Clarification: Stories from the Sea isn’t actually a short story collection but a history book on Irish stories related to the sea. Doesn’t change how much I’m enjoying it, but it was a surprise.
Based on the intro, I refuse to believe there isn't someone with a gun directly off-camera. Short story collections are interesting! I've been reading some Shirley Jackson short stories, making my way through Lord Dunsany's Book of Wonder, and thinking about getting into Flannery O'Connor.
Ooh I hadn't planned on this but looks like its a good time to pick up some short stories. Just gonna finish off two current reads then I can binge short story collections and anthologies for the rest of the month.
Whoa this baseball cap is really throwing me for a loop-I don’t handle change well and miss the beanie 😅 Loved the intro-hope you enjoyed all these short stories!
It tends to take me months to get through collections and anthologies, unless they're in audio. My brain seems to take a while to bounce back to wanting more after getting a full story already. I have started going through Supernatural Encounters, though, which is pretty piecemeal.
nice. I have a little bit of that too, especially with some of the stuff in Liu's collections that make me think the interesting thoughts. There's a certain catharsis with ending a long series like Dandelion Dynasty and the wealth of words that I have with people about the series that isn't always there with short stories.
wait did I use it multiple times? I thought I just mentioned it in relation to my (filming self) lack of knowledge about whether or not someone had shut Ben Bova in a box with no airholes

Gun? What gun?😂
Short stories are indeed great. It’s a little weird to hop from one to the other for me currently but I’m working on it
It's me! I'm the someone with a gun.
@@SheWasOnlyEvie I KNEW IT
Oooo. Flannery O’Connor. Haven’t heard that name in a while.

Glad to persuade another one to join the short story horde (story shorde?)!

lol doesn’t last long so you won’t be thrown long
Extending good reading is a good idea. And why not go for the gold star ⭐️
I read The Toynbee Convector by Ray Bradbury this month! Ray Bradbury is my favorite short story writer!
No surprise there!

i love short stories, i know some people don't like them, but I love them
I think I love conceptual short stories the most. Some others tend to leave me wanting more, like a full novel
2020 got him. 😂😂😂😂😂
If you need help translating random words or helping explain hawaiian customs/lore, let me know. Google translate is hit or miss with translations
I’ll definitely take you up on that offer. I read part of the first story and there were some terms that were throwing me off a little bit
So you almost bought a book in Ireland?
Almost bought it, ordered it later
What's the difference between a collection and an anthology 😂
uhhhhhhh next question, your honor
Who are you and what have you done with Pete? You sound like him, I'll give you that lol
Doppelgängers do indeed exist, sir
You keep using that word (Schrödinger), I do not think it means what you think it means. 🤣
i simply solved the conundrum within editing 😂

@@PonderingsOfPete You used it in reference to whether someone who gathers and writes fairy tales is a collection or an anthology toward the end of
@@SheWasOnlyEvie whoops. that's wrong for sure. I look stupid.
@@PonderingsOfPete No, you are just being consistently chaotic and slap happy throughout the video. Haha!
