saw these guys live in calgary and they kicked ass!
I'll cheers that. Divinity are a great bunch of guys and they worked their asses off to get to where they are. I have talked to them on several occasions and they always seem to have a smile on and be very respectful. Sasha and James are one of my top 10 guitar teams, Sean has awesome stage presence and really knows how to work a crowd and Brett is a monster on the drums. Nick, well Nick is an awesome bassist and is an awesome guy in general.

Holy shit. When I first clicked on this video I looked away from the screen to do something, and when he started singing my heart jumped because some of his vocals sound so much like Chuck Schuldiner.

This album is so fucking amazing. Divinity is one of those bands that come out of no where and the world is better for it. Fuckin vocalist has such an amazing range. Love this band!!

They do have a sound like alot of other bands. But after reading a hand full of comments. I've learned their just now getting out there. So they will change and grow into something alot more with time. I believe they will do well.

I just noticed I tried favoring this song more than once because it kicks so much ass!!!
One guitarist is using an Ernie Ball John Petrucci 7 string model. The other is using an ESP Eclipse 6 string model.

Actually no, One guitar is the Ernie Ball but the other is a Les Paul (Nick corrected this in a later comment but I wanted to make sure you saw it). Sasha (The lead) is using the Ernie Ball and James is using the Les Paul.
they are not very original but that doesn't mean that they aren't a very talented group of people...not to mention the music they are producing is still fairly epic

This sounds exactly like in Flames about 10 years ago......just without any decent lead riffs or solos....or any well structured chorus patterns....sure the generic screamo crowd will enjoy it thoroughly....

Definately one of the better metal pieces ive heard in a while. These guys have a ton of brain work done in the chord progressions and riffs. The regular metal "listener" probably wouldnt even pick up on the meaning of that. This is artwork. \m/- rock the hell on.
yeah textures are damn good... but that's die hard mathmetal... this is some kind of crossover of math/tech death... pretty impressive

I agree, Shagrath has fucking bad ass vocals, and this guy reminds me of Meshuggah's Vocals almost. Shagrath has the BEST screaming vocals ever, but these guys still kick ass.
It should matter. I never said its all about the lyrics, but the lyrics do play their own role. Don't get me wrong, what the music itself sounds is the majority. But you just can't go solely off of the sound.
If you listened to a song and it sounded cool and you liked it, but then later you looked up the lyrics and found out its talking about chopping up babies limb from limb and throwing them in a meat grinder, it would change your opinion.

When I found out the other year that Divinity, out of every band in Alberta, got signed to Nuclear Blast, I pretty much pissed my pants laughing.
They've been shit back when Brett was dating my friend 3 or so years ago, and they remain shit to this day.
