- I just bought one of my favorite watches, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Duoface Classic Medium size reference Q2458422. The JLC Reverso Duoface Classic Medium fits me similarly like the Cartier Santos Medium. I also go over some Q&A questions about collecting and comparing the Reverso to other watches in this review.

There needs to be a medium tribute douface. the 47-49mm is way too big for most people.

Imho the proportions of the bigger models are off even. They seem a tad too bulky and lose some of the understated classiness
@@alberto_saxo yep. Trying on the Monoface vs. Duoface the thickness difference is very obvious. I'm going for the Monoface just for that reason even though the Duo is really cool. Mono just feels classier and fits much better with the thinner case + slightly smaller dimensions (45.6 vs 47).
my only complaint is that the "travel time" should be labeled "home time" and the button should jump the hour hand of the silver face. Otherwise the day/night indicator on the dark side makes no sense I as I know whether its day or night but just looking out the window.
I agree with this!! I just used it for a travel recently and didn’t realize oh, it’s kind of backwards tracking. I still managed to track my 2 time zones but good catch

Medium is the only way to go. I have this exact piece. I keep it on the brown one now. I never wear this watch formally. Just casual.

Great eposide. Do you think that JLC will lower their prices? I would like the Reverso tribute but did not get it when it went from $ 21 to $ 25 k before it came out. Not nice for a watch enthusiast.
1:53 JLC really, really needs to bring that medium Tribute back. Current Tribute models are way too big. I saw this watch in 2016 and the blue dial was a far more beautiful shade than the current version's. If I had known it would be discontinued so quickly I would have bought it.

Personally, I'd love a Reverso of any (medium) description, but I'll be buying second hand, someone else can pay the 40% price increase, and the 20+% loss on resale...
Give us an update after few months, I've been hearing duoface owner to just use the silver dial 99% of the time, and i wonder how it'll be with you in future.
I have the medium duoface and for me, I prefer the the white/silver dial but have 20+ straps so there are some straps that really suit the dark side. One of my favourites being an orangey Hermes style strap.
Also I have a beads of rice bracelet and the black side looks really nice with that.
Loved the video! and congratulations on the Reverso! it suits you so well. The sheer variety of complications available for the line up is impressive, that and it being one of the longest production timepieces in history makes it something truly special. when you can't pronounce the name of the brand, it is too expensive!
Try a custom band maker, I just had Arron Bespoke make me an ostrich leg band for my duoface……great strap, great service.

Love the brand, hate the price hikes over the past year. Not justified.
Well, the Reversos were extremely good value before, so a bit of a price bump wasn't out of the question, but they've definitely over-corrected and into a cooling market too. I'd be betting on discounts in the future.

@MinuteMon: 8:43: Maybe Carat & Co should get in to the pre-owned watch business, because the 1994 Minute Repeater is-like most Reversos of that period-in a so-called Grand Taille case which, at42x26mm, is the same size as today's "medium". Same for the 1991 Soixantième, 1993 Tourbillon, 1996 Chronograph Retrograde, 1998 Geographique, and 2000 Perpetual Calendar-but alas not for the Tryptique (54.5x34.5mm and 18mm thick!) or the Hybris Artistica gyrotourbillon ("only" 51.2x31mm) you briefly show.
This is my favorite watch in your collection.

The Reverso and the Santos are very different watches though. Having a Santos and the Santos Dumont even makes sense as they are quite different too.
Very nice, especially as a Duoface. As you say, it would be nice to get more variations in this size. They used to have a flat area on the dial for the logo, but I don’t think it needs to stand out much. It’s all about subtleties with the Reverso
Great watch but not a fan of the price increases from JLC. Definitely something to buy grey.
There is a slight workaround on the hacking. When the watch is low on power you can use the crown to hold the second hand by giving a slight negative pressure then letting it to at the top of the hour when synched. Prob not ideal but it it works.
This doesn’t work on mine, it doesn’t bother me too much as the shape of the dial means it’s harder to get it exactly spot on like with a round watch.
My dream watch. One day... Still shocked it doesn't have shock protection though. JLC really need to flex their watchmaking skills by adding hacking, shock protection and a longer power reserve. That would be a big upgrade.

congratulation, I also have the medium duoface, been useing it alot as a daily wear wach with jeans and tshirt, and even work uniform for 2 years now and I love it. I got the blue Casa fagliano summer strap with it as well as the brown leather strap, so I feel like I have 4 watches and can quickly change it when ever I like. enjoy your watch man!
and I also have a 19mm jubelee bracelet that I also love when its very hot and sweaty outside where I dont want my leather straps all wet from sweat.

I love this watch
I have the 53mm lug to lug version with the calandar wheel at the top, both the case size and date wheel have been retired sadly. Mine doesnt have the quick adjust for the travel time, have to rotate the crown the opposite direction for it to jump the hour. Its one of my top 3 in my collection.
I got mine earlier this year and also noticed how non legible the JLC script is on the white dial. My really only complaint tor the medium size.
Congrats! Try it on a mesh bracelet. I know it sounds weird, but give it a go. Also, try giving sharp colours a go.

5:06 won't winding or setting the time like this put unnecessary stress on the stem seeing as there'a pressure on one side vs gripping the crown and just turning it?

The only thing that sort of bothers me a bit is the absence of proper bracelet options, but you seem to have found a way around that (which bracelet is that exactly? any others you'ld recommend?). I'm torn between getting a Tank Must or a Duoface. I plan to own just one dress watch.

Tossing up between the Duoface and the Tank Louis would be the closer price comparison.
Solid gold manual movement, versus steel duo-movement is an interesting toss up.
(Get a Tank Louis with one of the coloured enamel dials 😀)
