You shouldn’t be giving advice on buying bikes or values, you make up any bs to justify prices...you think that Springer would be a buy at even 8k, your $4800 is retail on that bike

A lot of people go to the auction preview, and look at what they are going to bid on. No buying bikes with no motors that way. :)

There's a mega auction only ten miles from my house. I have gone there to watch and look at the cars. I have also seen it a day or two before Tue night. They are using any trick in the book to get those cars and bikes running and quick cleaned. The buyers get a three hour window before hand to look over and start the car, even drive it around the parking lot. The guys are right there to quick charge batteries, spray starting ether and mop up leaks. If the car won't go into reverse, they push it back into a slot that will force the driver to only go forward.
While everyone is in the bidding pit, they are pushing and cajoling the vehicles to start. Jumping and bumping.
Arrive early. Check the bikes. Have a friend stand in the lot while you're bidding. Assume everything you buy has a dead battery and brake or suspension problems.
I know you could probably add a lot to that list, I know I can. :-)
I work at a large motorcycle dealership. We sometimes take bikes in trade, which would cost more to repair than they are worth. Those bikes get sent to auction, that's what you get at auction.
Same with car dealers,it's not a secret.

This is a majority car auction with some bikes. Most of the time the car dealer would take a bike in on trade for a stupid low number and then just send it to auction because they don't care to sell bikes.
Nice score on the Springer. Looking forward to seeing what you all do to clean it up/dial it in and how much she goes for. Out here on the left coast, Springer's are selling for not-cheap....

Sean is very good at this. My buddy makes many purchases at auctions and My buddy tells my Sean’s Dead eye is perfect for auctions and the way he points out bad things on bikes he likes.

That springer for 4k was a steal! Place near me has a 1996 with 5k miles on it that won't budge, they want 17,000$ Beautiful bike. Huffmans auto, where I buy all my wrecked auto from. They really work with you on prices.

cool vid, but your "cycle fact" at 5:43 is "cycle false" off the top of my head you have the Heritage Springer (FLSTS), the Heritage Springer Classic (FLSTSC), the Bad Boy FXSTSB, then you have the CVO springers, and then finally the crossbones FLSTSB.... and that's just modern harleys. I think the 1st year of harley using a springer frontend was 1929 dl. They ran it on the WR and WLA's, knucks, etc.,

In FL, selling cars or motorcycles at auctions implies they have 100% of their parts assembled, maybe not in working order. They can not legally sell just a rolling frame down here. Maybe PA sux?

Auction prices have gone crazy the past 2 years for cars anyways. I sold cheap cars 2-5k cars. Before Covid I could buy a car that needed timing chains for 1500 from a dealer auction shipped to my lot and was worth 5500 fixed after covid same car 3000-3500! Cars that were junk literally need to be sent to junk yard we’re selling for 850 min and pre covid they sold for 250. I use to buy cars that needed major engine or transmission work but it’s too risky because the profit margins are so small and used engines cost as much as new now
Those KFX 50 quads are actually $2000 new. You can easily sell them for $1500.
I didn’t see it in the comments but did you buy a crotch rocket with no engine. I’m curious if you just parted it out or if you did something else with it?
Only ever buy classic/vintage/ veteran motorbikes at auction. Most modern bikes that go to auction are salvage survivors, not worth the hassle.

Could I get any advice from somebody that knows, I'm interested in a bike that just popped up at a local dealer ship it's a 2014 Kawasaki Vulcan nomad 1700 with only 3000 miles on it and the dealership said they just got it in from a auction and I haven't seen it in person yet cause it's 3 hours away and I'm just wondering if this is something I should avoid, because why is a bike with this low mileage at a auction and it's priced a lil low for what KBB says it should be at, about 600 less but the whole bike is priced at $8,200 and I'm just wondering if this is a bad buy, clean title, from a dealership, opinions please

All clean titles. We only get R titles in a rarely but we make it very clear it’s an R title and we sell them very cheap

I'm lookin to get a HD iron 883 late next year but all of the used ones in my area are listing for 5k and above and I think that's a little pricey. Hope to find the best deal when the time comes, would love any tips :)

Nice score on those bikes. I just got an 05 R6 for $1500 but it needs a fuel pump and maybe a cam chain tensioner.....so I'll be about at the same price. Yours looks nicer as well!
