Hot take: every game with character creation should have a free demo before release that lets you make a bunch of characters to use in game, like Saints Row 4(?) and Dragons dogma did
In terms of giving the player nearly infinite optical possibilites to create their character, "Team Ninja" are absolute masters of their craft, the Character Editors for "Nioh 2" and "Wo Long" with their sheer endless number of ways players can create their character are the most impressive I've seen to this very day. Also, ever since "Nioh 2" I consider it a mark of good quality when a character creator lets you create a character with heterochromia.
City of Heroes still has my favorite character creator ever. It’s simplistic by today’s standards, but it had thousands of parts with millions of combinations plus 14 archetypes (the games version of classes) and loads of power sets. You could even change the color of your powers if you wanted to have purple lightning or blue fire.
If they had body sliders like Capcom's been doing recently with Dragon's Dogma 2 and Street Fighter 6, BG3's character creation system would be perfect.
Speaking of Tyranny, there is also Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous. While pretty lame in terms of appearence, in terms of gameplay it is downright insane. It makes a game like Baldur's Gate 3's character creator look tame.
In my opinion, every game should have a character creator, or at least you can change the appearance of the existing character during the game. Lately there are few who have this.
My god, I had totally forgotten about that game....there was a time in my life where it even ended up on a christmas wishlist.....gladly I never got it xD
Disappointing that 8/10 of these games I’m fairly certain were developed or released prior to AEW Fight Forever. We really expected a modern No Mercy but ended up getting just a glossier GameCube WWE or Smackdown v Raw with worse CAW suite.
Starfield just looks unnatural like hell, so sterile.......like, 10 steps back from the way more organic looks people had in Skyrim....and that was over a decade ago.....

I really don't think that's a hot take lol. Just a genuinely good idea. I think black dessert online did similar and maybe dragon age origin.
Black Desert did it
Not a hot take, if devs were smart and had confidence in their character creator, they'd allow it.

And now even rise of the ronin dd it as well, it’s crazy just how much crazy stuff you can make
Street fighter 6 deserves a mention

2:23 - Dominick Mysterio stepped on a hornet’s nest.
Ornstein's hammer?! (pushes glasses up nose)

I wonder if they know that, "Die young; leave a pretty corpse." Is an actual quote. 🤔
WWF No Mercy on N64
Even for its time, the female body models are terrible
Have not laught so much in a long time. Thank you for the video !!!

9:40 Kray - Toss 🤣
dragons dogma spoiled me

if you ever do the terrible ones, don't forget Fighter Maker on PS1
My god, I had totally forgotten about that game....there was a time in my life where it even ended up on a christmas wishlist.....gladly I never got it xD
Black desert online had a pretty good one as well
can't believe you didn't include Honey Select 🤣🤣🤣
Some people never got out of the Victorian era.
I actually managed to create Henry Cavill as my Inquisitor in Dragon Age: Inquisition…. He’s absolutely gorgeous…. My finest creation I’ve ever made!

Where can we find this background music in the beginning?
Mentioning that Starfield is bad but describing player expectations is some safe-play cringe.
The Saints Row Series customisation was crazy.
He had to have pronounced Luffy wrong on purpose!
Every character I've ever tried to make in cyberpunk has really looked basically the same. Make or female.
As far as Starfield is concerned, no matter what you make they all still look like Bethesda characters.
FOOKIN PRONAWNS

Black Desert.
The best character creation is definitely Delta Rune's. No questions asked.
"dinn-usty"
Wwe games have the best character creator I swear
LUF-FI
I wanted to play Code Vein but the weapons are trash

Johnny Depp in Starfield? Well, I guess if you're doing a psychopath run, it helps to look the part...
