Vegan Roll With A Twist - How To Make Sushi Series

  • This week's DIY sushi episode brings yet another level to the skill game with our Vegan Roll with a twist. Instead of using nori for this roll (seaweed sheet) we make our own sheet using blanched romaine lettuce leafs. It's not hard to make the leafs, nor is it hard placing everything inside of the roll; the skill comes with rolling everything together and then cutting it up and making it look appetizing.
    We know we needed to keep our Vegans happy since they have been so voice-tress on our channel after our lobster video...we hope you enjoy this video made just for you all.

    For the camera man: Yes, plants were also alive at one point, but because they don't have a nervous system, they don't feel pain. Pain and suffering are the primary objections vegans have with consuming animal products.
    For the Chef: That roll is an interesting adaptation. Looks delicious!

      I actually used to love seafood of all kinds, especially sushi, but stopped eating all animal products long ago and feel so much better! Sadly seafood is now so polluted with heavy metals, plastics, radiation, parasites, and a whole lot of chemicals, we should all avoid it. I really appreciate videos like this that offer alternatives, but was really annoyed and put off by the commentary about how it would taste better adding slaughtered animal parts to this lovely fresh roll, and the nonsense that murdering plants with no nervous system is equivalent to killing sentient animals. Cognitive dissonance.

    Plants may be alive, but they have no central nervous system and nothing to suggest that they may be sentient beings, whereas animals are sentient, have feelings/emotions and feel the pain when they are tortured and killed. Besides that there are many other reasons why people choose not to eat animals or their byproducts.
    Thank you for your consideration and the awesome veggie roll recipe though! It looks delicious (: I really like the idea of using romaine in lieu of nori

    • @7svn.
      @7svn. 3 роки тому

      plenty of research out there that says otherwise even vegan sites do talk about how plants feel a form of pain, may not be the same as how we feel plain but its pain non the less.
      As well plants are a living thing, they need water n food (soil) to survive they grow and even move to where they can get sun.
      claiming to not eat meat due to what feels pain is stupid, other studies show you need meat in your diet and being vegan only isnt as healthy as you think.
      just sensitive people who refuse to accept reality that we need meat

      Feel the same! No matter how much we say that though people are going to say that its a comment section and that they have the right to say what they want. I try saying the samething in a different video, that if they dont like it dont watch it, and people just ended up getting very hateful towards me....just wished people had more respect! I mean its animals yes buttttt god did send animals here on earth for us to eat! But i know ill get a lot of hate probably, but im prepared for it!

Hello, think about the audience that'll be viewing this... apparently he could careless that it was for those that don't eat animal products. Why else were you shooting for a "vegan" video then, buddy?!?!

    I'm 7 years pescatarian (I don't eat meat except for fish and other seafood). The reason I don't eat meat isn't because I don't want to hurt animals, it's because I want to minimize my impact on the environment. Monocropping deteriorates soil quality and feeding cows corn leads to a rise in methane. I recognize that there are some vegetarians/vegans that feel very strongly about animal cruelty and the idea of killing animals for food. While I don't necessarily share that view as I recognize eating meat as a natural part of life I still respect their opinion. Now I really want to take the camera man's first comment about plants being a living thing as well to mean that all food should be valued. As someone coming from a quasi-vegi point of view for environmental reasons I can respect that. However, he then jokes about skirt steak and bacon which makes it clear to me that he either doesn't understand where vegetarians are coming from or doesn't respect their position (my hope is for the former). Being vegetarian or vegan is a personal sacrifice that is made every day because of something you believe in, be it for health, environmentalism, or animal sympathy. Having that sacrifice belittled with humor is offensive and unfortunately something that vegetarians face all the time. It shows a lack of respect for people who are just trying to do what they can to do a little bit of good in the world. If you are ok with that then there is really nothing I can say to you. However, if you generally like to consider yourself someone that has respect for other people and the convictions of others then try to consider how the things you say might reflect on those individuals.

      Thank you for taking the time to reply. I understand how it can be to say something in the moment and not fully consider how it can be interpreted. I'm glad to hear that neither of these comments were intended as a jab at vegetarians. It is my sincere hope that people strive to treat each other with understanding and respect.
