There’s no official “Apple store” in Paraguay so this retail store sell the products in whatever price they find convenient. Also, the taxes for electronic in Paraguay are crazy because of the location that is land locked. To be honest the prices are not bad at all compared to Asuncion!
There are no taxes for electronics in Ciudad del Este is you are a foreigner. And yes, prices can vary wildly depending on the store and season and when the cargo ships arrive. Now due to the supply chain worldwide crisis the price of iPhones in ciudad del este is quite high but during “normal” times, they were equiparable to the prices in US Apple stores. I bought my iPhone XS there for the same price I would have paid in the USA
Hey guys! I’m from Brazil, I live in the same state as Foz do Iguaçú, and yes, electronics are super overpriced here! The US$ 799 iPhone 13 is sold here in Brazil for 7599 Brazilian Reais, which is about 1300 dollars with the current exchange rates. It’s kind of insane. Paraguay used to be a no-brainer for me and my family when purchasing expensive items. Today since the Real has suffered big devaluation against the dollar, the advantages are not as big as before (when we could basically pay for a weekend trip to Foz do Iguaçu in a nice hotel just with the savings from choosing to buy things in Paraguay instead of Brazil), but they still exist.
Another issue is that bargaining is common in small shops so you end up paying lees than the price you are given first. However in larger stores like cellshop, mega electronicos or nissei prices are significantly lower than argentina and Brasil.
Ok so I live in Paraguay and have lived here for 10 years now. Did y'all know that in the Chaco (with is the Northern/Western half of Paraguay) there are mennonite (explaining what mennonites is waaaay to long ahaha) colonies, also known as the German speaking colonies? Paraguay was the only country to grant the Mennonites refugee status when the Soviet were trying to hunt them down after WW2. We Mennonites owe Paraguay a huge debt of gratitude. May God bless this beautiful nation.
Paraguay has plenty of historic sites to visit from colonial times. There are multiple ruins that were once Jesuit settlements and were later abandoned and took over by the jungle. Also its capital city is at the shore of Paraguay River and tributary of Parana River, one of the biggest rivers in the World.

Hi guys! For your question at 8:16 about pricing and savings... Well, you can sum up that by understanding that here in Paraguay there are not OFFICIAL stores from many international brands e.g. Apple. For instance, most of the prices youll see, are just arbitrary prices set by the very own sellers. And yes, prices of the very same items from Brazil are even higher, for that reason, is a great deal for many brazilians to come by and buy staff not only in C.D.E, but from all over Paraguay like P.J.C, Asuncion, Encarnacion, etc. Nice video and thnx to come by!
I lived in Paraguay for almost three years when I was a Peace Corps volunteer there. I loved the episode but you guys really need to visit more of the country. Heyy Guys! I’m from brazil and literally live near Iguassú Falls so i can explain some of your questions. First o all, most of the malls you saw didn't close because of Covid, some have been closed for years because of the unstable structure of the building. second, being Brazilian I can say that it is very worthwhile to cross the border and buy in Paraguay. in comparison, an iPhone 13 pro max 128gb costs US$1630 in Brazil, in Paraguay it costs US$1500. it may not seem like much, but it's like R$1000 reais of difference. My favourite mall in PY is Nissei Mall and Cell Shop Mall, they are the biggest and the best, you should have visited :( ! Hope your trip through Brasil was great! xoxo

Hey guys! Just to let you know, most of the malls you showed saying "it was devasted by covid" well, it was difficult but actually, these stores open very early in the morning, normally 7am some of them at 5am. So as the shift is 8 hours per day in Paraguay they close around 3pm, a few of them at 4pm. I wish we could have met and guide you around.
Hi. I'm from Asunción, and in Ciudad del Este businesses usually open really early in the morning and they close at around 2 pm, because of the one hour time-zone difference with Brazil.
I live in Brasília and the culture of buying in Paraguai is so strong that we have a market big enough to be called a shopping mall called ''Feira do Paraguai'' ''Market from Paraguai'' Edit: Yes here in Brasil due to taxes some people go to Paraguai or even to the US buy phones, for example the New iPhone 13 Pro Max in Brasil costs R$15.500 (for an idea i paid R$16.000 for my CAR) about $2.800 dollars, in the US the phone costs like $1.100 $1.600 the highest
Algumas pessoas aqui no Paraná quase todas as cidades tem excursão de ônibus para o Paraguai e São Paulo são viagem de bati e volta só pra fazer compra ja em São Paulo e mais para roupas
I sure did not expect to see a huge shopping mall in the middle of Paraguay. Give me shopping and I’m happy. I can’t wait to see the next video, looks like fun!❤️👍✈️
You're lucky you went to Ciudad del Este instead of Asunción. But anyways, Ciudad del Este is like the shopping for Paraguay and Asunción is just the place we must go for paperwork. The actual cultural stuff is found in the rural areas of Paraguay. Probably you won't come back but for anyone planning to visit Paraguay for the first time, please don't stay on Asunción that place sucks. You can come to Encarnación instead, or you can go to a trip to Paso Patria which is an awesome place too.
I loved seeing how they visited my country I am from Asunción and I loved seeing how they showed things in my country and told everything with the truth I love you guys, sorry for my English

