I remember seeing this on some public access channel about 15 years ago. It is still by far the best performance of the four seasons. And not just Julia Fischer the string quartet is also incredible.
I agree.
That is NOT a string quartet; a string quartet is made up of four musicians: two violinists, a violist, and a cellist. This is simply a chamber orchestra. (Vivaldi usually wrote for chamber orchestra, because he didn't have access to enough musicians to write for full orchestra.)
My favorite season is winter, in both life and Vivaldi.

stupenda. Grandissima capacità tecnica e di interpretazione, unica .Grazie Julia
I'd like everybody could know Vivaldi, many people think that he was a little composer, but he was so much good as Bach, Haendel, Beethoven or Mozart ... this peice is considered one of the most important compositions along the Music History at the same level of 9th or 5th symphonies or the Tocata and Fuga ... I hope that Vivaldi would be more followed!!!
Don't worry! Vivaldi is universally appreciated and revered. The idea of "a little composer" is so bizarre, only in your crowd.
I appreciate your verve, but . . . equal with Beethoven's 9th? You invite a scoff.
Look up dixit dominus -your like will never change -it’s like getting an iPhone

As a Martial Artist, I really appreciate and love classical music. I find the elements in classical music are very similar to the martial arts.
Energy is everything and technique is the result of all of your energy and hard work. Both Arts go slow and fast, have hard energy, soft energy and even whipping energy!
I feel this performance captures all of those dynamics very well.
Since everyone has different perceptions regarding Vivaldi's Four Seasons and the different artists that have conducted and performed this brilliant masterpiece, no one can deny that Julia's technique is so clean and so crisp, it is breathtaking. I am by far no expert, but I have watched many "Four Seasons" performances and I feel I can experience the true spirit of Vivaldi's masterpiece with every single note when I watch and listen to this video in a flawless capacity. Julia flows like water through every single season and I absolutely love this performance. It is brilliant!
The observation I grasped from this video and watching Julia is how her and the violin become one. She becomes the instrument and it is such a beautiful experience to witness that captures all of your senses. Her facial expressions during the slower parts shows the depth of her feeling for the music and becoming one with it. Also her technique during the faster parts are magnificent. I don't know what other word to use to describe it.
Also her fellow band-mates in this performance support her so well, that I can't imagine how long and hard they must have practiced. I commend them all.
I just happened to stumble upon this video recently. I want to thank you for uploading the video. I am grateful.
nice I like the speech
She is strong, and she has energy, but not loud. And she is intellectual. I like her playing.
But can you win a 1vs 1 with a violin?

Don't really have a favorite part.. I enjoy the whole thing. It makes me really want to visit the garden. Someday
+The Rune I agree The Rune,
Personally, our feelings are mutual, but if IF A HAD A GUN TAE MA HEAD, I would HAVE to choose a cheeky Spring Concerto No.1 in the Garden. My wife of twenty years and I found it a thoroughly pleasurable spectacle, a must-see extravaganza! From the very beginning the violins throw off the cloaks of convention and kick start into a relishing, full body, melodic sensation that leaves your carcass spasming uncontrollably with rhythmic joy. The violins are clearly no stranger to the stage as they jump in feet first with a cheeky mezzo forte dynamic. The andante, plodding, staccato rhythm just contributes further to the spring time ambience of new life and fertility. However, there is a dash normality with the 4/4 time signature which collaborates harmoniously with the jaw-dropping dotted rhythms. As a climactic finale, the build up of the ear watering crescendo accompanied with modulation, was almost unbearable to bear. This section hit a nerve, triggering another "episode" leaving us foaming at the mouth so engulfed in internal bliss, we were paralysed in place. We are still left with scars from the overload of euphoria that night, and still to this day experience bodily malfunctions (twitches, daily seisures, slight bladder glitches etc) yet we would thoroughly recommend you go see this, it was a 0.5/0.25 experience.

