Budget sent me a claim letter saying there was damage "under the vehicle." I wrote back, asking for documenation and photos of the damage, they dropped the claim. Budget probably sent out hundreds for those claim letters, hoping two or three will comply and pay for it.
Total BS. They coulda sent that same letter about the same damage to 20 renters--basically just see how many suckers that rented the car in the last 6mo they can get to simply write them a check. Throwing spaghetti against a wall and seeing what sticks. Sounds illegal to me.

I rent cars almost every week. Avis and Budget have thrown bogus claims at me. Just ask for proof and it seems to go away.