As a Paraguayan I am happy Paraguay is getting more notice and instead people questioning “what is that country or where is that again??” People will finally know and and know their beautiful culture and don’t get me wrong everyones culture’s are beautiful. Also a fun fact about Paraguay and that they do not just speak Spanish but they also speak Guaraní and trust me is it hard to speak it and remember all the words but it’s nice and good for you know new words especially when you are Paraguayans and your friends/friend are Paraguayan you can always speak Guaraní without nobody knowing. 😝😛
The reason prices are so high in Brazil are the (mainly import) taxes. Around half of the price you pay for imported goods (like an Apple Watch for example) is just taxes... Also, thanks for the perfect timing of this video. I'm actually going to Foz do Iguaçu and Paraguay in the beginning of January (country #38 for me) and I'm super hyped about it :)

I loved the face of enjoyment when you tasted the tereré. Believe me guys, the weather in Paraguay is terribly hot! That's why we go with our guampa and termo with tereré everywhere. I hope you guys enjoyed that little trip around Ciudad del Este. Greetings from Asunción.
We believe you😂
Devastated by lockdowns. Sweden had no lockdowns...they were smart enough not to fall for the hoax.
You guys are so fun! Hope you can visit Paraguay again in a future!! Happy Holidays🎉
I'm happy you've liked my country.. you don't imagine how many great places you could still know here and not only places but people, too
hasta que vean que son pareja y el paraguayito saque a relucir su intolerancia
Excelente vídeo!!!. Bienvenidos a Paraguay siempre. Abrazos
Thank you for this video... One of the best I've seen about Paraguay!
Gracias por visitar mi país y documentarlo 🇵🇾

Thanks a lot for shedding good light on Paraguay I'm getting my residence the in the near future but I'll be spending most of my time in Buenos Aires.
Amazing video as always ☺️!!
Question, have you visited Singapore??
Thank you❤️
Thank you Presidente STROESSNER FOR THE BIGGEST DAM in South America! Greatest President in the history of Paraguay!
Hi. I'm from Asunción, and in Ciudad del Este businesses usually open really early in the morning and they close at around 2 pm, because of the one hour time-zone difference with Brazil.
I live in Brasília and the culture of buying in Paraguai is so strong that we have a market big enough to be called a shopping mall called ''Feira do Paraguai'' ''Market from Paraguai''
Edit: Yes here in Brasil due to taxes some people go to Paraguai or even to the US buy phones, for example the New iPhone 13 Pro Max in Brasil costs R$15.500 (for an idea i paid R$16.000 for my CAR) about $2.800 dollars, in the US the phone costs like $1.100 $1.600 the highest
Wow, so fascinating, but so sad to hear it's overpriced in Brazil :(
Algumas pessoas aqui no Paraná quase todas as cidades tem excursão de ônibus para o Paraguai e São Paulo são viagem de bati e volta só pra fazer compra ja em São Paulo e mais para roupas
Thank you for visiting my country. Greetings 😊🇬🇧
Thank's for visiting Paraguay
Thanks for having us!
I sure did not expect to see a huge shopping mall in the middle of Paraguay. Give me shopping and I’m happy. I can’t wait to see the next video, looks like fun!❤️👍✈️
You should make this your next shopping trip!😉🙌 Thank you as always Diane!
Koa la enseko, nah lgm thank u for coming ♥️
You're lucky you went to Ciudad del Este instead of Asunción. But anyways, Ciudad del Este is like the shopping for Paraguay and Asunción is just the place we must go for paperwork.
The actual cultural stuff is found in the rural areas of Paraguay. Probably you won't come back but for anyone planning to visit Paraguay for the first time, please don't stay on Asunción that place sucks. You can come to Encarnación instead, or you can go to a trip to Paso Patria which is an awesome place too.
Loved the video... didn't understand though why there was a timer for explaining the history...😄❤️
Because some people hate sitting through history talk😉
I loved seeing how they visited my country I am from Asunción and I loved seeing how they showed things in my country and told everything with the truth I love you guys, sorry for my English
Thank you Oskar and Dan for another great video! I'm looking forward to your Iguazu Falls adventure (I visited about 15 years ago) :-)
Thank you for watching Cameron! Looking forward to sharing it😉
Downtown in ciudad del este, as chaotic as it is during daytime, is deas during night. You should spend the afternoon around lago de la República and then head to the bars nearby
Fun video! Paraguay is dope
Awesome job guys
Highly enjoyable episode guys! Your quality and content are proving to be very consistent! I too love Guaraná!
Thanks a lot! Craving Guaraná every day now😂
@@OskarandDan my favourite way of drinking it is with a slice of orange and lots of ice!

