Glad to see that Lincoln Hilton is making his mark. He is a great talent. Having competed at this level at an early age, before leaving Scotland, I can tell you the dedication required to do this is almost life consuming. As an old man now, I am a shadow of my former self and in awe of those who are able to maintain this level for a "lifetime". I am Piper4Life and I approve of this performance as a former and most grateful once upon a time - Wee colliery piper playing in a Coal Mine Band in a village that is no longer there - The Little Cascade plays as I write the name of the - Lost Village of Glencraig in the Auld Kingdom of Fife - I am forever grateful to those coal mining men for my lifetime of playing this music 🙏 Thank you one ! Thank you all ! This tradition has been so important to me 🙏 It has guided my existence 🙏
Many thanks for putting the work in to get this recording and post it. It's a much better sound than the bbc version, which sounds like it was done in the channel tunnel. It's great to get all the bands on one recording to make a fair comparison, and you got a magic angle to appreciate the drums. Nice one. Made my Monday night.

If the ASSOCIATION cant catch on the prices for tickets and for this hardly anyone in the stands. . Always trying to screw the public and the other band people who travelled to their respective BAND PRACTICES through the winter paying dues to their RESPECTIVE Bands then even if you play you pay to get in to the big stands. Have it laid out that it's about the bands prices are disgrace and each day.
I think part of the stands being empty-ish is that with the Grade 2 bands playing in the other arena and getting locked down between performances makes sitting less popular. They should lower the seat prices but I wonder if people would buy them.
Too many women in pipe bands. 23 yrs ago pipe bands lost their strong Scotsman Brave Heart character. Woke pipe bands are NOTHING compared to old days Strathclyde Police Six In A Row with MacLellan, Connell, Kirkwood Jr., Wark, Edinburgh Police with Macleod and Montgomery, A Duthart Shotts, King's Dysart. Pipe bands are not worth watching anymore. Too Woke. Deep down u know it's true.

I absolutely love listening to grade 1 competition medley and MSR. Great recording.
Thanks for listening
@@JimRamsayJWR I just love bagpipes.
Thank you for compiling the Medley section into one video - appreciate your efforts 👏
Thanks for thanking me. Took a while!
So glad to hear some Lincoln Hilton tunes in there.
Thanks for putting this together Jim ❤️
You are most welcome Patrick
Thank you for putting this together!!!!
I'm lovin the mid-section #6 City of Dunedin! Not many bands use the mid-section to their fullest. More play less swing.
What is the "mid-section"? I'm new to the pipes and drums but I love it !!!
@@violadamore2-bu2ch the bass drum and tenor drums make up the midsection
@@polandishstud Thanks for the information. In the last few months I've really gotten interested these competitions.
I LOVE IT. EXTREMELY TIGHT!
I can't get enough pipe bands.
Thank you Jim, this is AWESOME!!!
Hearing Police Fife play The Golden Chanter genuinely overjoyed me. Started with 400%, now moving into more of Lincoln Hilton's material :)
Thank you for creating this compilation of grade 1 bands! Much appreciated! Cheers from Virginia!
78ths medley was an absolute master class
I play bagpipes in Canada near the 78ths, they are an amazing band man. (mines better though)
Umm ... was that an early E @ 11:07?
@@bd7913 Yes but the crazy challenging pieces played made up for it in my mind.
I love this jim thank you so much for the enjoyment
2 hours of solid piping joy!

Behind every single one of those performers is a spouse or a parent and a call to the suicide hotline...
