fms is killing it in the scale game. Thanks for the hard work phil👍🏻
Yes, so many quality products!
They ruined this one I think by not making it an actual 1/12 scale, repurposing the Willys MB running gear, axles and wheels/tires and cheaping out on the interior. The 1/12 Willys MB, Kommadeurwagen Beetle, Kubelwagen, Jimny (the Jimny is super scale) are all exquisite with the unique details but this one gets re-used parts.
I simply don't understand why the trolls keep whining about Phil testing "cheap Chinese crap". If I were in the market for a realistic 1:12 scale FJ45, I'd have a choice between the Team Associated CR-12, the WPL C44, the MN Models MN45 and this FMS. Of these, are are Chinese except the Team Associated, which has a lexan shell with distinctly dodgy proportions and is constantly listed as 'unavailable' anyway.
So, dear trolls, the only options are budget offerings from China. Case closed - please stop wasting our time.
Thank you.
Wow it's detail really is amazing and accurate I had one of these a 73model with timber tray you did actually sit on the fuel tank inside the cab it's hard to put into words how tough reliable and capable they are that's where they got the term bullet proof 👊
I’d love a real one 👌
@@TomleyRC Did you have to cut Buzz its legs this time? Looking for someone to fit in my Jimny
Very realistic looking truck. Looks like FMS is going to challenge Tamiya in the scale department. Im loving it already on the looks alone. Thanks for your superb review. Keep them coming.
What a superb looking little rig phil, love the detail on the body definitely a good platform for modifications/scale accessories. As always thanks for another awesome video👍🏻
Thanks for watching Allan
Who cares if it's not the most capable crawler when it looks like that? 😍
Awesome looking model… only thing I don’t like are the wheels and tires which clearly came off the Willy’s Jeep by how they say made in USA 😂
Yes, good spot there! On a Japanese Toyota 😅
It also measures out to 1/14 scale and not 1/12. They can't get anything consistent but they should have designed some scale FJ45 steel rims and new tires
@@Hjerte_Verke it looked a bit small next to the Jimny
Hallo Tomley I always love your videos and the people that complain about you test cheap Chinese cars. Maybe can open their eyes , you test all sorts cars and not everyone can afford 800 for one car . And I love that you test all sort of cars. Keep up your super good work.
Fixed the Turn Signal issue. Take apart the Front / Rear Light Assembly and simply put a small piece of electrical tape over the particular LED that flashes "yellow". Press firmly to set the tape over the LED...also add a small dab of glue to set it all in place. Reassemble and you're set. Any function that flashes "yellow" is now black.
At 6:43 when you roll it, did you put on the Hazzard lights or did they turn on by themselves when it rolls over?
They were on the whole time (I think)
@@TomleyRC darn I just happened to notice after the rollover the lights were on. How cool would that be.
This is another great video and a beautiful scale truck. The detail is amazing. I am part of the Baby Boom generation. I remember receiving toy cars at Christmas with doors , hoods and trunk lids that opened. No one talked about scale back then. As you said, this not cheap stuff from China. It's a quality product. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful little truck, Phil! 😃
The only thing I didn't like was the suspension... Exactly because of the crawling capabilities.
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Yes, such a good looking truck
Wowe Phil! You are so right! This thing is ridiculous with its scale features! That place was brilliant as well. Another impressive rc from FMS!☕️
Ha, the scale details are very good, I owned a real one in NZ, with I still had it but alas... great vid Phil. Catch ya on the next one. John
You say "cheap Chinese junk" is it Chinese, yes, is it junk, I don't know, I don't have one, is it cheap, definitely not, 250$ is not cheap at all
Oh, I'm early?!
That one looks really good! Looks like FMS does basically everything right these days
Such a choice rig. Cant wait to see the aftermarket parts, ive got a 3d model i made of one of these not long ago with a sick bed cage, would love to give it to someone that can convert it to 3d printable bed for people
Why don’t you do it
I've never seen anyone mentioning the battery life on these. The batteries for the 1/18 scales and this 1/12 scale always seem kinda small. How long does a battery last?
They last a good 30mins+ from memory
@@TomleyRC Oh thats actually more than i expected. Thanks for your fast reply!
They last 45+ minutes if your on crawler mode
Wow that is awesome they're really coming out with some really cool rigs !!
Hola Amigo muy buenos dias como estas , este tipo de vehiculo replica son fantasticos , es un clasico de toyota , muchas gracias Mr y feliz dia saludos desde Panama
Today you are "only" number 5 in the subscriptions with the review of this model ;-)
I’d have been nearer number 1 if FMS didn’t insist on silly release times 😅
definitely not for rock crawling, it also struggles on the trail; more of a scale vehicle that serves as an RC.
That is a really nice truck. Very tempting. I don't know why people would be dismissive of these things, and this part of the market in general. There have been some real gems recently.
