I 100% want Freeze in the sequel, but not as the main antagonist. What I hope to see is Batman empathizing with Victor and offering him money and resources for Nora. As thanks, Freeze aids Batman in the final battle. The other rogues would be Scarecrow (another dark reflection of Batman), and a hidden villain to pull their strings like Hush or Hugo Strange.
This would totally go in line with the ending of the first movie. Going forward Batman needs to help people and be a symbol of hope. Helping freeze fits. Maybe they have an uneasy partner ship. Maybe freeze betrays him out of desperation and Batman has to do the right thing despite that. Helping others even when they hurt you.

I agree Mr Freeze would be PERFECT and I hope they aren't afraid to show the fantastical-ness of a man in a freezer suit and don't submit to taking a more "realistic" portrayal, as while I like The Batman universe being serious and gritty, I don't want it to feel like our world too much. Mr. Freeze also perfectly fits with the social commentary in the Matt Reeves Batman, as his origin story and character motivations serve as a critique of the American healthcare system. It would be great commentary on the exorbitant prices of life saving procedures and the lack of access people have to them.
There is one weakness with the "Heart of Ice" version of Mr Freeze, and that is, he's done too many cruel things for me to buy that he's just broken from grief. I like the "Heart of Ice" version and I want that to be "the" version of him, but he also needs to remain a Mr Freeze who doesn't cause harm out of indifference. Rage and revenge, perhaps. Or maybe he's just so far into grief that he doesn't see the consequences of what he's doing (like that Christmas story when he was trying to freeze Gotham because Nora loved the snow). But a Mr Freeze who shows disregard for killing is one that I can't sympathize with; and unfortunately, that's where subsequent writers took him. I'm with you on the New 52 Mr Freeze, that it's a pretty good take, and I'm forced to admit that it squares better with a Mr Freeze who would kill random people without remorse.
This needs more praise, the analyse and context for this video is amazing and the concept really works. I hope Freeze does make an appearance in the film trilogy

I think that once this trilogy is over, Batman movies need to go in dormant for at least 10 years. In Just 10 years we had three versions of Batman produced by official Hollywood and it's becoming a bit daunting trying to keep up which universe is current anymore.

With it pretty much confirmed Freeze will be the main antagonist, there is ONE scene I want Matt Reeves to put in: An interaction between Bruce and Victor before he becomes Mr Freeze. Similar to Octavius and Peter in Spider-Man 2, I want them both to form a connection before the inevitable accident to make the character even more tragic. Make a scene where Bruce's company is helping fund Gothcorp's research, and Bruce meets Victor and Nora (before she is frozen) to see what its all about. Have Victor notice that Bruce is closed off and neglects his health, and tell him to find a purpose in life and start opening up more. Victor will say he found his purpose with Nora. Bruce will be inspired by the two's kind words and try to change, such as for once going on a date with Selina. This will make Victors transformation absolutely gut wrenching, as Bruce now has to fight a once good man, who is now nothing but full of hate and sorrow, the very thing he told Bruce never to give into
As someone who's favorite superhero is batman and is not sure if they like the Dark Knight or the new The Batman more, I am eagerly accepting a sequel but am cautious. I think that having a villain like Mr. Freeze would be perfect. While having the Joker would be nice I feel that there would be too many comparisons to the Dark Knight and it would be knocked for that, and not sure if he would fit the tone.
