God I miss those days. Phish was so freaking good until about 01. I saw most my shows from 97-99. Phish was just so good almost every single night for the whole 90’s. Obviously by 96 they really got big. Many feel it was due to what happened with Grateful Dead. I think they would of been big either way. I miss those days a lot. Ah to be young again. Getting older sucks. I’m only 43 but still.

I saw all of my Phish shows in the 90’s until last week seeing them at Madison Square Garden on the 30th and New Years Eve. First time seeing them in 24 years and while they are different now, they are still excellent. The New Years Eve show may have been the best Phish show I have ever seen. You should check them out again, they still are at a really high level as a band.

I met Mike Gordon at the 1st Bonnaroo at about 3am. He was wearing a hoody and hat and was with this cute little mama. We could tell they were going “fast” and my boys and I were going “real real slow.” I asked him if he needed a “parachute” or some “landing gear” if you catch my drift. They said yes and I gave them both (2) 10mg Valiums from Roche (the ones with the V punched out) and they ate them. However with the (2) 40mg OxyContin they licked the coating off and then crushed them up between a dollar bill on the hood of my moms Volvo wagon. When I finally sold the Volvo 2 years later in 2004. I put flyers up in all the dorms and buildings at Michigan State University where I attended college at the time, and in description I put an asterisk saying *Mike Gordon from Phish and his Lady friend once sniffed (2) 40mg OxyContin of the hood of this car at the 2nd Bonnaroo in 2003 ! Car sold that night. Lol 😂

I got on the train in 94, was a jr high school kid who caught my first taste in a car full of teen age girls older than me driving around smoking weed for the thris time, went home and later listened to anything i could find by phish. Bmg used to be this cds by mail order and i got six dead cds when i was like 12 with oermission from my parents. My first show was minneapolis, told my mom i was gonna visit my grandparents and drove five hundred miles to see phish. Ended up winning backstage passes and i think i freaked fishman out talking about the daniac shevice, and i asked mike about bass since i was in jr high jazz band...next show wouldnt be till alpine 2000. That show was so much fun, my best friends camping "nugs" i wish i could go back to that moment. Such good friends, now my best buddy is gone and others have moved away and never hear from them. So strange how our youth just disappeared...

Saw a festy wedding at IT we later spent a few days at Acadia National Park all of us tripping face, climbing a literal straight rock face there call precipice trail. Which we didn't know what precipice meant and figured its just a hiking trail. So at the top it was super foggy only 50ft visibility just tripping hard, smoking on top this misty mountain like in our own private world, this couple walks up to us seeing we were smoking, turned out to be the couple that got married at IT like 6 days earlier. Was kinda special since by then all the kids were gone from Maine saw a few first few days after the show. Not to mention on top the mountain with the fog so thick if they were 40 ft further away we never would of seen them

One of the things that burnt me out on Phish was the fans. By the early 2000s I was done with the bull. A lot of grifters to deal with as you hear Bounc'n for the thousandth time. I can remember a lot of beggars. Rude, mean beggars. Got sick of it.
One half would at least try to sell you a grill cheese for $5. The other half would berate you for existing.
And that's why I hate hippies.

Oh, I figured you were joking about how many dudes there are at a Phish show - I was joking about how white the crowd is. Didn't mean anything by it.
