A wee bit of background information ... Ken Stewart and the amazingly John Scullion first met and played in The Loan & District PB N. Ireland under pipe major Willie Wilkinson ( The Big Man ) who then was a very close friend of the Shotts / McAllister dynasty and the Loan & District also used the Sinclar chanters with McAllister reeds combo ... 🎶🎼🎵
Well done to all involved. Great to hear the Medley from that era. Piped myself 40 years ago. Some of those tunes brought back good memories... good to see the history of the pipe band world acknowledged as its advanced so far in the last 50yrs but those great bands like Shotts , Glasgow Police and Dysart were pioneers and innovators of the great Medley selections..
There's NO comparison between 20th century pipe bands vs 21st century bands=20th century bands were SUPERIOR in every facet. The skills back then were much better than today - Duthart, Connell, Wark, MacClellan, MacLeod, King, on and on. 21st century bands HAVE LOST THEIR STRONG MEN CHARACTER, their representation of the Scottish Brave Heart warriors. Too many women in 21st century bands! It's not "social progress" to destroy ancient Scottish male tradition in bands. Deep down you know it's true.///Let women form their own bands. Bring back the incredible days of Strathclyde Police, Edinburgh Police, Shotts with Duthart and MacAllister, King with Dysart, etc. 21st century pipe bands are a Woke society JOKE. COME ON SCOTLAND, BRING BACK YOUR ALL MALE STRONG MALE PIPE BANDS! Respectfully, A Yank In Virginia
So great to see Harry Stevenson here ... a great piper , pipe major and true gentleman 🎶 🎼 🎵 👍
