    Do you have OE tires?

I was a tyre fitter and ran my own shop for many years . I saw so many cars get ruined by that whole trend of putting on the widest ,lowest profile tyre with the hugest rims . so many cars are just not designed for them .
    Interesting vid 👍

The right tires make a huge difference! On my 2ton IH I went from dual 10r22.5 to a single 425/65r22.5. They are 14 inches wide on an 8.25 wheel. Just one of those are rated for 11400lbs. I lost almost 600 lbs of rotating mass. Total weight went from 11000lbs even to 10420lbs.

Great info here . I chose not to go with offset rims which made it very difficult with my lift but now I see I chose right not to.

I periodically spray the outside of my tires with 303 Protectant to prevent cracking / drying out . And since I can use a lift that mechanics use , I will spray the inside of them .

What if my official tires size is
    225 60 16
And I am planning to replace them with
    215 60 16
Is that a good idea for better gas mileage?
Do you think it can effect the handling?

Dude I'm doing the same thing but I went down 2 sizes. 205 55 16
(Mine suppose to 225 60 16 as well) I used to run 235 30 18 and loved them but I think it wore out the power steering and front axels

I see people with low profile tires. I know they can improve car handling. But in Michigan I prefer a smaller rim and in some case one size up in sidewall potholes are rough on cars/rims also more comfort and rarely anybody pushes there vehicle hard enough to justify low profile tires I swap between summer tires and actual snow tires narrow snow tires negates the need for 4 wheel drive yes in Michigan

After punctured the tire (pothole) I was in need to install spare tire, so I could only get in that situation 225/50/17 tire (other three are 215/50/17). One wider tire installed on the rear right position.
I'm in the process of finding the same 215/50/17 tire, and occasionally driving with one wider tire (and with different pattern), and I didn't notice any change in control, balance, braking, also in 6th gear on highway.
Do I really need to match one wider tire ASAP?
What are the symptoms of driving with one tire wider 10mm than others on the system?
    Thanks.

wow, so much interesting info, really educational
i'm relatively new to the cars world, would you please make a video about the basics every car owner should know? I only know how to accelerate, brake, steer the wheel and go from point A to point B...
    thanks

Honestly, i know you mean well but... wide or narrow has more to do with your application and which attributes are more important for you as well.
    What's your use case?

With average vehicle people think wider is always better....especially in rain or snow covered roads, its not true! I put a tall narrow dedicated snow tires on my Camry in the winter It drives better than my GF's AWD station wagon (soccer mom SUV) The only thing AWD/4 wd might do better is initial acceleration, skinny tires in snow stops and turns much better Seems most vehicles are now equipped with much wider, taller, huge rims than necessary....all for appearance In Michigan when snowy most of the vehicles I have seen that slide off the road are AWD/4WD vehicles.....

Also factor in that because they’re driving a 4WD or SUV, they’re more “invincible” than “those other cars.” Umm, nope. They may be able to accelerate faster than other vehicles, but they all stop and skid on ice just the same!

Low profile cost you too much money. More flats and puts rim in danger of cracking more.
Gotta like tip toe around the city and then kinda let it go on the interstate.
