Paraguay was almost wiped from the face of earth in a terrible war against all its neighbours. 90% of paraguayan men were killed in that war. Only the Colombian government gave moral support to the Paraguayan people and issued a decree that if Paraguay ever ceased to exist as a nation all their citizens would instantly become Colombian citizens. That law is still valid to this day.

Paraguay is one of my favourite countries in the world! Cheap, friendly, and Asuncion is extremely safe! There are not many capital cities in the world where you can walk around at 2am without a single fear! La Santísima Trinidad de Paraná near Encarnacion are a must-see and are also one of the least visited UNESCO sites in the world! The Chaco, Caacuape, and Aregua are also must-sees in order to experience Paraguay and its outstanding culture and landscape! And it's VISA free for the UK and EU countries! I planned to stay 2 days in Paraguay and ended up being there for over 6 weeks! An absolute heaven on earth!

I was in Iguazu Falls, Brazil and Paraguay was right across the river. I heard that they had some casinos over there so I asked the hotel desk clerk if it was safe for me to drive over there. He said it was fine as long as I didnt drive. He said that if I left my car for more than 5 minutes, it would get stolen, because they target cars w Brazil license plates over there. So I didnt go. Interesting fact about Paraguay: in the 19th century, they instituted a law making it a requirement of marriage to marry someone of a different race. I've never heard of a law like this anywhere else. And Paraguay actually used to be rather affluent before losing a devastating war w Brazil and Argentina.
The hotel clerk was, off course, brazilian. They had a biased point of view, considering that Brazil is one with the highest rates o criminality in South America. And not few of the criminals in east Paraguay are brazilians, some of them part of larges bands of brazilian narcos. The law you misquoted say that spanish people (peninsulares) are not allowed to marry other spanish. Thats because they not considered themselves paraguayans, just after the indepence, and can be a threat to the new government.
I work at an Ivy League University in the states. This semester I'm blessed to have a student worker from Paraguay who is the most beautiful person I've ever met. I'm making it a point to pray for her when I say my daily prayers. This young lady has light written all over her countenance in a way I have rarely seen in my life, and I'm quite old. We live in a world with so much darkness and terror that to come across someone like this is rare, and becoming rarer with each passing year. I'll continue to keep her and her family in my prayers and to pray that Lord sends us more young people like this. We're in a spiritual war at the moment on this planet, and we need many more such lovely people. I have never met another Paraguayan before, but I'm deeply indebted to this special country for lending America, however temporarily, such a bright light.
My parents are Paraguayan (I was born in Iowa). We go back to visit every other year. I'm so glad to see this video and hopefully in the future , Paraguay can get its own full length video! Like you said, not many people know about it or can even point it out on a map. But it truly is a hidden gem of the world. I refer to it as "my little corner of the world". Life is so tranquil there, in fact "tranquilo" is probably something you heard the locals say a lot. If you ever need a guide to go with you and a place to crash while there, hit me up! Lol :)
You can also find Russian-German colonies in the north of Paraguay. I can especially recommend the cuisine since it is a mix of Paraguayan, German, Russian and Canadian cuisines and there's some quite impressive plates to be had.
Paraguay's UpCountry Rapids Iowa to visit since I was a kid and I saw it in the news I don't understand why I tours don't go there it's a beautiful country for what I researched💞
American here... I went to Paraguay last summer and had a great time! I highly recommend it. The people were super friendly because they don't get a lot of tourists. And my Tinder was blowing up, which doesn't hurt :)
I agree, matter fact brazilians who live near the border go to Paraguay every once in a while to buy some stuff that are cheaper in Paraguay than they are in Brazil.
I'd love to be able to speak Guarani! Maybe one day! Hopefully you will learn Spanish with my course too and maybe one day (within 3 months) you'll be confident enough to travel to a Spanish speaking country!

