There should def be some sort of hit/allusion to the Flying Graysons in the 2nd Batman movie - like maybe Wayne enterprise is hosting a circus as part of their philanthropy
I want it to be a weird thing though; Alfred: you want to bring a circus to Gotham? Bruce: sure, circuses make people happy, right? Alfred: … Bruce: … Alfred: fine whatever, I get it set up for once the *insert building* is completed Maybe have the building worked into the background at some point with a sign that says “coming 20xx” This could also add to Bruce feeling somewhat responsible for the death of the graysons
I honestly think that some of the future shows should be around other non-Batman heroes from Gotham like Ragman or The Creeper. It would be a great way to expand Gotham beyond the Batman mythos and also show how much his presence has influenced the rest of the world.
Have Batman face off the Court of Owls in the sequel, the media will say that harvey dent helped to defeat them with harvey dent becoming a popular supporting cast character. Make harvey become two face in the third movie
I really want to see Mad Hatter! He would be so much fun and could totally lean into a darker story or could be lighter depending on how it’s done with him kidnapping Alice and using mind control tech, but Freeze is a natural choice for the sequel. Have Boyle trying to help rebuild the city after the flood and screw over Victor and Nora, if they want to keep the serial killer/Se7en vibe they could incorporate the ice bath/stolen organ urban legend maybe Freeze is working on Nora’s cure but keeps the victims alive by freezing them What I would most love to see would be the films to build up to an adaptation of my favourite BTAS episode, trial! Batman is kidnapped and taken to Arkham where his rogues put him on trial blaming him for their lives, would take a long time to build to it though and a lot of planning but it would be awesome to see that in feature length
I think Firefly as an opener villain for your Part II, instead of Kiteman, would fit better. In tone and setting, possibly even in tech aspects. I always think of screenwriting as recipes. Even the smallest additions should add to the overall flavor. Kiteman brings nothing, to me. But a fire based villain, in a movie most likely based during winter with an ice-based villain, just adds that extra little bit to the mix.
To me, Kite-Man is the guy because he is, or can be, such a silly character, so doing a version of him that fits into the reevesverse would feel like a statement. I like firefly for the contrast, but with freeze, his tech needs to feel like a huge statement in the development of the world, so having a fire guy first diminishes that a little to me. I think kiteman should feel like a small step in the direction of comics, and then freeze a bigger step, if that makes sense.
Huh, I gotta admit I didn't expect the villains in your parts 2 and 3, I figured you'd be leaning more into the grounded stuff, though considering that's what the Dark Knight trilogy did I can understand the desire to take this in a different direction. I honestly would like to see different villains in the sequel(s) regardless just to keep things interesting, though it seems we'll most likely be getting Joker again (which I wouldn't necessarily mind because Barry Keoghan.) But anyway, excellent video as always dude! 👌certainly a unique potential plan for the series, but definitely a cool one!
Thanks man! Yeah, I def wanted to dig into the comic book potential, I think that's something this Batman could do better than the dark knight series did. That said I'm pretty sure Reeves wants to keep it in line with the first
Can you make a vid about how reeves can make a grounded freeze. Dudes my all time favorite villain but just can't wrap my head around him being in this universe
I loved your pitch but I do think it’s almost impossible that this universe will get a not-grounded Batman. Cause of DCU’s Batman coming who will probably be the more comic-like batman
Ok, so here were some of my thoughts: First thing's first, you are far from alone with having Mr. Freeze as the antagonist of the sequel. Normally, I'm not fond of people having the same ideas, but it is 100% warranted here. There is a perfect way you could do that story in movie form, and that is with Arkham Origins: Cold Cold Heart. Simply expand on that story, and you have the definitive live action Freeze story. Man-Bat is a confusing and interesting choice, but I don't see him as main villain material. If you wanted a monster to serve as a main villain, someone like Clayface or Killer Croc would work better. However, the tragic tale of the Creature of the Night could serve as a very haunting and heartbreaking film. The finale being an adaptation of The War of Jokes and Riddles could also be interesting, especially seeing as how these two are both maniacal. If it were me, I would've started implementing the larger world building into The Penguin series. Yes, it has some references and minor villains, but, if I were in charge, I think it would've been interesting to see Oswald build his own criminal empire with well known criminals. Criminals like the Mad Hatter, Deadshot, and Bane. He'd team up with the Maroni family to combat the Falcone family, who would've have forged an alliance with Black Mask, who has his own super criminal henchmen, like Killer Croc and Deathstroke, and even Magpie (who's really minor, but she appears in the actual show). This would also feature Harvey Dent in the background trying to rebuild Gotham, Batman would have a few minor appearances, Robin would be set up, and it would've been truly comic booky in every sense of the word. That said, I still appreciate what we actually have. Thanks for taking the time out of your schedule to make a video like this. It was super cool, and I definitely enjoyed watching it.
Thanks for yoy points! I will say, in the man bat film, a villain was needed that wouldn't take up too much screen time, because there is so much other stuff going on. The Robin story, and the Harvey/Gordon two hander will do a lot of the heavy lifting plot wise. Something like man bat, to me, keeps the bloat down :)
@ I liked seeing Jim and Harvey’s partnership, and it would’ve been great to hear how Harvey’s downfall into Two-Face would’ve played into it as well. It could’ve been another crime movie similar to that of The Dark Knight too.
Shout out for acknowledging the Copaganda problem. Given the explicitly political nature of Reeves' "Liberal Batman", i wonder how he'll deal with that. Nolan's was downright reactionary imo. Yours is better. Re: Catwoman. Have you read "Selina's Big Score"? It's so stripped-down, hardboiled but not in a cringey Frank Miller way.
I haven't read that yet, but it is on my to do list. I'm newer to comics, having been a cartoon and film person for most of my life. If I do a catwoman video I plan on reading it for that
Ivy being introduced in Catwoman series, and being main antagonist to Robin(an impressionable boy at the start) makes a lot of sense imo
That's fun
@ awesome video!!
Thank you
To me, Hugo Strange would be one of the best villains for Reeves' batverse.

I dig this idea lol

I think a good idea for a grounded Mr Freeze is to have him suffering from Anhidrosis. He could ware a self made suit.
Technically, doesn't he always wear a self-made suit? Lmao

The filter on the video is distracting from a phenomenal video.

Oh for sure
But that was the fun of my pitch for me, going against the most likely options Reeves will take :)

Sounds a lil hiitoppy
Thanks?
All of your ideas have already been overplayed...not creative
Tbh its the direction that makes sense though
Awesome! How do we get you on The Batman creative team?
I asked real nice
Do we have to message Gunn or Reeves? @@thegregnorton
Surprisingly enough michael chiklis
I have a better idea, we could make batman 2 a musical.
Brilliant.
