    My only gripe is how they nerf the Arena keys for "the economy", but the builds that they haven't fixed, with 100k ward are infinitely farming higher corruption which have greater gold rates..

      Yea that's a great point. You farm gold significantly faster with a powerful character.

    I think your comment about big mana and the gear changes is a good one but even one layer higher, its just bad to kill playstyles if you can help it.
    I was brand new to last epoch and went in without guides and just keyed into the "Big mana" as it seemed like a straight forward and intuitive build and seemed like Sorc had some sign post mechanics for it. Little did I know how badly it would go. After doing research I found that I just missed a window for big mana and instead was playing a build post being gutted. I was attempting meteors with 100% crit chance instead of the static but similar concept.
    It almost made me quit because I felt like the developers tricked me into playing a bad build and Sorc didnt have any pivots I was interested in. I made a small post on the suggestions forum called "Sorc. Big Mana, Bigger Problems Suggestions for Focus" where I made a small suggestion to make Focus more of a big mana identity spell and perhaps shift its tree around or add more big mana support for boots, catalyst etc. I think in a game like last epoch the goal should be to keep as many doors open to players as possible and try to have skills support diverse playstyles. I think bugged or over performing builds are a problem, but a bigger problem is stifling playstyles which can be caused by a lot of stuff.

    On the end mana comment, devs already had made a good change out of an unintended interaction in reworking holy trail and jugdement to scale both with spell damage and healing effectiveness. It surprised and saddened me that they removed the mana interaction after making this other change in such a cool way

    your points around 19:00 are so important IMO. its really about the sandbox vision a dev talked about. We provide tools and a vision but if you stumble upon unintented fun things we want you to experience those (to some degree). Thats part of the fun and exploration.
    POE does keep certain builds alive aswell like certain loop builds. I hope EHG will do something similar

    Devs have a tendency to only focus on bugs in favor of players.
    I'd like to see the same focus on bugs that negativly affects players.
    it can be really detramental when you just fix the one obvious thing, because it makes you feel like they'll just nerf anything good as soon as its discovered. End of season is better for this sort of thing.

    I'd love to get back to playing Last Epoch but the last 2 characters I've leveled have been bugged in the other direction. I farmed cremorious for my Warlock to use the set gloves so I could spam Infernal Shade with the fissures node to consume them but most of the time it doesn't function. I swapped and just finished leveling a Shaman to 81 to equip sacrificial embrace only to learn that they do not affect Avalanche at all, just turning off crits for the skill. Now I've got a broken high level Shaman instead of a more viable beastmaster or druid.
    Its really discouraging trying to make my own builds when so many bugs render them inoperable, especially since work has been hectic and I've not got much time to play. I would have hoped EHG put more effort into fixing things that don't work instead of trying to work on balancing tweaks now that the server killing skills are handled

      Yep, tons of people I've talked with have had the same experience. I agree with you and would love to see bugs that result in nodes or skills or items being absolutely useless to be remedied.

    Just so that you're aware: the falconer who's currently holding top 2 arena was able to get to 2200 waves because ghostflame infinite damage/ward can be transitioned to another player, even non-warlock, and snapshot it, so he did this with multishot and billions of snapshotted chance to ignite given by other player with ghostflame. Same thing goes for 1st place.
    I'm not sure if 3rd place was achieved without using ghostflame bug or not, but 4th probaly is legit (as it doesn't have ghostflame) and we know for sure BinaQc result is legit (6 place, 1140 waves falconer).
    It's also worth mentioning that even though falconers are OP compared to other classes, explosive ballista builds can reach 1000 waves only because the build is a glass cannon that is carried by explosion aoe, so for a build that gets one shotted by every hit it kind of makes sense to have much more damage compared to more balanced version.
    P.S. Most people don't know people from ladder personally and so they're unaware how exactly specific high arena waves numbers were achieved and which exactly bugs were utilized. This can cause a lot of whining to nerf/bugfix based on arena top or what people heard which often incorrectly displays reality. I'm really afraid that this may cause EHG nerfing builds mid cycle due to popularity.

    How do you think the torment ignite build will work now that the bug fix is happening?

