The "don't forget" motif in the middle here really screams "you messed up in every way possible and now you've got the worst ending that you deserve." It feels sad, but also feels like something nightmarish is about to happen, which is correct in many ways.

This song seems to be split into three parts akin to Gigyas' theme
A lot of this UST actually looks like it could be taking inspiration from Gigyas
It is similar to how the eight melodies play in the Giygas battle theme,slow and giving you a faint sense of hope to motivate you to fight against this Eldritch Being until the end
I hope that if we fight Gaster in Deltarune the battle takes a lot of inspiration from Giygas, that would be scary and awesome af

This is what fear sounds like in its purest form.
I like how the nice familiar melody at about 2:38 is contrasted harshly by the unnatural twisted corrupted noise to accentuate how wrong and terrifying it actually is. There is no dark without light. Without it, one doesn't know how dark, darker, yet darker the shadows really are.
I like to say the opposite, familiarity fosters comfort, but the tone shifts so suddenly that it is almost unnerving, following everything before it, the familiar moteif is almost just as scary as it feels so out of place to the rest of the song
Genuinely this is my favorite Gaster related Deltarune video on YT, this is EXACTLY how I want that fight to go, a Giygas style fight against Gaster that’s creepy as hell utilizing the fact he’s literally been physically torn apart into melted fragments and pieces of himself to the full advantage. Stuff like the Im with you in the dark music box, using REDACTED for Dess’s head sprite, the tons of Gaster “faces” (I think I even see Uboa’s face from Yume Nikki in there and if that’s not a coincidence that props to putting Uboa in a Gaster sprite that’s a cool callback), like another comment said, even if something like this isn’t in Deltarune it’s incredible that this can always still exist. All of your UST’s are the best DR UST’s this platform has to offer, keep that good work up (also nice Gameboy Camera reference with the battle text)
Everything about this is perfect in all the wrong ways. Dess' icon being [redacted], Kris' health, the background, the song itself, the backstory, the idea the weird route devolves into a horrifying monstrosity at the end to punish you for what you did, everything.

This song is the closest one to get to that feeling for me

It isn’t like the others, in the sense that it’s fractured, broken, twisted - something isn’t right with it. The sinking feeling of dread encroaches further and further as this thing lies broken beyond you or it’s own mind, and the droning of the song groans through. Makes the don’t forget music box that much more powerful

The final battle to assume who the one in control really is, to free yourself from the clutches of the one that sought to control you for his own gain. Your choices have not yet mattered to this point; here, against the one who speaks in hands, is where your choice to have fought for *power* truly makes the difference. The Angel's Heaven will descend, and it will all be for only YOU to behold.

I imagine here that gaster is both the secret and final boss of this chapter when you do the weird route. During the chapter, he occasionally appears and says weird things to you in wingdings, revealing new secret paths and attempting to block off the old ones that lead to the fountain, promising that if you follow these paths you will "☞︎✋︎☠︎👎︎ 👎︎☜︎💧︎💧︎ ✌︎❄︎ ❄︎☟︎☜︎ ☜︎👎︎☝︎☜︎ ⚐︎☞︎ ❄︎☟︎☜︎ ✞︎⚐︎✋︎👎︎📪︎ ✌︎☠︎👎︎ ⚐︎👌︎❄︎✌︎✋︎☠︎ ❄︎☼︎🕆︎☜︎ ☞︎☼︎☜︎☜︎👎︎⚐︎💣︎📬︎" As an attempt to lure you in.