Omg. I assure you, by the time you visit the Philippines, you'll be greeted by the most enthusiastic and cheerful people in the world!
The passport bit had me cracking up, same with the Christmas in October! I used to work with a bunch of teachers from the Philippines when I lived in Thailand and they started celebrating Christmas in SEPTEMBER :-o
Still can't believe we got in on each other's passports😂
Im happy to have you here in Paraguay, espero que lo hayan disfrutado...
Sí un montón!🙌
I love Christmas atmosphere in Paraguay, keep a good faith.
Excelente vídeo😁Saludos desde Paraguay!❤️
Oscar... Muy buen español...y eres simpatiquisimo. :)
Nice video guys, im from argentina( 40 milles from iguazu) all dthe shopings are closed because they open at 5 am and close nearly 15 pm!
Hi, im from Paraguay and the malls, for example Monalisa and Sax were closed bc in Ciudad del este the stores close at 14:00
Hola buenísimo vídeo, la yerba del tereré que te hizo probar es muy fuerte, hay de los que son con menta que tienen un sabor más agradable y suave, sobre todo refrescante. 😊
I’m so excited to see u guys back in Brazil. Next time come to visit Maceió which is my hometown or anywhere in the Brazil’s north east
More videos coming!🇧🇷
Cool
Hi guys! Another great video! Oskar, how did you learn to speak and understand spoken Spanish so well? Truly impressed, and envious! As mentioned in a previous message, I have very little knowledge of Spanish yet I would like to return to South America. Having been there before, I learned quickly that knowing some Spanish is a great asset. Thanks guys! Love your videos!
Learned mainly from watching Latin American travel UA-camrs actually haha! Love Planeta Juan and Misias pero Viajeras :)
Good video, greetings from Asuncion!
Thanks a lot!
I love your beautiful videos. Thank you for sharing. I am going to try this trip soon! You guys are great and very inspiring.
Thank you so much!❤️
gracias por visitar mi país tan desconocido
Vengan Go >> cuando trabajaba en el centro, siempre almorzaba allí 🤩😎
From New York...beautiful country
Nice place to visit.
Yay have fun Philipp!🙌😍
@@OskarandDan Thank you!! Would you mind telling me where you found that driver to cross the border into Paraguay) and back into Brazil)? I'm still not sure how I want to cross that bridge :P
gracias por visitarnos hermano!!!!!!
Gracias por recibirnos!
I'm looking forward to the Iguazu falls video!
When we where in 2017 in Argentina we could only visit the Brazilian side because of a big cat type of animal wandering around the National Park. So the park ranger closed the park. The Brazilian side was perhaps even more beautiful :)
I discovered the Guaraná Antarctica drink in Portugal and is indeed delicious :)
Iguazu video is up!😍
Ur gon love the driving skills they got there
Love it ❤
Thanks Ahmad!
Paraguay the best country happy u guys visited my kingdom especially at #81 in respect for the best laker of all time #menofculture 🙌🏽💯
Gracias por visitar paraguay🇵🇾😍 saludos!!
Gracias por recibirnos!
OMG !!! What a wonderful vegan restaurant there !! In Paraguay 🇵🇾 !! 😍👍👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️🇵🇾💞
Everything is overpriced in Brazil, so there's your response HAHAHAHA
My mom went there last year and the flights + everything she got + the airbnb + food + tourism in Foz do igraçu still were cheaper than just buying all the stuff in Belo Horizonte (where we live)
Sad to hear it's overpriced but glad to hear the trip was worth it for your mom😉🙌
@@OskarandDan There is Outlet in São Paulo and near São Paulo with stores that sells clorhes on sale. Outlet Premium SP is a mall with good prices.
@@danilotavares6105 então, amigo.Minha mãe não comprou essas coisas. Ela pesquisou tudo antes de ir. Não falei mentira nenhuma. O que ela comprou pagou a viagem
I laughed when the driver broke a block of ice for Dan's Mate, ha,,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha.
Such a meme😂
@@OskarandDan exactly! Lol!
Nice video guys!
amazing! welcome to paraguay
