    these cameras make everything look like the 1950's I love it!

    The most interesting thing about this video IMO is how the scenes just look like random and rather boring objects on video, with the digital camera. Yet they become nostalgic looking and far more interesting in the film photo, especially at the fair. I figure it's because those of us over 40 connect with images like that since we grew up with them. Great video.

    That looks like a fairly pocketable cam. Also, surprised at how vibrant the shots were for a plastic lens. Im with you and really liked the vinette.

    I was impressed by the vignetting. Life is not perfect. There sunny days, cloudy days, warm days, cold days etc. There are happy days, sad days, lonely days, painful days and so on. Use film to capture those emotions and realities.
    For those pretentious glamour, rainbows, lollipop and bubblegum my life is perfect days, use digital to preserve those commercial moments of your life.

    Your images seemed like a perfect example of a "taken in the past image". Sort of please enjoy this lovely shot of a 2022 Mustang that I clearly took back in 1987. Its hard to find cameras that output that look. Most go right into the grungy, lofi category.

    Got this camera for a friend before she left for a trip. She had fun using it. So I can't wait to see the pictures she took. Really cool review.

    Nice pica, as always. Camera reminds me back when Kodak partnered with Vivitar tp produce KV models. I bought a few of them when they were getting away from film. Came packaged with 2 rolls of film - Walmart sold these for $5 each. KV250, 28mm lens - might even have 2(!) elements.

    Looks a fun little camera - with a plastic lens it was never going to be the sharpest tool in box (camera bag) but it did ok, it suited the fairground subject matter well with a nice retro feel. Being on the other side of the Atlantic, what the hell are Funnel Cakes and Elephant Ears?

    • @theoldcameraguy
      @theoldcameraguy  Рік тому +2

      Haha - Funnel cakes and elephant ears are basically different combinations of sugar and fried dough (AKA ticket to an early grave)…

    There were some very nice shots on that roll.
    If I were to buy a Kodak M35 in Denmark it would cost me $40 at the current exchange rate - still, it's cheaper than the Kodak Ultra F9, that costs about $74 here in Denmark.
    In this economy I think, I'll stick to the cameras I already have for now - maybe combined with some digicam shooting for some low resolution digital photography.

    Stealthy yellow for candid street shots 😊 Where are the fairground’s throngs of people? Vignetting particularly on the left of frames. Every Holga is different, is the same true here? -Andrew

    I've bought one and the button isn't triggering the shutter to open, I haven't loaded film yet, but should the button open the shutter even without film in it? I don't want to waste film if the camera is faulty

    • @theoldcameraguy
      @theoldcameraguy  Рік тому +2

      Open up the back - underneath the viewfinder is a little gear wheel. Rotate that to the right until it clicks. That will cock your shutter. Now if you push the shutter button, it should work.