      It's still gonna be the best Warlock build but not capable of 2k corruption. You'll need to adjust your itemization to raise your minion hp % so you get more ward from veil.

    Great level headed thinking Curse. They should rework these builds so that unintended mechanics arent being abused while not eliminating the builds entirely. And then they should buff unused builds so they can be viable. I'm ok with a "fair" slow killing build but the biggest issue in my opinion is movement speed some classes and builds zip around the map with insane clear while others have to halt in order to do moves. It just feels bad and ruins game flow. I think that's a bigger issue than players abusing bugged nodes 😂

    I think you're way more experienced with this game, but as someone who has played hundreds of hours of rogue, I really don't feel like the falconer builds I've tried are nearly as overpowered as Warlock (I've played both). Even after the bug fix, Warlock would be one of the most tanky builds in the game and Falconer wouldn't be close in that regard. Sure, you can push pretty high by going completely glass cannon and making sure not to get hit, that's way different than having a million ward. Even after Warlock veil bug fix, I'd still call Warlock the better class. It's not just about how high you can push, it's about how consistent you can do it and how easily you can do it. I'd even call Runemaster better in some aspects, such as corruption pushing in teams with Snap's reowyn plasma orb build. Measuring how OP something is exclusively with their top potential in arena isn't a good metric.
    For example, if one build can face tank Julra at lvl 40 and the other would need to dodge every mechanic to beat it, but would beat it faster, I'd still call the face tanking build stronger just because the floor of the build is so close to the ceiling of the other build. In the same vein, shadow daggers isn't OP because it does more damage than any other build in the game and has infinite survivability, it's OP because the damage application is so extremely efficient with umbral blades and the build is very fast. If umbral blades was a channeled ability, shadow daggers wouldn't be OP anymore, it would actually be below mid. (please don't suggest this to EHG)

    MG should have an advantage in lightless arbor (gain a bunch of gold) and CoF in soulfire bastion (merchants inherit CoF bonus)

    Honestly I'm really surprised by EHG's take on the bugged builds. Can't really understand why they won't nerf it. It's so op that warlocks would probably perform well even after they adjust the value (40%to 4% minion health to ward)

    The idea of comboing started from a bug in street fighter, look at where we would be if fighting games didn't have combos. I agree embrace the fun, even if its a bug.

      @@codesymphony it's simple dude, why would someone play the much less powerful hand crafted build and struggle to make it more powerful when they can just play the overpowered ones? Wraithlord hits for 1 mil as soon as you put the helmet on at 65... Auto targeted etc. Not even an intricate build or anything. Just straight up superior with no effort.

      broken build can clear 2-3k coruprtion and get much more loot and gold then default builds. If i want play in mix/max i must play only with 2 classes. Its not interesting @@codesymphony

      12:27 this is bad for the game. Also I feel like scaling defenses is similar to this, “just get ward” there should be alternatives that are readily available dodge, armor, health stack, healthy balances, res stack etc etc, seems strong builds are only atk speed crit ward or minion cuckery

      @@TheCurseBG me too! i think the skill is inherently too strong however you spin it not only is it a huge damage multiplier but it is also a "im safe for x seconds button" even without crazy wards it generates, i think its function needs a little revisit

    Yeah, I'm really confused by their reasoning... CoF is objectively worse in every way now. Honestly, it was worse for gold as well even before the nerf because you can sell items for millions. Not only that, but if you swap to CoF to farm gold, you're not getting the MG favor you need to buy what you want anyway so it was a bad strategy from the start.
    In terms of CoF loot, I feel we need prophecies or buffs to finding boss specific loot, since that is so extremely much worse in CoF than MG. I think MG is like 1000x better than CoF at the min-max stage right now, I'd want it to only be like 2-10x worse. I'm okay with MG being better, I won't play it because I enjoy farming my own gear, but it feels a little bad right now.
    In terms of Warlock bug with million ward, it should 100% be fixed.

    If damage snapshots does profane veil give you any damage for fissure or dots?

      In theory, yes. Veil has a node for snapshotting.

      From what I understand, the only snap shotting is your ignite stacks on fissure activation. Pestilence stacks, wither stacks, curse count and probably a few other factors that arent all debuffs, still contribute to fluctuating dps, even while in Veil.
      I'd love to get more accurate info and or get corrected on this.

