Congrats! Great bike. The SMR is even better! By the way, I sold mine and bought a Husqvarna SMR510 but I still think the KTM 990 SM(R) is the best and most allround bike for riding hard all day and all year..
@goosepeuk I don't know if what kind of Megane that is, but it was a Megane that left him behind. Depends on the kind of bike and rider. Tim Röthig did a 7:50 lap in a bone stock Kawasaki ZX-10R, very few cars can do a laptime that fast and none of those cars are cheaper than a brand new ZX10.
@Stuntman175 So has GT4 got it as a standard track or do i have to put hours in to unlock it? As for the crashing, yup done a bit of that and yes it does hurt 75% of the time, oh yes and indeed it can be all too often fatal, this weekend saw a tragedy in moto GP RIP Marco Simoncelli

I said I had to take the car back to its 'Fatherland' before I change it for an elise, which i dont think would test the bike, and this nurbrgring bike/car issue has been on my mind for a while now. Watching a lap of the ring now on rFactor. Thanks for the pointer. Getting the game is cheaper than the real deal and Ive learnt tracks like that in the past for sure.
That's funny because I owned a SM510R as well! It was my second bike after ZX10R. I can only recommend you to let someone adjust the fork and rear shock, then this thing feels even lighter. Awesome bike but I sold it for the sake of a pillion rider friendly and not so maintenance heavy bike (getting either NC700S, CB600F or CB1000R now).
@Stuntman175 i know what i have to do. I take my GSXR750 do the ring and go back in my car, i have a light weight 944 turbo. Its the only way I'll answer it. Now, how do I learn the ring ? ?
@goosepeuk From what I've heard (never went to the 'Ring, but I do want to go someday.) since the track changed management, they upped the lap price by 100%. I've spent countless hours in GT4 and Forza Motorsport 2 & 3 to know my way around the track, but from what I've heard, it's a totally different feeling to drive/ride the real thing, because if you crash, nothing happens, in real life, you can get serioulsy injured or worse, you could end up getting killed, especially on a motorcycle.
In this case I was hanging off because of the fast track. On tight roads I tend to ride supermoto style. I sold the bike last year btw and bought a Husqvarna SMR 510 which is more a real supermoto (lighter).
@goosepeuk The cheapest way is to buy a Logitech G27 and a copy of rFactor. The most expensive one, but the best is to pay 20 euros and do a lap on it, then pay another 20, and again, and again until you know it like the back of your hand. You'll go a lot faster that way, mainly because you'll now own a lightened wallet.

Ever reached on the 990? About 225km/h (140mph) on the autobahn. I don't think it'll go any faster.
No just clutchless shifts. Does it sound that fast?

Thanks for showing me the nurburgring, but disapointing you getting whooped by the swift, the 911 is excusable but not the suzuki swift, surely? :)
