Fully agree with what you're saying regarding subs. I too have a very steep crossover curve on my system processor, and don't have anything higher than 100Hz going into the subs. Anything higher, and it gets really muddy, really quickly. Anything I need to tidy up from venue to venue, I do on the console. Not sure about yourself, but something I will mention is that I don't use graphic EQ at all, I do everything with the parametric EQs, and keep my effects banks for effects.
Thank you for that! I just got an M32R and a DL16, having such a hard time routing the outs, I wanna use 1-8 from the M32R and 9-16 on the DL16... but nothing seems to work! I even watched your other video but you were using EITHER/OR. Any thoughts? Thank you!
I’m not in front of my console, but from memory: your first bank of outputs should be set to “local 1-8” the second bank should be set to “out 9-16”. I’ve never used a DL16 however with the DL32 it works like that. I have my 9-16 outputs mirrored so I can drive a PA from stage or FOH. Let me know if this works, I’ll have my console up in my shop this week.
Love your content! Been considering getting an m32r or m32c but also flirting with the idea of a dLive CDM32 rack with a touch surface & maybe a midi controller until I can afford a C3500. The channels on the m32 just disappear so fast.
Ive been a M32C user for years. The only thing that is making me look at A&H at the moment is the Midas build quality. The AES50 card died in my M32R on the first day of a 2 week tour. Luckily I had my M32C in the rack for a back up.
I generally send the full mix that is high passed as well. Depends on the stage volume though. If it’s a smaller room with fills and there are amps/wedges on stage, I’ll just send vocals, tracks, keys or any other direct source. Larger rooms is the full mix.
Hey Greg, the system tech dials the PA every day. The headline FOH and I both have full abilities to eq our sends however we like. This crew is very cool. I’m on the road now. They give me free reign to do whatever I want with the PA for our set.
They are Ram Mounts. I had to build this case quickly, so only the upright pole is permanently mounted in the case. The iPad mount, laptop arm and extension piece live in a separate case. Future designs will accommodate the peripherals.