That's a very detailed rc I wonder how will it look compare to my 1:1 scale toyota ke70 sedan
FMS always quality 👌
Give us clue where in Nottingham the crawler track is please. 👍
If you are on Facebook I’ve left a link in the description. I’m not sure how to get in contact outside of Facebook?
@@TomleyRC not on FB but I appreciate your reply, cheers Phil. 👍
Will you be doing a lift and mounting the leaf springs to the top of the axle? Everyone post videos of these stock but don't ever show upgrade videos for the 1/12 scale. Would love to see some different wheels and tires and a lift on this.
This is great, I have the FMS 1/12 Jimny, FMS make great scale models👌
Very2 nice bro 👍👍👍😍😍😍
I'm waiting for a company to make leaf springs but make a gasser drag cars.. be Kool!!! Gasser dragster!! Make 1/8 & 1/10 scales
Thea would be really cool 👌
I like the Chinese stuff I’d just like em to remember to use normal lock tight not super glue oh and hex hardware
Yes, that can be annoying!
Best visual review of this product.
Might not be the best performer, having a long wheelbase, low ground clearance and leaf springs, but DANG is that thing realistic!
Just bought one of these to along with my Hilux, fantastic models these are, becoming very fond of them!
Great for displaying!
Such a pretty truck, so scale..... I think it would make an awesome recovery truck with a boom winch in the bed...
Metal gear, very solid
Congrats on hitting 100k Subs!!🎉🎉🎉 been here since your on 20-30k love your videos
01013(haha) here in Arkansas USA!!! Thanks for the vid Tomley! I'm catching this one a little late. Whoops. Anyways awesome truck so detailed! I wanna watch you run it so here I am! Thanks have a great day Tomley!!
Can I change from 4WD TO 2Wd mode in this truck ? Well it did not change … or they don’t have it !
Really nice! So many great imported stuff these days. Too bad our Canadian dollar is terrible and we're paying 13% tax on everything imported now. It would be $379 plus shipping costs here. Kinda sucks the fun out of it a bit lol
HI PHIL ALL I CAN SAY IS BRILLIANT JUST BRILLIANT. FMS ARE SMASHING IT. TAKE CARE SIR 🇬🇧✌🏼👍🏼
It's fully licensed but not correct for any one year Toyota FJ45. It's got a mixture of details from different year, different decade trucks. If the headlight surround is squared, then it's like a 1979 and later FJ and it gets larger half clear/half amber turn signals in front, a different font on the grille, recessed door handles and should have the bulge on the windshield frame for the wiper motor. Biggest surprise is it's not 1/12 scale and re-uses the running gear from the Willys MB. Kind of a fail after the high marks of their Beetle, Kubelwagen, Willys MB and Suzuki Jimny models. Those have great details all around and are super scale.
Absolutely awesome rig and awesome video! I recently did an unboxing of my (FMS) RocHobby Fire Horse and a couple run videos on my own UA-cam channel, ClassicSteelRC. I love that rig and I definitely have my eyes on another FMS or RocHobby rig as soon as I can afford another one! That FJ45 is definitely very high up there on my list!
No Chinese junk affordable price yes and updated is all about to make better, not need to spend 100 pounds on another experience model rc to replace parts yes thy cost alot ,love my wlp and my wltoys thy not let me down and I do take for walks in woods and thy keep up with me ,what I can ask more ,if I need go off-road I get my old Hyundai Tucson for that ,but we're do i can and how to afford the diesel is getting experience, better take my RCs to off-road When I em gething fresh air😂😂
I love the jimny. Each month I will get another car. Do you know if the max smasher will be available again. Great review thank you.
See if you take your MN45 body and put it onto a wpl FJ45 chassis itd basically be the same pick up except the FMS version looks a bit more realistic
Hi Tomley, nice review as always!! just wanted to ask if the transmission of your fj45 makes a single "click" noise each time after the wheels move briefly when low gear is engaged? from my observation, it looks like before the "click" the transmission shaft does not go back far enough to the rear of the vehicle, and after the "click", the shaft pushes further towards the rear of the rear vehicle, at where it should be at normal operation. Does what I have just describe makes sense? lol!
I'm in no way an expert or even a "noob" when it comes to RC vehicles but these crawlers all seem to suffer from a lack of weight to help achieve proper grip on the wheels. Again I literally know nothing about crawlers but it seems that adding weight to the lowest parts of the frame to maintain stability would provide more grip for the tires in the conditions your driving in. Also, I just had an idea that could possibly help with tire grip BUT it's completely out of the box thinking and may not work at all. But what if you applied shoe goo to the tires and give it a very aggressive texture as it dries? The stuff is very "grippy" so possibly it would give better traction. You could even embed something into the shoe goo to provide even more grip. Just tossing out Ideas, so take it as you will.
The right vehicle at the right time. A must have for my Toyota stable.
Big LIKE!
Well done review video my friend.
