You can tell Major was a genuine football lover... never once seemed like he was just making memories up. Watching Greaves must have been close to watching a modern day Messi
Excellent thanks for uploading! My earliest memories of watching football on tv are the latter years of the ITV coverage (1989-1992) before Sky stole it all!
It was. No VAR. No 100 minute plus games. No one trick ponies. Pogba comes to mind. No 100 Million pound salaries or players. Not rock stars ... Footballers.
First half was excellent entertainment. I like how players ran with the ball far more then. People talk about how quick the game is nowadays, but I'm sure the pace was quicker around this time.
Today's football is, to me at least, very slow and sometimes boring, all this messing around passing the ball backwards and sideways. I'd love to see a winger take on his man, get to the by line and swing in a cross.
Really happy times for me love society back then great friends football had so much more meaning Miss only fools and horses and all that togetherness (:
I remember when David Cameron congratulated Leicester for winning the league, Corbyn replied saying "I wonder if the PM will support Leicester now or just stick with the two teams he already supports"
I was there, took my then girlfriend to her first ever match, Memories of supporters can't remember which side, singing to Gazza 'who ate all the pies/' although he doesn't look to overweight to me now?
@@adammohamed.. it does with jews. Thats whats so puzzling about the limited ambition. Just pile on the debt and take as much out as u want. Thats the jewish way of running a biz. Just ask Glaziers at MU.

yeah, that was a joy, he went right up in my eyes...

I’ve been looking for this for years.. That’s me and my mate getting into the tunnel with Gazza at the end .. One Paul Gascoigne!!
Mike happy Paul. Gacoigne.
Should never have been sent off. Such a soft sending off 'offence'. Great Gazza. We would have won that game 11v11 eventually.
Proper football
Proper football miss these days

I had absolutely no idea Sir John Major is a Chelsea supporter lmao
half the cabinet was Mellor aswell etc.

feeling it mate, makes you wonder where it all went wrong?
It's Hotspur not Hotspurs
The beautiful time ❤️
Back when we didn't have to pay £85 a month for Sky and could watch football on terrestrial tv.
Quite a few recent PMs have been football fans
I remember this season as an Arsenal fan. Only lost 1 league match at Chelsea 2 points deducted and still won title
Over harsh sending off of our great Gazza. We would have eventually won this match if it was 11v11 with Gazza on.
I was there good win for us. It was the season we started building something. Fergie time was on its way!!!
Athelstan Edwardson how are you doing?? Thought I hadn’t seen you on here for a while hope you’re well.
Athelstan Edwardson I’m good thanks, sounds like I’m doing pretty much the same as you!! 😂😂
1:42 Brian Moore talking about the streaker, "the stewards are coming on to take her away or get a better look"!!
Was at this game. Remember singing cheerio at Gascoigne. Pretty sure there was streskers too. Good game.
yeh i was one of the streakers... we got voted twits of the week for standing up aginst the iraq war.
@@rainbowfamilytv1568 awesome. And well worth it.
I came here for the streakers. Please give me a time stamp.
Good music commentary and game nice one!
Ha you can tell John Major unlike David Cameron was a genuine football fan
Edwina Curry used to make him wear Arsenal knickers..
I remember when David Cameron congratulated Leicester for winning the league, Corbyn replied saying "I wonder if the PM will support Leicester now or just stick with the two teams he already supports"
This was the game when Gazza got send off
Why was Gascoigne sent off? Did they ever reveal what he said to the ref?
Very happy times (: no pc bbc showing classic shows much more harmony in society miss those days so much of Barnes Beardsley and haugton
Better times, I miss them...

Nayim getting booed by his own team's fans? Used to happen back in the day. Trevor Putney regularly used to get it from Norwich City fans
they were booing the ref
45 went Stamford Bridge??
great memories 😊 before Sky Sports ruined it all 😡
major never pay football in this life so what does he know
Bring Back Elton
Both teams building in the early 90s. Utd more so. Spurs won the cup 91, Utd the CWC. Why spurs have always had limited ambition is beyond me.
Because money doesn’t grow on trees. We sold Gazza just to survive.

@@meisterlymanu5214 Every time we spend big the players flop. £120m on Ndombele and Lo Celso, and all of Bale`s money.
I was 13 and probably watched this as my old fella is a spurs fan
ahh.. that wud have been me and blondie...
Major was dog shit as prime minister but a decent bloke
