These books are so amazing man. Master Pieces. Wall of Storms can't be described in words.
Man this is easily becoming one of my favorite series of all time. I’m about 100 pages into the Veiled Throne, and already I’m enjoying it more than Wall of Storms. Each book just gets better.
Better and better! Glad to hear it!
Pretty firmly rooted in Chinese and Mongolian/steppe cultures, can't think of specific Japanese influences I can remember but there are probably small things.
Great video as always Pete. One day I will eventually check this out.
I started it twice and quit twice 😢 Not happy about it so let’s see if you can open my eyes to something I’m missing 😅
how far you'd get in? hopefully I can open em up, but we shall see
It's definitely cracked my Top 10 at least. Out of curiosity, what are the other favourite series or are you saving that for a future video?
LPQ and Malazan are on that list. I gotta compile it honestly. Been thinking about it some recently, so I'll probably have a top 10 or top 15 here soon
@@PonderingsOfPete LPQ and Malazan are in mine as well. Malazan is definitely my favourite completed Fantasy series but I can see RotE taking that spot, potentially. Do you try to differentiate between completed and ongoing or a mix?
@@thatsci-firogue haven't really thought about differentiating. If I see a significant amount of both, I might, but it depends on how it all shakes out
That's fair. A completed series may have an edge over an ongoing one but that doesn't automatically make it a better series, etc. @@PonderingsOfPete
