Well if you haven't noticed, #4960 was returned to service in September 2009. The locomotive now runs on vegetable oil. #29 is still stored on the Williams Depot platform, but hopefully the railroad will be able to restore it back to operation soon. The steamers now run on the first Saturday of each month from May to September. There are also steam trips on Earth Day and the weekend of the railroad's anniversary.
the fact that they are working so hard to keep steam around is a very honorable feat on their part and i respect them for making what sacrifices they needed to keep steam around
I would love to see the steam train run daily, but I think it was just too expensive to run it on WVO seven days a week. It saves money to run it on weekends.
Well with #29 restored now what if #29, ran trips from November to Febuary every 2 weeks or something, and #4960 ran the steam saturdays in the spring and summer. That could work right? I really want them to run steam in the winter!

#29 sounds really nice with that DRG&W 5 chime
actually i believe it is 4960s original CBQ 5 chime.
The good old days of the GCRY. Very sad that scenes like this do not really happen anymore! Great look back! Thanks for sharing!

Put that CBQ 5er back on 4960 and that Chinese 5er on 29. NOW you have a party
Actually.... put the Star Brass 5 Chime back on 4960 though. Now that's a lovely voice for the O-1A. ^^
@@jimmyhook4852 my apologies. But you’re correct. Have both 5 chimers back on those two you’ve got a celebration.