Actually in many other countries in South America that drink is called Yerba Mate . Just a dumb fact . Also I live in Uraguay . Edit sorry for spelling my own country name wrong thanks for correcting me
@@gustavojeremias6228 If you come to Paraguay, please don't say that (unless you want someone to hit you). The tereré with juice (Russian tereré in some places) is seen as an outrage to this drink. The real tereré is just Cold wather.
I just wanna say that I love your videos. I'm also a Paraguayan-American and............. I dont agree with some of your points 1) Paraguay is not struggling it has one of the fastest growing economies in the region and the world. It is POOR NO DOUBT. However, I wouldn't describe the economy as struggling as were doing better than most in the region. 2) Our currency is not inflated. quite the opposite it is the most stable currency in the region. FACT. Just take a look at the value of say ARS or BRL in the last 20 years in comparison to the PARAGUAYAN GUARANI you will see that the GUARANI has more or less retained its value. 3) Also the visa is a reciprocity fee, the US charges the same about for anyone applying for a visa to the US. Seems like you only saw Asuncion, theres wwaaaaaaaay more to see hope youll make your way back some day.

have a nice day Mohammad
U too bro!
Saludos desde México, un día sería genial viajar por todo sudamérica!
Beautiful country all are very sociable and supportive 👏🏻❤️
I have never met another Paraguayan before, but I'm deeply indebted to this special country for lending America, however temporarily, such a bright light.
hey who ever is reading this! :)

Hey!
Not me :p
*whoever
Heyyyyy
Thank you for visiting our country, I know you will have enjoyed it. I hope you make another video again, we are waiting for you
Actually there's not rainforests all over the country. Paraguay is diveded by the Paraguay river and to the north there is a dry Mediterranean climate
Im glad Drew can continue his videos
Please show us more of Paraguay in detail.
Heading to Paraguay soon . Getting Temporary Visa and spending a year there . Very excited about it !! Good Video .
Paraguay's UpCountry Rapids Iowa to visit since I was a kid and I saw it in the news I don't understand why I tours don't go there it's a beautiful country for what I researched💞
I loved paraguay since 1998 when i heard it for the first time, and saw their national football team in the 1998 world cup. I was 10 years old.
American here... I went to Paraguay last summer and had a great time! I highly recommend it. The people were super friendly because they don't get a lot of tourists. And my Tinder was blowing up, which doesn't hurt :)
Jajajajaj
At 0:11! It's right there in the continent of South America! It's located between Argentina and Brazil!
i'm from brazil and i have just one thing to say about paraguay: AWESOME COUNTRY with a rich culture
I agree, matter fact brazilians who live near the border go to Paraguay every once in a while to buy some stuff that are cheaper in Paraguay than they are in Brazil.
e btw foto da immortals foda
@@malfunction1185So true bro

I'd love to be able to speak Guarani! Maybe one day! Hopefully you will learn Spanish with my course too and maybe one day (within 3 months) you'll be confident enough to travel to a Spanish speaking country!
Thank you for the once again, awesome content! 😍👍😁 I love all your videos and have been a fan for a while now :) keep up the good work! 💖💞🔥✨
Can't wait for the cruise to Antarctica 😯🤩 it's one of my dreams to visit Antarctica!
Strawberry juice looks just like a daiquiri 😍
A very popular folk group Los Paraguayos came from here: it inspired me to learn Spanish and glad I did.
Actually in many other countries in South America that drink is called Yerba Mate . Just a dumb fact . Also I live in Uraguay . Edit sorry for spelling my own country name wrong thanks for correcting me
its spelled Uruguay
Actually what they are drinking is called Terere and it's Paraguayan. Other countries adopted it
The difference between mate and tereré is that in mate the water is hot, in tereré is cold
I love your country because i love weed 😌
@@gustavojeremias6228 If you come to Paraguay, please don't say that (unless you want someone to hit you). The tereré with juice (Russian tereré in some places) is seen as an outrage to this drink.
The real tereré is just Cold wather.
Paraguay! What a lovely country to visit! Glad you had a nice time there!
I just wanna say that I love your videos. I'm also a Paraguayan-American and............. I dont agree with some of your points
1) Paraguay is not struggling it has one of the fastest growing economies in the region and the world.
Im headed to Paraguay on Monday! Cannot wait to go
Did you have a nice time?
Dear strangers who ever is reading this may your parents live more than 100 years and any one who lost their parents may their soul rest in peace