      The spell damage is snapshotted at the point of casting. I assume dmg "increase" is snap shotted as well but I would test it to be 100% certain. Other dmg benefits like wither stacks and res shred are dependent on the enemy so they are not snap shotted. The profane veil more dmg is global so it is applied as a separate multiplier.

    I disagree, don't leave the devs alone. I 100% agree to be respectful, but don't by any means leave them alone. You paid for a game and they just have not done a good job. EHG gets so much good faith from their fans, which is fine, but they still need to be held accountable. This isn't early access, this isn't beta, this is the final release. It was so bad for my I shelved the game and am not going to look at it until crap like what you see in these patch notes is no longer present.

    At this point I would want an actual change. Not a nerf nor a fix.
    I would like to have ALL of the 'minion hp -> ward' removed from the talent.
    Something this big should definitely be next cycle tho.
    I have also come to change my earlier opinion. And opinions I have read before, which I disagreed with in the past, I now agree on. I think it's too late to "fix" the HP%.
    It's established as a core part of the warlock identity at this point. Ethical or not.
    I will personally continue to play without exploiting the bug tho.
    (I do use the node, but the only minions I consume are the ones I spawn from Lich's Harvested Legions passive - and 0% minion health increases outside of that).

    I say no to fixing bugs mid league, that don't freak with the game stability
    My reasoning has less to do with being overpowered, and more to do with being a unique experience
    Will always be able to play with the bugged item or skill in any league in its standard state. Will only be able to do something weird and crazy with it whenever something slips through the cracks. And while this is this game's first league, so people might think about it in isolation...
    I'm thinking about it long-term. It's fun and engaging to find something finicky and op, and be able to engage with it.
    Especially knowing that it's only temporary.

      who cares? Ppl cry about bugs and power on things they don't even understand... like comments under this video. One guy at 2nd ladder = they cry falconer is bugged, EVERY falconer build. They play cof and can't find boss drop. MG is op and so on. I understand those who played and can judge, but ... ppl just like to complain

    Before tome of experience as reward COF dupe nerf and with arena keys span you was getting 200k-300k gold per echo with tomes as reward on average. Per echo. One dude did calculation and they was like: prophesy is 2750 favor + ~300+ for each reroll, and favor from tomes was ~1950 + exp from mobs. Can't recall correct numbers, but prophesy with lvl 10 COF gives (6 keys * 2x proc lens * 2x double reward lens * 2x 10 lvl dupe) * 6500 gold = 312000 gold.

    Fix ward, leave profane veil it's one of two instances where you take bone wall. I average 20k ward without profane veil. Ward is the only defense that works without HP and thus making it the best defense in the game. Should Ward be capped to 300% of your hp, Ward will be pretty fine. If a player caps out at around 12k ward, then that would mean the player might actually have to consider other defenses like crit avoidance and armor.

    I just think people need to stop crying about build bugs or builds being too strong and let them focus on fixing the bugs that actually affect your play, like multiple bugs with playing in parties, especially in dungeons, and server stability as well as future content.

    Pending on what MG has incoming, my initial thought process/feelings, if they are ganna keep doing rolling patches/bug fixes/ects during the cycle, and CoF doesn't have any real benefit over MG, why play CoF? You play a build (weather you know its bugged or not) it gets patched, now depending on how hard you pushed it that character is dead in the water without help from friends...or just go buy new gear if your MG and fix your build in under a day. Keys are worthless so you want stash tabs? Go MG, sell stuff and buy tabs. No bonus XP, so why not be MG?
    Unless your SSF or ASF, CoF is kinda a moot point atm. Granted, I'll hold off on solidifying my doom and gloom and see what MG has down the pipe.
    An alternative I think they could have done, is made it so what faction you pick is account wide. So no split faction alts. They could also put a lock out on swaping factions, say 24hrs. Then CoF players could afford their stash tabs easily. MG players would have to do a potential day w/o utilizing the market, this would also make it so they would be (potentially) incentivized to spend all day farming keys. Lets be honest just reading/typing that sounds like a chore let alone playing that way. So that would narrow down the people doing it to predominantly the try hards only.
    RMT however, f'k em. If thats whats happening, I agree with your stance. Gatta get ahead of them quickly and brutaly before they cement themselves into our community.

