Wow thank you! for not being an "all backpacks above $300000.00 review channel"... this is a great backpack and price is amazing.
Thanks for watching! 😃

@PackHacker2 Hey Eric I noticed something about each pack review. You guys pick people according to how much you guys like or don't like the packs. You are definitely that guy that dgaf about shtting on products. Thats why I like you best. I like Morgan too bc he gets the stuff that nobody is enthusiastic about. I seen him excited like once at it was actually a good product. The original pack hacker guy that's on the main channel is always high as a kite or maybe on life...
Thank you for reviewing budget items as well. I have the Quechua NH Escape 500 rolltop 32L version and it is honestly a great bag. You can see that the materials are not as good as 100 EUR bags but it is a very impressive and functional bag.
Is it any good for everyday use?
You forgot to mention that if you don’t want to use the hip belt, you can tuck them in. There are two dedicated holes beneath the back straps.
I have the 23L roll top version and love it, multiple onebag trips with it and no complaints.
Thanks for sharing your insights! 🤙
-Eric
Thanks for reviewing this. Great to see the pack getting some well deserved love. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a bag with these features for the price. I have the 16L version which I love as it really challenges you to take only what you need on trips. I'd love to see some more decent budget focused gear for those dipping their toes in to one bag travel.
Glad you enjoyed the review 😁
This is a great backpack. I have 23 L version. Durable, looks great, lots of compartments and yet inexpensive.
Thanks for sharing your insights! 🤙
-Eric
Would you say that the 23L version is able to hold a 17inch laptop?
A well-thought backpack. Well done.
the 23l is really really good. best bag i ever had. everyday i get more surprised with the stuff i can carry around with it. nice review!
Thanks for sharing your insights! 🤙
-Eric
I bought this because I can’t afford some of the higher end one bag travel backpacks. It’s been really value for money; I’ve used it twice so far and has been really durable and so much utility.
Thanks for sharing your insights! 🤙
-Eric
I love this backpack, very useful and great price. I have the 32l one for travel and the 16l one that I use on a daily basis. Multiple pockets and great organization.
Thanks for sharing your insights! 🤙

@@PackHacker2
in this vedio this backpack is 23L or 32L
I use the 23L version and I absolutely love it. It cost me $35 CAD, and is infinitely more comfortable than the pack it replaced, and the perfect size for my use.
I find it great as a "personal item" (even if it's technically a bit large, it seems to pass, and fits nicely under the seat of any plane).
I one bag with it and for the price, there's just nothing anywhere close.
Did it fit with Ryanair or Wizz air? I hear they are the most strict.
@@ebermtheburn my situation is somewhat unique. I fly on full service airlines and work issues me a full-size carry-on of company gear that I bring with me. I then have the backpack of personal gear. Full service airlines don't tend to measure as long as things look the part. Technically the carry-on I am carrying is exempt, and therefore my personal gear only really needs to fit carry on size, however it is infinitely easier if I don't have to explain that to each gate agent, so as long as my personal gear looks the part of a personal item I can avoid a lot of questions.
All that to say, if you are flying on a budget airline, especially one of the overzealous ones, the 23 l version may be problematic, however you'll probably get away with it fine on most full service airlines. As I've never been questioned, and never been made to measure it.
Best Budget Backpack, There I said it 💯
edit: Forgot to mention it comes in many sizes too
What's your favorite feature, Jasper? 🧐
@@PackHacker2 Definitely the water bottle pockets, you can fit all sorts of water bottle there
That's a good review 🎉 good job ❤👏👍🏻
Thanks for watching! 😃
-Eric
Definitely considering buying this bag in an attempt to complete a trip with just one bag. Any chance there would be a review of the 32L rolltop version? It's another bag I was considering but there's so few reviews on youtube of it. Love your guys' content!
Thank you for the detailed video. Request you to share a review of the Forclaz Travel Backpack 500 Organiser 40L
I would also be curious about that!
Thanks for the review! Love the channel! Could you please let us know what is the fourth bag from the right in the middle row, below the blue backpack on the top row that's just to the left of the green Able Carry? I've been dying to know... Thanks!
I have this exact model, and also a Aer Day Pack 2, surprisingly enough, Quechua is way more comfortable. Another thing to add, the hip belt can be hidden away into the small holes where the straps are.
Thanks for sharing your insights! 🤙
would love to see you do more video on budget backpack like Decathlon. Lots of feature, durable and even on par with expensive backpack from top notch brands, but with reasonably price.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll pass it along.
