a lesson on Steve Hackett’s solo on The Lamia preferably from his Genesis Revisited 2. Can’t manage to work it out.
As per last comment this is quite something to remember. I'm just going to simplify some bits to get it to band rehearsal and add complexity later...still a bugger though..hats off to Eric Bell
Great that you've given us the KDA treatment for this classic, which is a must at any Irish gathering 😂 There are other lessons out there for this, but most are incomplete and have improbable fingerings. 👍👏 I'd be interested in knowing what scales are used? Why does it sound so Celtic? 🙏
ahh.Kelly...maybe not one of my "favorits"...BUT...nonetheless...i'll learn it right now....just in case....cheers...and...after all my fav player Gary Moore was with them for quite a bit....
That is one nice guitar has to be 80s or 90s made wow factor 100% you can tell it is set up nice or your just one heck of a player which you are I can't say enough so I'll just end my comment with cool vedio lesson...RocknRollflat5
Probably just my skill level. But I couldn't do it. Clearly the teacher knows his stuff. I just can't follow along. I wish youtube had a slow down button.
What an amazing song. And one of the best solo’s ever imo. It’s so catchy and melodic. Amazing note choice, so good. Great job 👏🇮🇪
The best lesson of this track on UA-cam. Brilliant lesson. Absolutely everything is there. Much appreciated Kelly. Thanks
My all time favorite band. Shout out to Brian Robertson who’s gritty playing never was appreciated enough in Lizzy! KDA killer Lesson!🤘🏻
Totally agree with you about Robbo, but remember, this track was played by Eric Bell.....The Rocker!
Clearest lesson of this great track I’ve seen. Tried others and have got lost but reckon I’ve got it now! Many thanks Kelly
More Thin Lizzy! I'm loving it.

Most of this is beyond my skill level but it’s an awesome lesson of an absolute classic!
Best Lesson for this song TY
Ha....I am actually listening from Ireland. Brilliant job, you've done Eric proud. Máith an fear.
Thanks
Always loved Thin Lizzy's version of this tune. Thanks for sharing brother!
Wow this is one of the best guitar tutorials on UA-cam! Has absolutely everything! Earned a sub!
It seems simple, but it's not. Excellently explained. Thank you!
Amazing lesson! I watched few videos on this song (all good) but yours is the best!
Great lesson🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Loved this song.since the first time I heard it. Great lesson!
Awesome lesson

Awesome lesson, underrated channel. I absolutely love Metallica, but when it comes to this song Thin Lizzy is the definitive version for me.

Thin Lizzy is awesome. Thunder and Lightning is a killer heavy Lizzy album with Sykes and Gorham.
Thank you KDA for the lesson. \m/

mostly and definately because the guitarist on the record does NOT play any blues or rock licks.....but hey ....VERY irish....
Does anyone have the tab for the melody line for electric guitar during verse?
thanks mate 👏👏🙏🙏👍👍
Perfect!
nailed it!
Thank you for the awesome lesson, still struggling tho as pulloff's are the bane of my existence.
Thumbs up!
Any chance of some tablature 😊
WOW...
Stay dry, Kelly. Storms a comin.
Yeah, I see that. Shitty

nice vid .
you must never have watch him play the rif ! !!! his hand dont move down da finger board . Does it! ?
I always had the idea that Eric Bell played this in open tuning?
Brilliant tutorial 👏🏾 so just to confuse us lakkies even more? It's in A but there's no A chords in it 🤦🏼♂️🤣
