    People think $39 is expensive? Considering it's a stater kit with everything included, I think it's pretty reasonable. (Minus the seafood of course) It's all in one box and perfect for first timers. I would suggest they add some of the plastic coverings for the bamboo mat, but other than that, I think it's fairly priced. That soy sauce surely has to make it even better. And just think....now it comes with an instructional video from Hiro himself.

      Ali dasoo People spend $20 or so a month on random boxes filled with useless comic book/anime/movie merchandise... all because it's 'rare' and 'limited edition.' Which of course it's not. It's all junk. But if you like it, fine, whatever. But this box could teach you a skill, that you only have to pay for once. Think about it.....people spend more money going to a cinema to see a movie for a few hours. Edit: Or spend more money on a shirt.

    I love the way that fish looks and is presented; sadly, I don't really like the taste of fish, but this channel is one of the main reasons why I still try fish every chance I get, because I hope one day I can truly enjoy the art that these chefs present when I come upon them.
    I hope that I get the chance to visit your restaurant, because Hiro really does show us a beautiful talent in these videos. I can only imagine what his food looks like on a plate in your restaurant.

    • @Ash_Wen-li

    • @BadMelody.

      Ash I'm willing to try whatever seafood is around, it just usually doesn't appeal too much to me yet. pretty much the only types of seafood I've really enjoyed were mild fishes, crab, and shrimp.

    • @Ash_Wen-li
      @Ash_Wen-li 7 років тому

      Max McIntosh You probably just don't enjoy that strong fishy taste. The good thing about sushi is that raw fish actually doesn't taste very "fishy" at all.

    It is a good morning, afternoon, evening or night when I watch your videos. It is a long way away from my part of Canada to Florida, but one day I would like to go to your restaurant and enjoy your great food. It is a dream of mine.

    Shouldn't rice be warm and not hot when rolling a roll or making a sushi?

    Is anyone else sick of hearing about Catalina Offshore Products? They don't ship outside of the US, to my understanding they don't supply NoVe with fish and only give little sample packets to Hiro and the Cameraman so that they can shamelessly be plugged into a video with their gimmicky westernization of Soy Sauce and whatever else they make and are only giving people a 10% discount that purchase from their store? Where I come from that 10% wouldn't even cover the tax, so I'm not quite sure I'm understanding the partnership here between NoVe and Catalina Offshore Products. I just know that I'm sick of hearing about them.

      I think you missed the entire point of my comment. It had nothing to do with this particular video but rather the last several videos involving Catalina Offshore Products and me not understanding the partnership.

      it's not physically cutting like cutting meat. It's a TECHNIQUE called "cutting" to disperse the solution EVENLY and to cool the rice at the proper speed.
      just like "folding egg whites" is not physically "folding" them

    Just wondering, I'm still trying to make the proper movements to leave some air inside the rice while preparing nigiri, if it's correct what I understood...
    Does that tool get the same result?
    Not to mention it's putting aside the pleasure of making handcrafted food😉
