I’m a Jericho fan but that was very unnecessary. Just say no comment and move on. I bought it as a kid that she could hang with some of the guys.       thats how good chris was in the ring lol. remember he was the only one in wwe that actually got a good solid match out of scott steiner !? lol even hunter didnt get quite as good out of scott steiner even though it wasmt horrible.       Because the Bossman Vinnie loved his Big Muscle almost 2 meters Wrestlers in the 80s/90s.
      A lot of them couldn't hold a candle to the likes of Bret Hart, Dean Malenko, Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat or other technical Wrestlers.

Even Big Show and Kane were surprised at how much Hate Chyna got from other wrestlers when all she did was do her job. Funny how Chris is speaking now and did not say these things to her when she was alive. HE Even put her over a few times. I think Chyna's relationship with Trips helped her alot in WWF as in her branding. Its a shame she never gets right of reply.

      Y2Jericho was happy to be back in the WWF. He had a good pop with the fans, but still was just one of many.
      _Criticizing Vincent Kennedy McMahon decision was out of the question..._
      Chyna (her look) was extreme and unique, that's what was selling her.
      She had a relatively high paying/low traveling contract iirc.
      Of course the 300+ days a year to house show travellers/old guards were not amused 😤😠
      Hence the animosity.

    I remember when Chyna slammed the cage door on Mick Foley’s head at Summerslam ‘97. And that was the old school blue cage which was solid steel. Mick wrote something in his book saying something like it was the most pain he’s ever been in.

      I have that Summerslam PPV. It one of my favourite PPVs of all time. I cringe at that spot every time. It looked a bit of a botch moment and it makes sense Foley wrote about that one..

Then it's hearsay because he can't prove it, and even if it did happen the reason Vince yelled at him is because it was on purpose, he is a fragile small man inside and he compensates by taking steroids and assaulting women, so let's set aside China for a moment because I can see the argument that it was part of the job, there is a well-known UA-cam video where he attempts to assault a woman in a parking lot, men that assault women are trash, and the only people that idolize Jericho are people that are like him, narcissists oh, look how pathetic his chest looks now that he's getting older, trying to hold on to what little former glory he had, just another overrated POS that got way more than he deserved

    This generation is sooo in their feelings. He's telling us what he experienced with her in the ring. Something that fans, who stood in the audience, can't say otherwise to. There are other wrestlers who will vouch for him about Chyna. You kids have no problem with wrestlers saying Ahmad Johnson, ultimate warrior, Ryback, Nia Jax, etc. were terrible to work with though. You don't become a saint when you die. People still had experiences with you. Some good, some bad. That's life.

    Well wrestling surprisingly is more than just wrestling. Chyna was definitely a bigger draw than Jericho back then. She was doing him a favor.

    Chyna HAD the potential to stay on top. She was tall, strong, had an intimidating look. She needed to learn how to wrestle, if she wrestles stiffly she has to understand other people are going to return that stiffness and either accept it or wrestle safer (I would vouch for wrestling safe, so as to have a long career). She needed to work on promos. It's good that she tried to get a high amount of pay, but upon failing that, she could asked what she can improve on to get to that level.

It seems that whoever wrestles intensely has a short career due to injuries. and those that work slower, but make every move count toward the story of the fight, have more success and a longer career.

      No she was far from a pioneer, she absolutely sucked as a wrestler. She was roided up and banging Hunter so of course Vince thought she was something cause he is obsessed with bodybuilding. She was so lousy as a wrestler she couldn't even take a stone cold stunner properly. So when the WWF finally parted ways with her she had to do porn to pay for her drugs because by that point everyone knew she was garbage in the ring. Eddie Guerrero and Jericho made her look decent and that's the only reason marks thought Chyna was talented.

    Strange. I was at Survivor Series 99 at Joe Louis Arena. That intercontinental championship match was the second strongest match on the show .I was on the main floor at ring side . Great looking match. It's all perception I guess.

    Chyna was an inspiration for me. Re-evaluating everything though, yeah I felt it was more of novelty than actual talent. Jacqueline, Jazz, Mighty Molly, and Lita were the ones who really brought the wrestling to the women for Chyna's generation.

      99-2002 Jericho was genuine electricity.
      Everything since is basically a guy running around screaming that the rock and stone cold put him over on the same night because Kurt Angle said Jericho needed it more than him.

    Chyna died tragically all while being mismanaged her entire career. Really classy of Chris to kick a horse who died, came back, and died again. I really hope this clip is just out of context because this is pretty low.

      I think what Jericho is trying to say is that he respected Chyna as a person but he was just speaking of working with her in the ring.
      A lot of this is the fault of Vince for telling him "treat her like a wrestler".

    So few people speak poorly of her. She herself admitted she wasn’t “the best” and got nervous. But she was also an actual worker who took real bumps. She didn’t pretend that she carried the matches and she was grateful to the men who worked with her - especially early on. The reality is that by the time Chris joined the WWF Chyna was a GIANT star, so yes, it was a good opportunity getting to work an angle with her. She was SO over. He undoubtedly did a lot of the “heavy lifting” in their matches but she held her own, always contributed and was absolutely a big part of the success. It’s a shame that Jericho’s ego won’t let him admit her greatness.

      He’s not speaking ill of her as a person he is saying she was not someone he enjoyed working with. Being over doesn’t make someone a great wrestler. It’s not just about selling the match. It’s about selling the match while keeping your coworker safe. I don’t think he’s having an ego moment personally.

      He is absolutely in a place to criticize. Despite how he is now for decades he was an excellent worker. Chyna on the other hand absolutely sucked her whole career. She didn't even know how to take the stunner right, and all you have to do is drop to your knees and gently bounce your chin off Austin's shoulder. She was such a hack she couldn't even do that.
