    Love the video and am planning to implement those steps. I think I’ve definitely fallen prey to over complicating my hair care. So now I’m overwhelmed and struggling 😅 I do have a question though. After you do your steam, should a moisturizer or oil be used?

    • @keiraashleyhair

      @@thismomof5 thank you so much for your feedback. I’m very glad it was helpful. To your question, yes moisture still with a conditioner or leave in. No oils are necessary it will not penetrate into that hair.

    How often should you do a steam treatment?

      Hi! Depends how often you wash your hair. But you can do it weekly or bi-weekly.

    Hello! I'm a little confused. How does the moisturizing shampoo add moisture? Isn't the conditioner going to do that? Like, why can't you go straight from clarifying shampoo to conditioner?

    • @keiraashleyhair
      @keiraashleyhair  Місяць тому +13

      @@shanchip1 Clarifying shampoos can strip the hair of natural oils and leave it feeling dry and brittle. Moisturizing shampoos help to restore hydration, improve manageability, and keep the hair healthy and soft. It's important to follow up with a moisturizing shampoo to maintain a good balance of cleansing and hydration for your hair.

    • @keiraashleyhair
      @keiraashleyhair  27 днів тому +1

      As a professional, I use titanium tools. But ceramic is great for at home care. Titanium gets hot really fast and is good for dense hair, ceramic is great for finer hair and doesn’t get as hot as titanium.

    • @keiraashleyhair
      @keiraashleyhair  Місяць тому +6

      @@tonie48 good question.
      After using a clarifying shampoo, which is designed to deeply cleanse and remove buildup from hair, a moisturizing shampoo is essential to replenish moisture and nourishment to the hair. Clarifying shampoos can strip the hair of natural oils and leave it feeling dry and brittle. Moisturizing shampoos help to restore hydration, improve manageability, and keep the hair healthy and soft.

      Also remember that there’s levels to it. Moisturizing shampoos have *some* conditioning properties in it-that *doesn’t mean it has the same conditioning intensity as a deep, rinse-out, or even a lightweight leave-in conditioner.* It’s just more moisturizing than a clarifying shampoo. That’s all.
      Stripping the hair is a harsh process. The level of buildup you have determines the leveling of cleansing you’d need each wash day. Plus shampoo sessions come in twos (lather, rinse, repeat).
      For example, if washed my hair last week and styled with a leave-in + mousse, I can get away with a moisturizing shampoo twice the next wash.
      If I used leave-in + cream + gel, or worked out a lot, I should probably clarify first, then use a moisturizing shampoo as the second lather.
      If it’s been 2 weeks or more, I did a few remoisturizing sessions with leave-ins or oils , and have been sweating, I would probably double clarify.

    Wash 3 times a month? Dang, I shampoo and condition my afro textured hair 2-3 times a week. My hair and scalp greatly improved after starting this routine.
