The main reason was Konami's VRC sound chip that was carried by their game cartridges and enabled supplementary audio channels for their games basically
All it's missing is the constant "pew-pew" sounds, and that terrifying "FWOOSH!" sound from Contra's Energy Zone. Oh, and constantly hearing "SPEED UP!" or "LASER!" or "OPTION!"
Yeah, if they included it will be awesome and memorable since it very rare to see voice sample in the NES. Also, this game is a huge step ahead from a mediocre to bad-ass kicking Alien butt is a huge transformation.
BANGAI-O!!!!! Yeah, I know, Gradius was first, but not everybody knows that Gradius and Bangai-O was made basically by the same crew. Long life, Treasure! (formerly part of Konami) BTW epic track, one of the best from NES, everybody can hear evolution between music from Gradius 1 and 2. Love the NES sound chip.
To me good video games are from early 80s to the early 2010s, and in 2015 I think it strated getting downhill for some reason, And also with shitty horror games nowadays that is too "cartoonish" such as FNAF, Bendy, Poppy Playtime, more
The "drum" effects sounds so great!
Same one from Super C no less!
All the 8-bit konami games had great percussion effects
It's the famous "Konami drum".
One of THE best in the Gradius series - including the version[s] used in beatmaniaIIDX and DDR. :D
Idk why but the sampled drums in the Konami games fit so well. In fact all the NES games with a drum sample have sound tracks that hold up

@@SuimegaNot the case for this game, this is just 2A03 for sound. The VRC6 was used for games like Akumajou Densetsu and have 3 more sound channels
Chris sent me
grump bump
Yeah me too
SPEED UP!
MISSILE!
OPTION!
LASER!
FORCE FIELD!
DESTROY THE CORE!
I just realized that this uses the same instruments as Contra.
That's cause Hidenori Maezawa was the composer for this game!
What a triangle saw and square wave XD like every other nes game?
In the begginig it sound's like ending in Super C.

It is and the second stage of the NES port is Alien's Lair on steroid.
Also the same as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II (NES)

It was on the Famicom in Japan. Western NES never got it. We got Lifeforce instead. Salamander was in Europe i think?
This song definitely describes Arizona during the summer season.
incredible
I love playing this song in DDR even though is a remix, great song for its time.
I finished this masterpiece today!! I loved it! the music is wonderful too, the music is as good as much as the game is hard
Absolutely Charming
You're already on fire once you're here. B)
Looked for sooooo long for this song.
It was used in iWBTG :p
@Qdude10 Contra and Gradius are both from Konami, so that makes complete sense.
I'll say it again...that we didn't get this in the US is criminal.
sounds like NES Music. i like the Gradius 2 soundtrack.
DDR Extreme (Arcade) and DDR Max 2 Brought me here. Mostly because of Burning heat Remix.
Sounds like the ending to Super C at the beginning
Burning heat ❤️