-Eric
I've had one of these bags for a few months now and regularly use it for a couple of nights away. It was only £45 and it's been great.
Thanks for sharing your insights! 🤙
-Eric
A couple quick points you brought up:
- The phone pocket is indeed pretty small, I use it for my sunglasses though, and it works great for that.
- chest strap, indeed I find it doesn't quite stay put.
- padding: that missing bit of foam in the middle is intentional to leave room for your spine, and for airflow, I certainly wouldn't want them to put any foam there.
- quick access pocket: I find it the perfect size to fit everything I need access to on the plane, battery pack, charge cord, ear buds, blindfold.
I love this pack, though I use the 23L version so there are some minor differences, I don't have the top front pocket, or the hip strap, but otherwise it's the same thing just smaller.
Thanks for sharing your insights! 🤙
-Eric
Hey, thanks for sharing this as I'm debating between the 23L and the 32L. Honestly the main thing holding me back from the 23L is the size of the water bottle pockets as I have a fairly fat (though not excessively tall) 32oz/1L water bottle. I saw that technically only the 32L is meant to carry that size. Would you happen to have tried a fairly fat bottle in the 23L pockets?
@@amanda-hibiscus if you're thinking something along the size of a 1L nalgene, there's no way to put that in the 23 l side pockets. I find I can put a 17 oz bottle in each side.
@@amanda-hibiscusn’t you have a Decathlon shop near you? You can try that in person so you can be sure.
I’ve seen them on the shop and the 23 l keep shape and look a lot better. IMHO the 32 is only a travel backpack or in case you need a lot of space to go in the gym etc etc
If you go for the roll top 32 l you have the best of both world but less pockets.
I have this backpack and love it! Also regarding fit I'm 5'3" and female and it fits well. No issues about it feeling tight in the shoulders and because the hip belt sits lower on me, no discomfort there either.
Thanks for sharing your insights! 🤙
-Eric
Which capacity you have 23l or 32 l ?
@@benmorax
Only the 32L has a hip belt, so she's referring to the 32L
You guys should add a off one shoulder use for the access usability of pockets.
Hi. Great review! I have had this backpack for half a year but would like to change it for something more refined. I especially don’t like that it folds so easily on itself. Also find the zippers open to easy. Would like some resistance.
Can you recommend me a similar sized backpack with better stability? Thank you!!
Hey! Nice video. I’d like to know if it fits as a personal item in low cost flights, like Ryanair or Easyjet.
You might want to look at the roll top version, too. It's the only roll top I'd actually take on a trip since it has a full side zipper.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll pass it along.
-Eric
Second this! The two side zippers are extremely helpful when moving through security. One zipper for the laptop. One zipper for the main compartment.
Also Thule has side zipper on roll top
Would love to see the same backpack with other materials:( ( would be nice to become options at the end of the video)
Please review Inateck Luggage 40 litre backpack! I think it's similar to this Quechua, would love to hear your thoughts.
I use the 16L version for a daily use pack. I love it so far. Only thing I think it lacks is a separate laptop zipper like the one you have here. Mine has only 1 big compartment, it has the same dividers as shown in the video but not with a separate zipper.
Do you put the 16L inside your main backpack? What do you use for your main backpack?
no, I use it as the daily pack, not inside another one. I have packing cubes inside it though.
@@penguinkribo
Just bought the 32l version. But i don`t have the hole for the cable on the side, or the interior mesh pocket at the bottom.
Is this the 32L version?
Been considering this pack so thank you for the video!! Well done and thorough so it's all the info I need!
One tiny suggestion: maybe a different color hoodie to the backpacks just so we can easily see how the straps sit. Again just a tiny suggestion.
Thanks for the feedback! 😃
Do ryanair and wizz air accept it as under the seat size bag?
There is another one Quechua nh500 rolltop. Please do the review.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll pass it along.
-Eric
Hi, thx for the review. Do you think this bag could be convenient as a school/student bag (carry school books) (in 23l version)?
I've been using it for uni for about 2 weeks and it's perfect! I can easily carry a pc, a tablet (with all the necessary cables), at least a couple of thick manuals and a couple of spiral notebooks (+ all the things that I need on a daily basis). The only limit is how much weight you can carry on you back without pain, tbh.
