    Great review and film results! One suggestion: it’s better to use an alkaline battery, not the heavy duty battery, as alkaline batteries are less likely to leak after a year. Keep snapping! 👍

    hey love the shots! I would recommend looking into an older point an shoot made in the 80s or 90s. many can be found for under 25 bucks that will out perform that kodak in every way with autofocus and zoom capabilities while still only having one button. The kodak is a good starter but it’s really a rebranded chinese camera that has decades old technology at what is a pretty high price for the features. something like a canon sure shot or olympus afl will last the test of time and has a lens that is close to what a bigger slr can do. hope that helps on ur journey!

      Ya, while I want one, because I'm a film camera junky, I think my XA2 would probably take better pictures. That and I have one already... somewhere.

      As long as you find a good one, you're usually okay. I have a Minolta SLR (Maxxum) and the Canon Autoboy (Japanese SureShot) I trashpicked works but it needs a 2CR5 battery which isn't easy to find; you basically have to buy them online in bulk. 123 (sometimes called DL123A) batteries are also hard to find (or harder), so beware of those cameras unless you live near a Ace Hardware or Batteries Plus or can order the battery online.
      Since I own a SLR which uses them, I don't mind but it's a pretty noticeable shortcoming for first time users, but this can be a issue for someone who doesn't have a camera to stockpile them 10 at a time. Some use CR2 or CR123 which are easier to get but you absolutely need to research the model. I also got a Minolta Freedom II AF in a camera lot which uses normal AA batteries.

    ~~~ FAQ: ~~~
    •How do you get the pictures on your phone?
    - Once the film is developed, it can be scanned into a digital file. This file can be shared between a computer and your phone. (Most places that develop film will also offer scans).
    • Where can I get the film developed?
    - Look around for local shops that develop film
    - Send it out!
    - Buy chemicals to do it yourself at home :)
    •Where can I buy it?
    - Webb Camera: bit.ly/3uk3CRF
    - Unique: bit.ly/3DgDR7r
    - B&H: bhpho.to/3Dbb7wQ
    - Check out your local camera stores!!!
    Thanks for watching! :)
    Wow, thank you so much for this video! I didn't realise the camera is usable, thought it was the other way around and bought a SLR instead :/ The SLR was too complicated for me and I'm actually thinking of buying a point and shoot.     Considering the cheap technology and lens in this camera your photos had less grain than I expected, not to bad! I’m just about to do a test of a 90s auto focus point and shoot v’s a 70s ranger finder, I’ll take some identical shots with each. It will be interesting to see how they perform in comparison.
    Awesome video! Love vibe and samples.
    I just saw this camera on eBay when I was looking to get a vintage 35mm P&S for a friend, I was wondering when a company would come up with a modern version. Sure enough, Kodak did.
    Wish it paired with a better glass with faster aperture like their vintage counterpart, but unlike those, this is new and reliable, and you don't have to worry about iftdying after a short period of use due to age and wear.
    • @tristinrose13
      @tristinrose13  3 роки тому +6
      Hi Danica!
      You should leave the flash off all the time until you need it (as it used up the battery when it is on). I would avoid using flash outside when there is any daylight. Indoors it is more up to you, but just use your best judgement depending on how strong there is other lighting on something. Indoors will probably need the flash more often than anywhere else!
Your video is really informative! 👍🏻May I ask for the film counter, after I advance the film,it does get to the ‘dot’ of the counter, ie: at the middle of two numbers, eg: 4 . 5 ,May I know if we should click the shutter and advance it to 5 or it is considered to be a ‘valid film’ and we can actually take a picture at the dot placing?       so they will react to light differently & require different exposure times. The lower the ISO (number) on the film the more light it requires, where the higher the number the less light it requires.
    • @tristinrose13
      @tristinrose13  3 роки тому +1
      Hi! no need to apologize :)
      When you rewind, you put the film back into the canister. You need to put the film back in the canister to save the images from being exposed to the light and ruined. You then need to get the film developed and scanned if you want to save them or download them. The film can not be used again. When you take a picture it exposes light yo the film and basically burns a permanent image into it.
      But you can keep using this camera again and again as long as you have a new roll of film!
    • @tristinrose13
      The film can't be exposed to any light, so you should never open the back of the camera if there is that isn't rewound.
    Hi i have a question pls help me 🥲
    So, when u turn the advance wheel after taking a picture. Is the roll handle on the top left (next to the shutter button) supposed to turn as well? As in, turn on its own while you turn the advance wheel ?
    Idk but i realised the roll handle started turning when i turn the advance wheel and this started happening on my 30th film shot..im not sure but I don’t think the roll handle turned when im on my 1st-20th shot? Does that mean my film gonna turn out blank 🥲
    • @tristinrose13
      @tristinrose13  3 роки тому
      So the roll handle is hard to notice, I usually don't pay attention to it moving so there's a chance you just didn't notice.
      If it actually wasn't moving, it is possible they might be blank until it was turning.. I'd say still get it developed & cross your fingers.
    • @tristinrose13
      @tristinrose13  3 роки тому
      I'm not sure I understand your issue...
      if the counter kept changing, it might be possible that you accidentally opened the back... or possibly the film wasn't loaded properly, making it not advance (and not taking pictures) :/
      it should start on S (I believe) then advance each number when you take each picture until the roll of film is full.