Best wishes,
Robert

Awesome rig man great review … side note … my opinion … their website sucks on mobile phone. 😂 FMS fix your site! 🤣
Thats cool, the front spring should be good on ural too, just like this... :( And it can go slow, without stop crawling... Looks like ural is a disappointment :(
Oh and i got no screws for the mid axle and its stucking, maybe i did something wrong without papers..:)
lol I know its not chinese junk, its just slow and scale. If thats something that tickles your fancy then go for it. Just not my fave but I watched it for ya anyway. Homie.
Why didn't they add working door latches like the Beetle and Kubelwagen and continue the same high standards? Oh well.
We used to buy cheap Chinese crap because it was cheap ! Unfortunately it now isn’t cheap any more but it’s still crap. Nice to trundle around your front room on Christmas afternoon but I’d love to see it a few weeks later ?!!probably knackered in a corner somewhere waiting for parts you cannot get and probably propped up with a couple of Tamiya cars with the same problem before anyone says anything. Lol 😂
I bet Buzz never ever thought that he would go to Infinity and Beyond in a Toyota Pickup!!!
Like that!
If the price is affordable, I would love to have one !. Thanks for posting this.👍
I bought Three Bronx from FMSs budget line Eazyrc and it's been pretty good so far
Hiya Tom.
Well done to those who run RC trucks have nothing to mone about
Why don't they make one themselves
Fms has really been pumping them out lately. My max smasher should finally be here tomorrow.
hi tomley .just to ask you something i have an old traxxas grave digger with a 18 t pinon gear ...if i replace it with a 23 t pinon gear ..will it go faster or slower ..thanks
Favorite truck so far. Fms has been good to me but they use a lot of different remotes and their batteries suck. Do you get two views from me if I watch the video on my TV and then comment on my phone??
Love the leaf springs! Wish there were more "scale crawlers" with scale suspension.
It is re-suing the 1/12 Rochobby Willys MB axles, leaf springs, wheels and tires. Once you see it you cannot unsee it. It's not even 1/12 scale, it is 1/14
Eu comprei , e não recebi, eles vendem recebem o dinheiro , e não entregam, a mercadoria eu estou esperando até hj, comprei em novembro, até agora nada..
I just got on on the way!! Great review so glad you’re enjoying Life❤️❤️
One for the collectors In think, I don't need to see the price on this one, if you have to ask you probably can't afford it 😂
Can you please put it side by side with the Chevrolet Apache
Only arrma cars can get grip on wet GRANITE! Dad joke there for ya 🤣
🙄🤣
Oh dear haha 🙃
@@TomleyRC ill see myself out now.... 🤣
Great video and Scale.
But is it possible to transform that into a crawler ?!
Looks really good except for the Landrover wheel stud pattern.
LOL, how is it going to move with the parking brake lever pulled up?
Not my cup of tea but nonetheless a fantastic review.
I would like to turn more only this i don't like, the rest are perfect i think. The model look more than perfect i must say is one of the most detailed micro rc trail trucks i have see.
Amazing scale truck! Loved it!
Glad you didn’t stumble across a 🐶 ing hotspot out there 😄
What a shame to have used the wheels of the 1/6 jeep... It ruins the effort of accuracy of the rest of the model.
Can these be supplied or configured in right hand drive?
Can it be upgraded any how, to make it a good crawler?
First! Phil, you're the best!
😎🙏
I like your reviews on cheap Chinese junk! Lol
why are you reviiewing only chinese junk mate . :D
Fitting some different 1.0 wheels?
8:27 What is the part near the rear wheel that seems to be broken ? I mean I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to fall like that
Tell me what's not made in China anymore.
Pfft. Steering wheel is on the wrong bloody side!
I wish the front axles were a bit stronger!!!
If you like things that do not run right they are just fine. If you like wobbly tires and a truck that scrapes tires around corners . If you like plastic that does not fit or match in critical places. I have bought a few of these FMS deals and they are on the junky side! Tons of things wrong with all of these. I realize that they are scale but that does not mean we skimp on quality!!! They are getting better but still have a way to go to make a easy to use product that performs like the big names. They are very nice looking till you notice some problems. Tail gate on mine does not fit properly and the bed is warped!!! Tires wobble way too much on almost all of these. The wobble is so bad you can see the truck move around as it goes. And it will not back up straight. I am about to give up on these guys!! But, Almost! Keep trying!
Awesome video, just found your channel
You should get yourself 3D printed for driver figures ?
Im seeing that axels going under the leaf springs for extra height 👍✌
Very nice wee model and love the carry box.
Cool scaler, looking goooooood
You need to flip those wipers to match.
As long as Buzz is happy then that's good 👍

Where abouts you live what county
It is Beaugliful . Worthy of a new word .
Is this that truck with leaf springs? 👽
Seems like wpl km54 is still better choice
Brilliant video Phil like it great video once again 👍👏