I couldn't recommend it more
I think for that price if you don’t need that space the Cordura and leather Jansport (sorry I don’t remember the name of the model) is a far better choice for durability and material.
I'm between this one and the forclaz 500 40L, any insights?
There is small slot the the bottom of the backpack where you can stow away the waste strap if you don’t need it.
Thanks for sharing your insights! 🤙
I think the battery cable pass through is supposed to go to the strap where the phone pocket is, not the water bottle pocket
Can it fit a 40oz hydroflask
I feel like Decathlon is not highly known in the US and the have some really interesting gear especially for the price. Of course a 200+ euro bag is gonna have better materials but if you’re not a heavy user this bag for the price is really good
Thanks for sharing your insights! 🤙 We've noticed they are ramping up their presence in the US!
-Eric
I am a heavy user, and this bag has gone through hell like a champ. There's a reason it has a 10-year warranty.
Can you guys please do more Decathlon products. It's more accessible for those than the other brands you guys mention often on your channel and it is always the same brand recommended. Please have more decathlon.
is this the 1st time pack hacker review Quechua bag?
We've tested a few other pieces of gear, too! packhacker.com/travel-gear/quechua/
This or THULE Aion 28L?
Quechua in the UK is available at a place called Decathlon. (Dont know if they have those shops in the US)
Ive a roll top Quechua bag, a 5.11 Rush12 V2, Osprey Europe Talon, Helikon Bergen and a load if smaller Jan Sport type back packs.
The Quechua beats all of them for comfort, price, weight and organisation festures.. it only really loses in durability compared ti the more rugged type from Osprey, Helikon, 5.11.
Decent bags IME.
Wow your comment was what I was looking for. I currently have the Rush 24 and love it. But it’s too huge for everyday use and people kinda look at me with suspicion when I’m carrying it everywhere. I’m looking for a more compact bag. Was planning to get the Rush 12 but then save the Quechua in Decathalon. Now I’m so confused which one to get.
Would you please be so kind enough to spend 2 mins responding to this? Would greatly appreciate it!
@@TheEverydayManChannel sure. My decathlon is Hiking backpack 23L - NH Escape 500 Rolltop in Grey.
I love it and carry it regularly when I need to take more than daily stuff.
On a day to day I carry a folding foam sit pad, that slots in laptop compartment.
A 1x1mtr square of oil cloth to put on the ground to put bags down.
Swiss army tool, battery bank, hiking pole, 10ft of paracord in a Hank, some deodorant roll on, mints, small flashlight, wallet, keys, bottle of water etc.
My current daily bag is an Osprey Daylite. Fits all my daily things.
I switch to the Decathlon if I need to take a jacket, gloves, cook kit, tarp and lines etc.
I haven't touched my 5.11 in months, or the Helikon Bergen tbh. Both excellent bags, but I always go for the Decathlon NH Escape 500 Rolltop.
And I thinks that's 3 minutes and I hope it helped.
@@linedwell that was really helpful, thanks! Will check out the Osprey.
And thank for the extra minute 😄
It's worth to highlight which version if this backpack is that, because they are selling 2 versions of Escape MH500 - 16 liter and 32 liter :)
And one more size in between.
The one here seems to be the 32lt version with regard to how it remains on his back.
This version is the 32l.
On the 23 and 16 liters, the bag doesn’t have the top front pocket.
I own the 23l and i can say that decathlon kill the game in terms of price/quality. I’ve paid mine 37€!! Very practical and a classic look that make the job !
You mentioned water resistant. How does it hold up in heavy rain?
Heavy rain conditions are not great for this bag after a few min. I would recommend a rain cover, and then it holds up great.
Please do the Quechua NH Explorer 900. just looked a little more slick than this.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll pass it along.
-Eric
That’s a camera bag
Is this good for everyday use?
I use the 23L version as a travel backpack and edc bag 🙂👍
Flight carry allow?
It is perfect as a personal item. It fits all the personal size max dimensions for the EU airlines I've flown with.
is it 23L or 32 L
This is the 32L. The 32L has three additional compartments at the front. The 23L only has 2.
32L.
@@steeee212
this bag suitable for traveling or hiking
is it 16L?
There are 16L, 23L, and 32L versions. The 23L one has a roll-top version which allows for an additional 3L.
The only 1 thing i dont seem to like is people say its pretty puffy and makes them look like a ninja turtle 😂
I can confirm that :)
This is 23 or 32 L
Is this the 32L version?
