If you tend to view the world through the lens of power dynamics and make the presumption that all you need to explain human relations and history is the narrative of oppressor and oppressed, then the success of the Jewish community can be quite challenging to reconcile. Typically, minorities are expected to fail when oppressed, yet the Jews succeed wherever they are, and, of course, there are complex reasons for that. White guilt: A lot of people on the far left see all Israelis as Jews and all Jews as white Europeans, so they see Israel as a European colony oppressing the indigenous brown people, and project onto them all the guilt they feel about what their colonial ancestors did. However, this perspective often overlooks the following facts: 1. About 20% of Israelis are not Jewish, with many being native Druze and Bedouin who are passionately loyal Israeli citizens. 2. Fatah’s Palestine, Hamas’ Palestine, the PLO’s Palestine, Islamic Jihad’s Palestine, or the PA’s Palestine? Therefore, when keyboard warriors and demonstrators take to the streets, influenced by one-sided PR content promoted by Hamas and Arab nations, and chant slogans like “Save Gaza” and “Free Palestine,” I can’t help but wonder: save them from what, or from whom, exactly? You can support the Palestinian people instead of Hamas. Supporting Hamas is the worst thing you can do to the people of Gaza. Hamas leaders are religious fanatics and money-suckers whose only goal is to get rich through aid money and exterminate all the Jews to establish a wider caliphate. They don't care about any civilians and are delighted by the high death numbers. Here, I’d like to clear up a common misconception: the notion that “Jews deliberately expelled Arabs”. That’s just not the case. These events took place during the 1948 war when the “Arab higher committee” urged Arabs to vacate the area so that the Arab armies could launch war against Israel. Majority of them left voluntarily upon learning about the impending war and receiving promises from Arab leaders that they would defeat Israel. Yes, some Arabs were indeed deported by the Zionists in response to attacks by Arab militants following Israel’s declaration of independence. The UN has partitioned a Palestine Arab state for them as well (while also safeguarding the “full rights” of Arabs, Bedouin Arabs, and Druze who wanted to stay in Israel many who also helped Israel conflicts, unlike in Muslim countries where non-Muslims are treated as second-class citizens and were required to pay Jizya) which the Arab countries spoiled. Some may argue that Gypsies don’t have their own country and they were also persecuted by the Nazis. Perhaps that is evidence of further injustice against the Roma and Sinti peoples and not evidence that Jewish sovereignty movements were unnecessary. Militant Palestinians evidently convince themselves that war serves their purpose. Motivated by the anti-imperial spirit spreading throughout the Middle East, they mislead whole generations by promoting a false stereotype of Israelis as settlers and colonizers without ties to the country and therefore bound to run away from it as soon as they face resistance. Educated imams preach with conviction that Jews are descendants of apes and pigs. To a committed Muslim, bargaining about territory and sovereignty would be a sinful surrender in the devotional and eschatological struggle against great spiritual enemies. Islamic theology and law make it unmistakably clear that the proper response of Muslims to Jews is jihad, the term for war against unbelievers. Nothing else will do. The high and mighty in Palestine, as well as the poor and humble, have to act in ways that gain honor and avoid whatever might bring shame down on them. That is how all-important public opinion is determined. Repeated defeat at the hands of the despised Jews is a shame so absolute that only military success is able to wipe it away. The real moral of this polemic is that those with responsibility for the good order of the world give priority to Islamic codes of behavior, and this doesn’t work out well.

If you tend to view the world through the lens of power dynamics and make the presumption that all you need to explain human relations and history is the narrative of oppressor and oppressed, then the success of the Jewish community can be quite challenging to reconcile. Typically, minorities are expected to fail when oppressed, yet the Jews succeed wherever they are, and, of course, there are complex reasons for that.
White guilt: A lot of people on the far left see all Israelis as Jews and all Jews as white Europeans, so they see Israel as a European colony oppressing the indigenous brown people, and project onto them all the guilt they feel about what their colonial ancestors did. However, this perspective often overlooks the following facts:
1. About 20% of Israelis are not Jewish, with many being native Druze and Bedouin who are passionately loyal Israeli citizens.
2. Half of Israeli Jews are not of European ancestry and are a mix of Middle Easterners, North Africans, sub-Saharan Africans and Asians.
3. Some of those purely Middle Eastern Jews have never lived anywhere other than what is now Israel for thousands of years, but have been there since Biblical times.

Therefore, when keyboard warriors and demonstrators take to the streets, influenced by one-sided PR content promoted by Hamas and Arab nations, and chant slogans like “Save Gaza” and “Free Palestine,” I can’t help but wonder: save them from what, or from whom, exactly?
You can support the Palestinian people instead of Hamas. Supporting Hamas is the worst thing you can do to the people of Gaza. Hamas leaders are religious fanatics and money-suckers whose only goal is to get rich through aid money and exterminate all the Jews to establish a wider caliphate. They don't care about any civilians and are delighted by the high death numbers.
Here, I’d like to clear up a common misconception: the notion that “Jews deliberately expelled Arabs”. That’s just not the case. These events took place during the 1948 war when the “Arab higher committee” urged Arabs to vacate the area so that the Arab armies could launch war against Israel.
Majority of them left voluntarily upon learning about the impending war and receiving promises from Arab leaders that they would defeat Israel. Yes, some Arabs were indeed deported by the Zionists in response to attacks by Arab militants following Israel’s declaration of independence.
The UN has partitioned a Palestine Arab state for them as well (while also safeguarding the “full rights” of Arabs, Bedouin Arabs, and Druze who wanted to stay in Israel many who also helped Israel conflicts, unlike in Muslim countries where non-Muslims are treated as second-class citizens and were required to pay Jizya) which the Arab countries spoiled.
Some may argue that Gypsies don’t have their own country and they were also persecuted by the Nazis. Perhaps that is evidence of further injustice against the Roma and Sinti peoples and not evidence that Jewish sovereignty movements were unnecessary.
Militant Palestinians evidently convince themselves that war serves their purpose. Motivated by the anti-imperial spirit spreading throughout the Middle East, they mislead whole generations by promoting a false stereotype of Israelis as settlers and colonizers without ties to the country and therefore bound to run away from it as soon as they face resistance.
Educated imams preach with conviction that Jews are descendants of apes and pigs. To a committed Muslim, bargaining about territory and sovereignty would be a sinful surrender in the devotional and eschatological struggle against great spiritual enemies.
Islamic theology and law make it unmistakably clear that the proper response of Muslims to Jews is jihad, the term for war against unbelievers. Nothing else will do.
The high and mighty in Palestine, as well as the poor and humble, have to act in ways that gain honor and avoid whatever might bring shame down on them. That is how all-important public opinion is determined.
