Just heard your voice for the first time. I stopped everything I was doing to see “ what is this PASSION!?!” Solid info.Inspiring. Great life force energy. 🙏🏼 much thanks.
Just a note, Brassicas don't form mycorrhizal associations with fungi, they are one of the few exceptions, so worm castings and trace minerals are good but save your mykos :-)
But do you have the t shirt? In mobile, Al I was wearing mine walking out of Lowes and a young fella gave me a second hand shoutout👍🏻I love love love when young people get excited about learning as they’re growing. I’ve got a lot of persimmon and loquat trees, a few lemon and mandarin plus just bout 2 lychee(love these)…
I found your channel about two years through boogie brew. Excellent information. I’ve been growing since 1971 and I’m learning a great deal from you. Thank you.
My backyard garden butts up to a state forest which is a pine forest so I live where it is very sandy. I have bought a couple loads of black dirt (years ago) and just make compost from kitchen scraps, an occasional load of livestock manure (old) and add a little bone and blood meal occasionally, ash from my fire pit and I get more produce than I can eat and preserve for a year. I just can’t afford all those expensive amendments but still have a great garden ! Best of luck
I watch all these various yt gardening videos on how to grow beautiful plants - which you do. Then I remember how my poor old Mom - a widow raising a houseful of children - used to garden so that we had food to eat. She plowed, fertilized, seeded, watered, and weeded, and let mother nature do the rest. I look at your line-up of bags and think, "How in the world can it be practical to grow produce with all these expensive additives/soils? I am bewildered by this modern version of gardening, where you spend as much or more to grow something, as it would if you bought it in the store. It just doesn't make sense to me. I am just an old lady who learned the garden basics from my Mom...before we were told that you needed all this "stuff" to get a good crop. Don't know how we managed it!
I don't know how old you are. I suppose I'm relatively young. I've often thought about how strong/healthy my grandma (who recently passed away) and her siblings are/were, under the circumstances, despite growing up fairly poor with the struggles that come with that. Then a few years ago, I went to a talk and learned about a scientific study that showed the nutrient level of soils and the foods grown in them were significantly higher decades ago than they are now, on average. Perhaps that partially explains the difference between your mom's "simple" garden approach and many of the gardening suggestions we see today.
John, I thank you for a great video and I really appreciate being a shorter one. Just makes it accessible when it's 20 minutes or less! Thank you again!
This was such a great video. I will start mixing my companies of the same products. Different paths are not always taken because we tend to stick to one item that works well. But I will follow this lead. Thanks
Good, fully mature, homemade compost with a wide variety of materials used to make it, plus a dose of seaweed added will give you a minimum of seventy-three micro nutrients and trace elements and plenty of worm castings. This should eliminate the need for buying anything whatever, but still yield excellent healthy plants.
My wife is Asian (Filipino and Chinese) so I appreciate your info about Asian vegetables. She is from the Philippines so much of what she was use to cannot grow where we live which is a temperate zone.
John. If you typically start peppers 8-10 weeks before the last frost date in soil. If I do hydroponic seed starting and then transplant outdoors, when should I start my seeds? Thank you! Love the channel. Awesome job!
I used sea salt (Not table salt) which has ocean minerals. Korean farmers uses this method and gets great results. Application 1 teaspoon to 6L water apply 2-3 times a month.
I must add though that I do use the boogie black but sparingly it's not cheap and I use lactic acid to break down any rock or rock dust and I can make that cheap myself. But thank you for all the information yet again
Hey John - Colorado Worm Castings - makes a superb product. You can find worms and eggs as well as some rove beetles from time to time in there shipments. If you love castings you need to try these!
FANTASTIC VIDEOS BROTHER LOVE FROM ANTONIOS AND PANAGIOTIS FROM HUGHESDALE MELBOURNE VICTORIA AUSTRALIA GREAT ARRAY OF VIDEOS JOHN KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
John this is the 1st time I'm viewing you! So far so good, very informative. I could not get the closed caption to work. Would of been helpful since I am hard of hearing. Maybe you can check into this.Have a great day
@@kaybell1501 I know that epsom salts are used by commercial growers to green up their cucumber crops and supposedly improves flower blooming. I didn't get that many tomatoes last summer, so I don't know if epsom salts really helped but then again it could have been to not planting early enough before the summer heat set in. Thanks for the reply!
Worm castings from a worm bin are superior to bagged castings. My bin got black soldier flies in it and they make the composted organic waste even better. My castings are literally moving with life. Bagged stuff is better than no castings by far, but if you just get a bin you can make your own out of food scraps.
John, appreciate you're good informative instruction. I know this is a question from the past but I would like to know if the garden Tower worked well and if you think with the upgrades it would be worth around $250 because I won 100 off plus it's on sale I think. Thank you
Hi John, I have been following you for years starting with your juicing channel. Could you start linking the products you're suggesting / promoting? having a hard time finding everything. thanks lol
Brassica never form mycorrhizal associations and their roots contain chemicals that are toxic to soil fungi, so your mycorrhizal powder is wasted. They are the main exception to the rule and the addition of mycorrhizal supplements will help most other garden plants.
Love ALL of your videos John you’re very interesting, informative, and fun to watch!! 🤩 pay no mind yo these people who want to correct you or complain about how long or short your videos are they’re just know it all’s or technically challenged 😂 keep doing what you do I appreciate your hard work and enjoy every minute of your videos 😁🤙✌️