    You are a smart person Curse....but man...do you really compare balance issue with the actual bug? Falconers are OP as fuck and they NEED to be nerfed yes, but they are not in the same category as the bugged Profane Veil...why? Because when you read their passives/skills it actually does exactly what it says which means it's OVERTUNED, meanwhile Profane Veil says 4% and does 40% which means it's a BUG...so you saying if they fix Profane Veil now, they should also fix Falconer, well technically no? Because fixing A BUG along side the other bugs they've fixed should happen and Falconer should be NERFED for the next cycle...it's simple as that...Do I like Falconer pushing 2k corruption? Fck no...and I wish they could NERF it right now, but if they don't want to NERF mid cycle then unfortunately we have to wait...on the Warlock BUG no we don't...really simple as that, you should not compare the two with the logical stand point, even tho I know what you mean there...

    I think with Falconer, and warlock as well (but I don't play that class so can't 100% say), is that most of the builds are pretty much 100% built around 1 or 2 specific ways of building the falconer.
    It's either throwing traps or ballistas, or it's shadow daggers, which it just does better than blade dancer. There's no real alternative builds, the melee build paths are a joke, a pure falconer build that relies on falconry can barely scratch 200 corruption because that straight up doesn't scale, but other nodes end up getting triple, quadruple, exponential scaling. It is the same as you said: building your own builds is in a quite sorry state of affairs. This makes me extremely sad as the biggest enjoyment I get from this game is trying to home-cook some builds and just run with those.
    I'm ok that they might get "stuck" at 500 corruption, but having trouble with 200 corruption just because you don't go cookie-cutter builds is quite sad.
    Now it feels to me that the whole game suffers quite a bit from this as many old skills just have huge skill point costs for basic functionality (shurikens has 4 node requirement just to make your shurikens pierce, not counting travel nodes) and many of the newer skills / classes have certain sections where the devs feel like they did all the work, and then other areas in the skill that just straight up look absolutely forgotten.

    The ward mechanic can be fixed easily, by capping it at 3x max health. It'll force you to build for 2 defensives to get high ward... and if you can do that, then you earned it.

      Saying it kills a build is ridiculous btw... if you need over 8k ward then your "build" is trash anyway.

    i think they should fix bugs but at the same time it frustrates me how people over exaggerate the problems to try prove a point. i've seen people saying that warlocks get 300k free ward, which is just a flat out lie, whilst at the same time they are happily running around as a falcon dealing millions of dmg but cry about a warlock having high numbers of ward.
    it is a tough decision to make because some people have spent time farming gear and a lot of time pushing corruption, which they might not be able to clear after a change. you could argue that they knowingly abused a bug to push but at the same time a lot of people didn't realise there was a bug when they first started. they just assumed it was stupidly overtuned like a lot of other builds like falconer and wraithlord
    either decision will cause some pushback so i think they have to go with whatever they feel is best for the long term health of the game, because im sure other things like this will happen in the future too, and i'd rather they make their mind up about it now instead of going back and forward and flipflopping

      300k ward is not a lie at all.
      My COF build is not even close to optimized and gets 180k ward on the first cast, then when I use it again on CD it goes over 300k.
      An optimized build with t7 minion life everywhere will get 300k on first cast ez.

      @@VictorCreedGaming i must be missing something then because i have 5 minion health affixes and get around 65k ward then it bugs out for another 25k or so. by the time the cooldown is back im down to below 25k. doesn't really go above 110k even after using one after the other on cooldown. so i fail to see how it is 300k with zero investment

      @@crazypearce I wouldn't call it zero investment, thats hyperbole.
      But 5 affixes are really low, I have 8, of which 3 are t6 and only 1 below t5.
      You'd definitely at least need all 8 t6 or maybe even some t7s to make it 300k.

      The fuck are you talking about, dude? It's a bugged skill. The actual build would still be strong, but the current one with the bug is way overtuned. They need to fix it to make it normal. Again, even the normal state is still strong.
