I completely forgot till someone pointed it out in the comments on the full episode, but a depressed person suddenly becoming happy is a warning sign of suicide. Watch it again, Gangle doesn’t trip. She turns and dives backwards into the street. Have a good day, stay safe y’all Edit: Not everyone is convinced. That’s fine, but take into consideration that this scene couldn’t have been Gangle finding happiness or being freed from her problems because when she talks to Caine and Zooble, she still exhibits signs of depression. Isolation, guilt, loss of pleasure in her hobby to name a few. Mood shifts as sudden as what Gangle went through aren’t normal. Healing isn’t some big revelation; it’s gradual. Zooble talking to her is what helped her
It feels like we've been in it before, like we all were once characters trapped in the Digital Circus, but somehow we escaped, but we can't remember it.
i know people are making jokes like “gangle got isekai’d” “gangle got kagerou daze’d” but do they ever think of why it was a truck? isekai is a popular anime trope and considering gangle wanted to be a manga artist… :( she died with her dreams just as things were looking up
It's bizarre to see how realistic this episode is knowing that depressed people like us are trying hiding our true intentions and feelings under a 'mask'(love the the idea and concept of it considered that it's Gangle's gimmick) because of the fact of how much we feel too much pressure in this system and we need ourselves form the outside to break free.
I genuinely felt so heartbroken for gangle and the gang. Like I don’t know why but gangle was so relatable.. pomni.. and everyone. The silence was so great. Everything about it was just wonderful. I got chills.
This theme playing for Gangle at the end of her adventure reminds me of what played at the end of Pomni's and Kinger's, in the Pilot and 3rd episode respectively. It carries the same feel, a glimmer of hope deep within a pit of despair.
My 2 Interpretations: Gangle doesn't need the happy mask to be happy A depressed person suddenly becoming happy is a sign of self-suppuku. This was a manic episode and not something wholesome.
@@Micah-NOT-TOASTyeah pomni has say she put a headset in the pilot so that mean that everybody was alive when they enter in the circus so maybe gangle just has thoughts about suicide or failed at that, i think all the characters ended here because they just wanted escape from their problems and they find this virtual game.
@@frankmendoza364 Yknow what would be an interesting conflict. The goal is to escape the circus, but what if one of the character's real life was so awful that they love the fact that everything is all fun and games and purposeless so they refuse to leave and don't want anybody else to.
I feel so bad for gangle. This scene is in a way doleful but beatiful too. The cricket sound and stars at the beginning fill me with a weird feeling. I love gangle so much❤
I relate so hard to Gangle after this episode, as I'm sure a lot of people do. Having to mask in public to hide the fact you're on the spectrum or mentally ill or you're just to try to fit in. Being so worn out at the end of the day that you have no energy to pursue the things you actually like. Being told you won't be an artist or musician or dancer because it's not realistic. We all need a friend like Zooble, and I hope I can BE that friend to someone too.
Notice how gummigoo's escape theme and gangle's theme is similar, just like how gummigoo felt free after talking to Pomni and realizing his value and gangle felt free after she threw away the mask and embraced her true feelings. could just be a coincidence but I wish gangle and gummigoo got to know each other better.
The name of the theme is called _Somebody Real._ Makes sense that it would play when the characters feel a cathartic sense of freedom and ease with their true selves. In essence, when they feel like *somebody real*
I’m surprised how few people are realising that she’s intentionally offing herself. She takes off the happy mask and feels truly happy for the first time because it’s all about to be over then intentionally dives into traffic but regrets it at the last moment.
You know what they say. Comedy equals Tragedy plus time. And they *have* been stuck here a while. So I guess it’s actually pretty funny when you do the math.
A piano version of it played in episode 3 while Kinger was talking to Pomni. This is a reoccurring theme in the series now, reserved for important character moments. I think we'll get a different version of this song in every episode.
This was such a strong episode and tells such a deep story about how masking your emotions or mental disorders only ends up hurting in the long run. Growing up people learn to mask, especially those with mental disorders, and this is what it can feel like to have to wear that mask 24/7 (which most do bcuz they live with family growing up they don't feel comfortable unmasking around). Pretending to be happy when you aren't, or really anything for that matter, deeply weighs on you
is this ACTUALLY just gangle's theme? cus if it is then its weird how the same melody is also used in episode 2 in the gummigoo escape scene, gangle had nothing to do with that
The leitmotif might just be for any form of major, positive development. For example, Gummigoo getting through his identity crisis, Gangle finally discarding the Manic Mask, etc..
I got a feeling that every episode is released the characters in this show getting more depressed even in murder drones episode the characters getting more serious and good from bad
I think it was supposed to represent an attempt to you know what. The mania shown, it’s common that a lot of people who are about to do so suddenly seem to become happy.
The song is called “somebody real” which is cool bc in episode 2 gummigoo or pomni was somebody real to one another and this music played. and in episode 3 kinger was somebody real to pomni and this same tune In piano played. and in this episode when gangle took of her mask she was being somebody real to herself then the same song played.

Ok
Stop stop stop don't make me think that
I wonder if Gangle knew that she would be trapped when she entered the Digital Circus, but forgot when she actually arrived.
ngl this theme is so nostalgic for no reason, when i first heard it *it hit me like a truck*
Same here guess we're getting isekai'd then :3
kinda feels like some random scene or intro youd see in an anime
It feels like we've been in it before, like we all were once characters trapped in the Digital Circus, but somehow we escaped, but we can't remember it.
IT HAS THE LEITMOTIF OF GUMMIGOO'S ESCAPE THEME

she didnt die the you cant die in the digital circus thats part of the whole point of being trapped.....(besides abstracting)
but it was clear that at the very least, she wanted an escape. which paints things in a worrying picture
Buts he killed herself. That’s why she got happy, because she knew she was gonna kill Herself.
Oh, shit.
This scene perfectly the entirety of the amazing digital circus in a nutshell, majestic visuals and music side by side with really horrific undertones
*proceeds to jump into on coming traffic*
to death to realease back in the curcious
That's the problem with manic episodes, they may give an otherwise depressed enough energy and confidence to do something really unfortunate
Real. I say that because I can relate.

Weird how she looks into the light smiling, light is often used as a symbolism for death.

This is the same one the plays when Pomni and Gummigoo escaped the dev room! Both scenes were about finding freedom
glad im not the only one who notice this (its not the same but do have the same leitmotif)
it's also for the piano that plays when kinger talks about making sure to always hold onto those one holds dear in ep 3