Another great video. Can you give an update of your Avaçado tree or did you cut it down. Hope your parents are doing well. Blessings and wishings for a great new year 2022👍😊
It has never produced. Still living. Best thing that was done was my neighbor topped it, and it caused it to sprout some new growth, plus the weather has been getting warmer, as it hasnt enjoyed the winter cold.
Thank you, John. Love and support from Manitoba, Canada (right now it's -20'C outside; but I'll be starting seedlings in a few weeks) Question: is it true that I should get my husband to pee in a bucket and add water and add to my garden?
It will kill some plants but heavy feeders should be able to handle it as long as it’s watered down and not done all the time. John will know much more about it though so hopefully he will chime in and let ya know. I don’t personally use it but it’s a free source of fertilizer and if ya broke it’s better than nothing hey. When my citrus tree goes into the ground I may start using some on them cos I know they will be fine with it as long as it’s watered down and not done too much.
Just heard your voice for the first time. I stopped everything I was doing to see “ what is this PASSION!?!” Solid info.Inspiring. Great life force energy. 🙏🏼 much thanks.

I like both for different applications
20 min is usually my max as well

$17 tomato ?!
I understand!!!!
You got off cheap.
How did it taste for $17? Loved your comment : D

John, I feed my worms buffalo poo and leaf mould. Solid gold!
I already use worm castings, mycorrhizal fungi, insect frass💚🙏🌱🌿 good tips may try some of the others as well
John thank you for the shorter video. While being in the gardens etc during the day im sometimes too tired to watch any hour long show. Thanks again
Hair is looking very stylish. Looks great.
I know how easy it is to end up with a long video, but I like the shorter format.
Shorter vids are more digestible for most people. Maybe chop some of the longer ones up to boost the content.
Thanks, I like the shorter version much better. But I'm wondering were those brassicas? If so then you don't need to add the mycorrhizae fungi.
Thanks for the video. I definitely need to add the humate soil conditioner.
brilliant to add to the roots directly. wow

What about Epsom salts? Do you recommend them?
Epsom salts are a source of magnesium. I think you dissolve it in water and water it round plants if they show signs of magnesium deficiency.

Where do you purchase your plants here in Vegas?
Do you add this only once or do you add it more times throughout the growing cycle?
Once, then like boogie brew or a worm tea sprayed on the leaves ...but check his vids

Where do you find Boogie Block? I googled it and couldn't find it.
Where you do you source the Worm Gold Plus locally in Las Vegas?
John have you tried lab “lactic acid bacteria”
What zone are you in?
Hey why can't we whip up some bags of this
We could get it out there
Trabsie dust
million dollar hole for a 3 cent plant
Advert for expensive stuff you probably don’t need,
Thank you!
Where can you purchase roc mineral dust?
AZ water is very heavy in minerals, will that work in place of rock dust?
Temp in the 60's in January? Must be in cali?
