Nobody, in my opinion, plays with so much excellence technically with a very deep passion like Julia. The music feels richer, more nuanced, more emotional, exquisitely clear and flowing and that is perfection.
I totally agree with you, and still there're persons who say that she plays by the book. I was Mutter's fan, but now I'm completely with Julia Fischer's performances, look this one: ua-cam.com/video/N2rblR3Tmkc/v-deo.html&ab_channel=FelixMildenberger

I love Tokyo and the Japanese people. I remember a great city park where they released a million or so fireflies. Families everywhere. I went to Japan 5 times in the 70s with Brenda Lee.
Wonderful intonation, with an endearing simplicity in her playing. Really lovely orchestral playing, as well. By the way, the acclaimed Russian-born conductor, Vladimir Jurowski, has expressed strong support for the people of Ukraine (he is a longtime resident of Berlin).
It's really difficult for me to pick between Julia and Hilary when it comes to my favourite female violin soloist. As for the male, It's clearly Itzhak Perlman. But Julia & Hilary are absolutely breathtaking when they play.
@@vijinanadu1962 I would pick Julia Fischer and Shaham over them anyday. You shouldn’t presume anything when you know nothing about the person you’re making the presumption on.
The Romantic Period set the limits on musical dynamics. Although there is modern "music" that extends low frequency to the limits of hearing, melodically the lower limits were produced almost two hundred years ago.
Why the Joachim cadenza again? There are plenty of alternatives, I personally love the Kreisler which no one seems to play these days. Super performance though.
Agreed. Check Boris Brovtsyn. He has a video here, and he plays it, and I think more musically that Chr. Ferras. Ferris played it a mite aggressively for my taste, though he played it well.
I agree about everthing, but not about the sound. In the beginning there is a "clap" that comes over and over. I can hear this "clap" to the end. It ruins my experience of this wonderful concert. And I advice Violin Express to do something about it!
Years later the problems with the audio remain uncorrected, a true disgrace. It is amazing how business people always think that they are entitled to profits at the expense of the great artists they hired. I feel sickened.
I don't feel that this is a notable rendition of the solo part. I have felt her playing as a machine of producing musical notes, with no clear idea of what this work is, specially in the virtuoso passages. To compare with another modern soloist listen to Janine Jansen, both with Järvi and Haitink (even better).
Amazing!👍👍👍This is my favourite interpretation of this concerto!

Emm what about legendary David Oistrakh? His brahms is very great.

Ida Haendel's 1980 recording of the Brahms Violin Concerto with Franz-Paul Decker is also very good in my opinion

Fantastyczne wykonanie. Perfekcyjna artykulacja i intonacja. Wielkie brawa!
There’s a timbre of Oistrakh on the low notes.
Stupendous playing!
One of the top violinists around the world. Great performance of this major violin concerto. Excellent orchestra and conductor. Bravo 👏
Überwältigend schön! Eine der besten mir bislang bekannten Interpretationen.

Majestuosa Interpretación 😍😍
This recording seems to differ from the same I have heard before a few months. This one is an incredible fantastic rendering of Brahms music.
Исполнение как минимум не хуже чем у Hilary Hahn. Потрясающе, Браво.
Stupendous it's all I can say!
Julia Fischer plays in another league of her own.
Her tone blows my mind. She can play C, D, Eb
and my mind is like: ‘Yes, those amazing notes’.
This orchestra‘s performance and her wonderful violin playing are full of sorrows and joys of the human world

Menuhin always played the Kreisler cadenza--and very well too, even in the years when his performance of the Concerto became cringe-worthy.