@@juliafischer4286 Hello! I hope you and your family are all very well! At the time I made this comment to you, I was in Salt Lake City, UT teaching Orchestra and Strings in High School.
I'm writing from Canon City, Colorado right at the moment. I was in L.A. until right before Covid hit. We moved to CO in August of 2019. I'm so glad I wasn't in L.A. or anywhere else in CA when the pandemic started. We've been very lucky. Hardly any Covid here. 🥰
This video of yours is incredible! I studied at Juilliard with Dorothy DeLay and I'm a Professional Violinist as well. At the time I made the comment to you, I was teaching about 50 students in my private studio. Your performance helped them to understand exactly what I envisioned for them to do.🎶🎻 We went on and did do the Four Seasons at our final concert that year! Your performance made it marvelous for them!!!💖🎶🎻🎶💖 They were able to see and hear a WONDERFUL, young soloist and see that not only did you play extremely well, but that you had fun doing it!
I think the very BEST video you did was the piano concerto with the orchestra and then turned and around and on the VERY SAME DAY, did the violin concerto too! My students' jaws hit the floor!!! 😉😀 They literally could not believe YOU were not only a Concert Violinist but you were a Concert Pianist too!! That was a VERY fun moment!!! They were in complete disbelief. I told them,"Look what she's able to do! And she's ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT on both Instruments!! Many of them have gone on to serious music schools here in the U.S. and are continuing their advanced studies in music.
Your wonderful performances have been inspirational for all of my advanced students. Again, I truly hope that you and your family are all well and that we'll be able to hear much more from you in the near future. Always the teacher, I have wonderful students here in Colorado too that have been and are continuing to be inspired by your fantastic performances!
Thank you for all of your wonderful music and for exemplifing what someone can do who's willing to do the work to be as amazing as YOU are!
Happy Performing!🤗🎶🎻🎶💖
@@lesliewoodhull5383 good to hear my dear, how’s USA 🇺🇸 and hope you’re keeping safe?
@@juliafischer4286 I'm so glad to hear back from you! The USA overall is doing very well. There are many people who have practiced good health over the last year and a half. About 60% of the country has taken the "vaccine" and they're mostly doing ok.
Many people where I live practice a very holistic life style and were never sick during any of this time. I do have to say that I truly believe that evil and conspiring people in my government along with Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Anthony Fauci are completely responsible for this entire fiasco. I do not doubt that the Chinese government were also involved. Americans overall are very good, kind and empathetic people- but people in our government are very corrupt and have done very evil things to us and to other countries to further their agenda of corruption. It makes me incredibly sad
I think the best thing is that Concert venues have started to open up! In Colorado the music festival in Steamboat Springs is open and so is Aspen. I was just involved with the Juilliard Symposium for the past four days and Chee-Yun was one of our Guest Artists. She's performing the Four Seasons at Steamboat Springs this weekend. So live concerts are beginning to make a comeback which makes all of us VERY happy!!
My husband is an Orchestral Composer and has been busy getting a new Oratorio ready for performance this coming December. That's really a very good sign for all of us if we can have singers, orchestra and audience all in the same concert hall all at the same time!!
I'm hoping things are well for you and you are beginning to perform as well. It is such a hard thing for us not to be playing all the time, isn't it? I hope that Germany is beginning to come out of the pandemic and that you'll be able to begin performing/concertizing again soon. We've all missed being able to play very much!
I hope you and your loved ones are all well and that things will begin to normalize so that we'll be able to hear and play great music again soon! As Ms DeLay would always say,"Sweetie, you must practice so that you're always ready for anything!" So true! Long live the Violin!!!

Swaying as you play
Dancing softly to the rain
As you smile from very far

Dreaming of our dance
Lost so long ago
The rain is pouring down
Heartache all we know
An eon has painfully passed

Where is my Love now
As I dance alone in the dark
Her the talented minx
Frolicking about the park
Disturbed and quite downtrodden
I hear her subtlety smile
She waves her violin
I walk a country mile
Soaking me to my core
Relentless rain it pours
As Vivaldi grins
Knowing how I adore
The music for my beast
Beating within my heart
For a love that never starts
And one that never parts
