Toyota and Acura aren't even in the same conversation. Don't get me wrong, Toyota builds nice cars: I just rented a 2024 Highlander last month and it was a comfortable car, but it's no where near as refined, as premium, or as high-quality as an Acura. And yes, I agree, the Turbo 4 Cyl. in the Highlander is not great at all. Toyota's 3.5 L V6 was killer... they subbed that engine out of the Lexus RX too. Bad move! I had this Honda/Acura engine in my 2018 MDX and it was hindered by the 9-speed transmission they were offering at the time. But since this generation MDX came out, the engine feels less inhibited by the new 10-speed and is far more responsive. It's a good choice... make the switch! If you want a more even comparison: the Honda Pilot still has a V6 as well, and would be a closer competitor (especially price-wise) to the Toyotas.
@@executiveauto Definite bummer to hear. Wonder if the additional speakers in the Type S will make it up. I’m certainly no audiophile so I may not notice. Thanks and great job on the review.
I tested the B&O in the new ZDX which is basically the same system. It sounded good, but it would not play discrete 5.1 audio like in the ELS. I'm waiting for someone to do a professional test to verify my findings, but in my mind, the system is a step down. Sadly, 99% of owners won't even notice and wouldn't care anyways.
I’m with you kJbn … but I’m thinking ADVANCE over Type-S due to the tire set up. 21” wheels / no spare not ideal for winter driving in the pothole filled Northeast
yeah third row rider could hold their breath and listen to music since there is no overhead AC vent in third row (Oh year they have vent on the floor ...who had the best in the mind by having ac vent on the floor to blow smell from the shoes out , only Acura Engineer!
I have the redesigned 2022 mdx. One of the very few SUVs that’s still listed on IIHS Top safety pick plus. Be ready to spend on Gas. The mileage is horrible!
One of the reasons I'm not sold on a MDX yet. Was close to buying a 22 as well. I want one but the gas mileage is atrocious. Wish they'd release another hybrid version, but I know the price will be STUPID if they did. Guess I won't be buying anytime soon.
@@Mansa_Musa. It’s a love hate relationship with MDX for me. I got MDX because other vehicles had insane markups. Considering the safety score I am fine to keep it for some time as I don’t see any SUVs getting top safety pick plus rating
@@cachegrk yeah, it's great vehicle but sheesh.. such terrible gas mileage. For the price, Acura is stingy as fk. You have to get an Advance just to get what other OEMs give as standard add-ons like remote start, and a heads up display (that one is a little more premium). Reasons why I won't get the A-spec even though I wanted it, haha. Also, not a fan of the trackpad, it's not horrible but not great either.
@@Mansa_Musa. Hybrid option available 2019, 2020...Honda's slack behind Toyota in hybrid trend! Do not buy Acura MDX, overprice,,,get Honda Pilot 2025 top the line with HUD LoL!!
Dear Honda, please stop raping one bank of VVT to make it VCM. If I want a V6, I want it to run on all 6 cylinders. Cylinder management is stupid. And increase the horsepower for God's sake!
AGAIN, Acura engineers kept having the big ass speaker up there rather than having AC vent up there for third row ......I would rather buy Honda Pilot!
Never thought that I'll be buying an acura over toyota, sad time
Same here no naturally aspirated V6 in the Toyota anymore 😢
Me too! Toyota just doesn't appeal to me any more

This is a really good car! #1 selling in its class
I like your reviews. Got a follow from me. I appreciate you climbing in the back. It’s actually helpful for visualizing tailgating/cargo space for me.
Correction: Same exact rims as on 22-24 Advance, now painted 2 tone instead of bright silver.
Thank you for that correction!
How is the Bang & Olufsen sound system? Specifically compared to the prior ELS system.
I personally couldn't tell the difference. But I took my friend in it who is an audiophile and he said it was worse than the old system

The rims are the same as the 2022-2024 Acura MDX Advance except they're two-tone for 2025 instead of the previous monotone (all silver).
Thank you for clarifying

Why cigarette’s outlet???
Or a 12 volt outlet port to charge device's. Sorry I always grew up calling it a cigarette outlet port
Idk man seems like for 67k they would change a lot more still similar to 24 just with some new design and tough screen
I love Acura my dream Car 🚗 😢😢
Keep working 💪. You got it. You will achieve that dream soon!
Add a hybrid plugin model!!!
I would actually like that. Acura has made some non plug ins in the past but never plug in to my knowledge
21mpg is suprising? its a v6 not v8
No sxm radio? Satellite
It does come with sxm radio. 3 free months when you buy the car new. It's accessible in the radio settings
More garbage…

Ugh...no 110v outlet. Pathetic at this price.
It is not worth it to buy it. I would not spend more than 60 K to pay this car. I hope dealership keeps this car. :)))
Yet they are selling them like hot cakes.
🙋🏻♂️ I like the trackpad

Save your money and buy the Pilot. Problem solved.
